I was there yestarday and I Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera was open. I think they were rotating sides because of short staffing because I went back Spongebob 3D was closed.

I went out today and had a great time I'll have a trip report later. Yeah it started at $10, I walked past a little later and it said $15 and then even later on it was the Ultimate Special: The Regular $20. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until I saw the $20 and realized it was going up.

I think PKI has and animal/pest control because last when I was walking out the exit of Top Gun there was a snake in the grass and two people came over and got him and they weren't in normal uniforms.

I'm glad that you had a great time and enjoyed the park. I haven't ridden Reptar since it opened and I thought it was way smooth when I did, has it really gotten that bad? But anyways nice trip report and once again I'm glad you had a great time and hopefully you get to return when all of the rides are open.

The only good ride? It may be one of the best rides there but it is most definitely not the only good ride in the park. PKI is full of great rides and if you feel that is the only good ride there, then why would you bother to go to the park. With that being said, once again I hope it stays with the same theme, because it is a great ride. This makes a lot of sense, not the decision by PP to put in another launched coaster in PKD if they would have to take out a ride, but the whole idea of why FoF at PKD closed.

Nice Pictures and Happy Birthday! -
I believe it'll stay.

Well then why don't you kindly go tell Guest relations because listening to you complain is getting really annoying.

I believe he was being sarcastic.

The sign said "Paramount Action Zone", so it could be a phase out. Those are from Winterfest. But I do have a question regarding the lights on the Eifel Tower. Do they use them at night or are they only going to be used for Winterfest. I hope they use them year round because they looked great at night.

Maybe they were just short-staffed on Monday due to school, even though that seems like a ride they'd keep open even on a limited operation day. Just a thought.

The Antiques stayed on the map after they closed.

I'm glad to here that so far the majority of people have said that it was because all the employees try hard I'm sure and I'm also going up this Saturday possibly.

I haven't gone yet, but I like the idea of louder music.

Thanks for clearing that up guys, I didn't know if it was powered the whole time or not.

I can't vote because I didn't go, but since so many people have been arguing back and forth about the good and the bad and there have been good trip reports and bad trip reports, so I wanted to get everyones take. So what do you think, was it a success or a flop?
-
Yes, I say it is because it runs on a track and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe it uses the power to get started but afterwards it just coasts.

Where would you recommend to sit on Avatar? And also which rides weren't working today?

Of course you could also pay attention to the positive things that are being said about oppening weekend instead of only focusing on the negative, which seems to be the case with so many of us. There are always going to be complaints, especially this early in the season, but a lot of good things did happen and a lot of people had great visits this weekend. So I wouldn't be so judgemental of the park and saying that this will be a bad season, because I can guarantee it won't be. And you can say things have never been this bad in the past, but have you ever considered that it may just have been a bad opening weekend or that you just had a bad visit and that it won't be this way the whole season? So give them a break they had to redo a whole area over the winter and I'm sure you'll begin to see the PKI that you all know and love.

Another thing updated is Vortex's sign.

Wow, this is getting kind of old. Half of the new topics that I go into now are started by you and they are all complaining about something that you encountered in the park on opening weekend. Just give it a rest and talk about something else. *And no I'm not saying that he doesn't have a right to complain, but keep it to one topic.
-
Actually, you can probably expect a few break downs on opening day becaus they have to get the offseason bugs worked out even if they do run them before-hand.

I'm not just copying off everyone I actually looked it up on RCDB, it was 1982.

Uh huh. Six Flags in New Jersey has been open for the TWO weekends before this weekend. And on opening day, virtually everything was open and working, except for the wooden roller coaster (which is being modified for the new coaster being installed). Six Flags Over Georgia has been open for six weeks. Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte opened without all these ... issues. Paramount's Kings Dominion on opening day was far, far worse than Paramount's Kings Island. That all being said, the issues here are quite simple, and mostly a matter of budget. To me, by far the worst is the not opening the parks AT ALL before 10 (10:30 at PKD) (for anyone other than ACERs <at PKI> or people eating breakfast with the characters). That can be fixed. It needs to be. Soon. I can't say much about Six Flags New Jersey, but all the other parks you named open earlier than PKI because of their locations. All of their locations have shorter winters than Cincinnati. Let me explain: Six Flags Over Georgia- Georgia is way down south, just west/northwest of Florida, need I say more? Carowinds-North Carolina/South Carolina, once again warm states. PKD-Virginia is warmer than Ohio. So those are the reasons they open earlier. So yes we are lucky at how early they get PKI open due to its location. And also I'm sure PKI, cost-cutting or not, will get its act together soon and once again deliver a great season.
