Don't forget that PKI.com is still an unhealthy mix of info from the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Then again, Fearfest didn't happen on Fridays last year.

Why not obese people, people who drive motor cycles, people who work in mines or in hard labor where their health will deteriorate in the end? Why not people who take the steps instead of the elevator? Why not people will a family history of illness? In the end, you can pin some sort of risky activity on anyone as an excuse to raise their premiums.

What do you want to see for the 2005 season
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
We've actually toyed with that idea. The problem is, if we wanted to do a live stream, then we'd have to broadcast out of Nexigen, and if we wanted to record a show, then why not just listen to "In the Loop". Quite frankly, there's no real news that we could give you that you wouldn't see on the forums beforehand. I suppose we could always have special broadcasts in which we interview people for special occasions, but we'd still need to pick up the technology for that. -
nanananana? You sure it's not the old Batman theme that you're thinking of?

In an attempt to be both proactive and reactive, I'm coming to the community asking what you guys want to see on PKIC for the 2005 season. We already have things in mind, mainly we know this is going to be a big video year for us. I ask you: what did you and did you not like about our updates from last season? What would you like to see more of? Do you have any original ideas that you could propose? Hopefully with the ideas that we have lined up and the input of the community, we can make PKIC an even better place!

Very true, but as far as the park's concerned, they also really have nowhere to dispose of the butts.
-
On the other had, non-smokers have a tendancy to intrude on smokers' rights to smoke too. This is outdoors, so it's not like someone who is offended by the smell couldn't just walk away from it.

The most educated guess that I can really give you is that the IR simply didn't turn enough profit to keep open. It has been closed for about ten years now. The IR still houses a variety of articles about PKI, ride openings, events, etc. All of which are framed and on display. IR is only open to the general public a few times a year, mainly during Night of Fire, in which they hae the gold pass banquet.

Ironically, M@ilman and myself more or less begged Tom Reebie to make some trains for SOB (jokingly, of course). He more or less said that he didn't want anything to do with the project and that there would have to be some serious modifications to the whole system in order for him to even think about it. I guess he just didn't want to get sued. Blame him?
-
I just hope that if someone does pick it up, they have the deep pockets to add good attractions every year.
-
On the contrary, I think most people would still dish out the prices. Would they smoke less? Likely.
-
I think we should invest in ash trays like CP has in the front of the lines. It makes people get the hint. I totally agree with that -- half of the ecology problem is the fact that you can't find ashtrays anywhere in the park.
-
I doubt there's any laws against smoking in queue lines. On the other hand, I have no doubt that smoking on the rides is illegal. Now, you say they'll save $20,000 by not having the eco people have to clean up cigarettes all day long? May be true, but I bet they loose more by security having to take care of violators (labor) and people who would choose not go to the park because they don't have the "freedom" to smoke. I mean, I do know of people who avoid certain venus because they can't stand the smoke, but PKI is an ourdoor place, so I doubt they'll necessarily bring more people in with this. So long as they have designated smoking areas in convenient places throughout the park, it should all work out.
-
The designated areas will likely be the case, which I do support. Apparently they already announced a smoking ban at Carowinds.

ah.... the "PKIC to do list" Expect to hear from us in 4-6 years.

Let's keep this to one topic: Would Cedar Fair Buy PKI?
-
Your stupid PKI isnt the #1 park on earth. Get a life besides PKI! On the other hand Brandon, PKI does have the highest attendance compared to any other seasonal park on earth.
-
Wow -- calm down, Brandon's just being himself.
-
On the other had, since this is their 3rd Ohio park, do you think they'll add $25 millon dollar attractions every year? No.
-
Because the NEW MALL management wanted FULL control of EVERYTHING. Thats it. Plain and simple. Dude, whats your beef with Cedar Fair? You constantly bash them, for no apparent reason. They are still the most successful operating theme park chain in the industry right now. Those are the facts. Like or NOT. - Todd, who would laugh so hard if KI ever ended up under the Cedar Fair umbrella See what you've done? You're the only person I know who could make Todd mad. As far as the Mall of America deal goes, yes, they lost the job, but it wasn't because how how well or poorly they operated it.
-
I doubt it'll be Six Flags... Bush Gardens or Cedar Fair would be ok, but personally, I'd much rather see it stay with Viacom.
-
Look at it this way: what company is strong enough to buy Paramount Parks, and would they have an interest in them?
-
Ever since I rode Noah's Ark at Kennywood, I have had the dream of creating a park that had all sorts of dark rides themed to Biblical events.... could be cool.
-
This is my official prediction: Nick Central will be revamped adding... let's say 3 new attractions, and at the same time they'll retheme HBL to NC. It would be perfect to do it all at once for marketing reasons. I just think that adding one attraction at a time is too "small game" for the park now.

That's not elevator cable at all, it's actually the support cables that they use for the turnarounds on wooden coasters.
