Great idea! If anyone would like to add a picture to the "Random Photo" section of the main page, send an email here: pictures@pki-central.com. All you need to do is title the subject of the email "Random Photo Entry" and include your user name on the boards. We will try to get it up as soon as possible. Please remember to only send PKI related pictures. If I may, I'd like to take the liberty of suggesting that when you submit the photos, make sure that while they're PKI related, that they are actually of things at PKI. For example, if you want to take a picture of the big tower in Nickelodean Central, that would be great, but don't send in a picture of your mom, your aunt Jenny, and uncle Bob in front of what you claim to be the tower in NC. It simply isn't interesting to the rest of us. Now, a logical exception would be like a group photo from a PKIC outing. Really it's just a matter of common sense. EDIT -- Don't forget! There will be PLENTY of photo opportunities at Fear Fest!

To be honest with you, if someone hold asked me "What do you think people would do if the sign fell?" I'd probably say that no one would care, but it seems self-evident that that's not the case. I guess it would be comparable to if you got rear-ended in your crappy car and it totalled it. You're excited because you get to get a new car (on their insurance) but at the same time, you can't help but feel awkward because the car that you are used to is no longer in your driveway. That's kind of how I feel about the sign. I mean, it wasn't the main thing that I would go to see when I went to the park, but it is going to be odd not to have it there. Although we're probably going to get a bigger, better sign, it just won't be the same.

So what do you do when the park is closed? Just watch cameras and patrol the park? Sounds like a fun job, but it must get boring after a while.
-
You know what else would be a cool idea? Let the members of the forums upload the "Random Photo of the Day" and have "courtosy of ____" with their screen name.. you know.. so we can all contribute.
-
It would be cool if the whole thing were incapsulated in one big tunnel.. maybe let you see the light of day for the loop or something. It would be kind of like an indoor ride, but not in a big building. Is anything like that in existance?
-
I hope they have a splash pool at the end of the racing slides.. I mean those friction-style stops at the end of Fasttracks...ouch..
-
lol... I like that idea! You could have a nightly showing of "Dark Side of The Rainbow in 3d" at the FX Theatre.
-
How do you guys think the lines for the rides will be?
-
Have several PKIC trips throughout the year.. like one per month. We're never going to have the perfect day for everyone to be there, but I think if we meet personally, we'll be able to maintain the civility of the site.
-
I don't know if you guys had the opportunity to check out the history page, but they did an AWSOME job on it! Keep up the good work! I'm sure they wouldn't mind if any of you have any interesting tidbits to be added to it, to PM them or something... it's cool that their history doesn't just have when rides were put in or taken out.
-
You know, I bet a bunch of outsiders would read this and think that you guys are crazy for the tributes to the sign. Personally, I see/saw it as a momumental tribute to the greatness that is PKI. This only proves that momuments may fall, but PKI will live forever!

Is it going to be fun you think?

what? have you not seen the picture?! It's going to be AWSOME! I hate waterslides and I think it's going to be great! I'm really excited! -
::You hear a whip crack:: j/k I used to take my ex to PKI all the time when we were seeing eachother towards the beginning of the summer. It's really a good place to take them. Just don't ride Tomb Raider with them! It's a curse! It has to be something with the monkeys' heads or something.. every time we rode it, I said something stupid or ignorant and made her mad at me.

So do you work there over the winter?
-
I'd simply do anything I could to make it have the warmth of an old fashion family admusement park.
-
I hope you had a good time, Chef! Personally, I was stuck at Best Buy doing whatever it is that I do. Weather always seems to be a factor in the experience at the park, if it's too hot, it's flat out miserable, if it's too cold, the rides are miserable... of course, there are those nice days when everything is perfect! I wish I could have said my goodbyes to the park before Fear Fest.. you know.. one last day of normal play before we kick off that celebration. Oh well, maybe next year... Anyway, Fearfest starts next week.. I'm really excited about that. I haven't been to the park since my Labor Day visit with Chef. I'm suffering from withdrawls!
-
lol.. now THAT is a committed man. He's making a web page about a sign! A applaud your commitment to the park. The sign carries a lot of history with it.

I really think that they know what they're doing. I'm sure they didn't take KC out just because they felt like it. They had their reasons. Now, Delirium may not be the most thrilling ride in the world, but it is easily one of the most fun rides in the park. I haven't hesitated to let you guys know that I'd choose PT over SDATHC any day, but at the same time, they needed something new to spark the interest of the general public. Next time you disagree with the new attraction that the park is putting in, just keep in mind that they put a lot of thought into what they're doing. They don't just drop tens of millions of dollars into things that sound good. They do countless surveys and have countless hour of future planning. Just becaue you think something doesn't sound that great, doesn't mean that ten thousand people don't disagree with you.
-
Will you let us know next time it's opened?
-
What you need is a good babysitter.
-
Yeah, what ever happend to "Jeffery Seibert's Excellent Adventure"?
-
It's really sad to see those photos, but then again, at least it was just the sign. First of all, no major attractions were damaged or destroyed and most importantly, no one was hurt.
-
:offtopic: lol.. it was just an example, I can't help but agree
-
lol... As long as no one got struck by lighting in the parking lot, it's all good.

A problem that we had on the other site was the mods closing a thread because it had already been discussed. If it was discussed a long time ago, I wouldn't even worry about it, but if it's on the same page, close it, but include a link to the thread. That would make everything a lot more user friendly and won't seem so rude. Also, as I said before, don't close topics because they're off topic.. I mean, if it turns from "How tall is the Eiffel Tower?" to "Backstreet Boys suck and Limp Bizkit rules!" then I would understand, but if it goes from "How tall is the Eiffel Tower?" to...I don't know.. "If they were to paint the Eiffel Tower another color, what would it be?" then I really don't see a reason to close it. Too many interesting threads were destroyed elsewhere because they thought they could maintain a board of threads about the exact same subject.. there just isn't that much to say about one thing. I don't know how many of you have engaged in a conversation in the past few weeks, but they have a tendancy to drift to different ideas. Also, I think the mods should have a no BS policy about attacking people. I mean, if someone says something that is totally wrong, and people correct him or her, then that's great, but if someone says something wrong and the next thread starts with the phrase "You obviously don't know anything..." or "You're an idiot" than the mods should PM the person and give them a warning, and they're going to be the bad apple of the board after that, then it's time that you step in and ban them. Pretty much the only way to get banned from Unlimited was to use foul language, and that really didn't create a healthy community. I think the main idea that we must keep in mind is that we're working together on this site. It's the mods jobs to keep everything in order, but it's our reponsibility to make it as easy as possible on them. I have already suggested things for the mods, so here are my suggestions for everyone else: 1. If you think you may have crossed the line, then you probably did. 2. Read over your posts. Do they make sense? Is your intention to make a point or to insult someone else? 3. Do your best to post under the proper headings. 4. Do your best to keep things on topic. 5. If someone says something that is totally wrong, it's not because they're stupid or naive, they're probably misinformed. 6. Don't say "This is off topic, this should be closed" -- it not your job to do that. Let the mods do their jobs and you just be as civil as possible. 7. If someone does insult you, don't insult them back. Respond to what they have to say in a non-threatning manner. No matter what, you'll look like the smart one of the two. 8. This is the most important one: We're here to have fun! We should be united with our love of PKI! Things are doing great now, so let's keep it that way
