I was going to suggest another Looney Toon, Pepe Lepu. But we already had a womanizer in the White House. (and I'm a big Clinton fan! It's just funny!)

^ Sorry to say it, but the writing is on the wall. There will be an upcharge for HH in '08. Why else would the park be closed for an hour?

SFOT now selling beer...
Browntggrr replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Not so much for the NFL, NBA, or NHL due to ticket pricing and rules that everyone must have a ticket. But MLB has made the step in the right direction where not all children need a ticket. -
Thanks. That was the point I was making.

It also does not show those families with children that are under the age of 3 that get into the stadium for free. Whereas in NFL stadiums, everyone has to have a ticket, regardless of age. That would certainly alter that median as well. -

Article from October 1st 2002? I would not call that exactly accurate for 2007. But the article did state that baseball viewed it as an issue with the older fans, and has since tried to appeal to the younger fans and families in the 5 years since the article was published. Also note that is is that the median is 45 years old. Only 23 years older than the current legal drinking age, but much younger than those in their 70's as well. EDIT for clarification. -
http://www3.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/visi...it_calendar.cfm It also shows seperate times on Saturdays for day hours and HH hours in September & October.

Yeah, that is my point. I have season tickets to the Cleveland Indians and games during the week are more families with younger children and young adults, than older people. The scans you see during the games on TV are more likely the seats behind home plate. Those seats, usually about 4 sections, are usually triple the cost of any other seat in the house. So yeah, just looking at those seats you would get the impression that the overall attendance would be those over 21, but that is simply not an accurate way to gage the age demographic of the entire stadium. -

I would like to see that stats on the majority of the Reds' audience being over 21. And when did the Reds play not play because they stopped selling beer? -
Rocky and Rambo? That would be Stallone's way of showing everyone that he is still around.

BttF was a great movie. The sequals were nothing compared to the first. Not necessarily bad, just not like the first. Now the Indy series is decent. Temple of Doom was a little out there, but the 3rd was great. I hope the 4th is just as good.

Yeah, nothing is perfect. But we all had many complaints when Paramount was in charge as well. Unfortunately some changes have an immediate negative effect, but with long term positive solutions. GL's closing did upset many, but if the attendance did not support the park, there is no reason to throw money into a dry hole. - Perhaps the staffing in certain areas did suffice the need. - Were salaries too high to begin with? - Many parks, as well as most entertainment venues increased amenities such as food service, or were already too high to begin with. CF parks are certainly not the minority there. - Were the cutbacks necessary? Do the positives outweigh the negatives? The truth will be told in years to come. Yet right now, I would take CF's past history as a positive step.

Ahh.. Just as I thought. Everybody hates change. Mainly because they have never been anywhere else to see if there is a better way of doing things. And it is really not your fault. Hey if your opinion of CF is negative, then that is the way it is. You are certainly not alone. But there are some facts you may want to consider: CF's leadership has been is the amusement business for many years. Many more years than Paramount's leadership was in the amusement business. And even being in this business for an extended amount of time does not make them perfect, their good decisions far outweigh the bad ones. Overall CF has been successful. Sure they are going to stub their toe once in a while. But what business always makes the correct decisions? Any decision that was made, was made with the intention of improving the overall guest experiance. Just ask anyone that is in the food service industry. One table will praise the blackened chicken alfredo, and the very next table will complain that it is the worst dish ever. You cannot please everybody. So sure, those guests that were used to Paramount's way of doing things were in for a shock because it is now CF's way of doing things. The same complaints and issues happened when Paramount took over as well. It is easily defined as growing pains.
