~BYE~ Best Year Ever 2007!
Yeah, nothing is perfect. But we all had many complaints when Paramount was in charge as well. Unfortunately some changes have an immediate negative effect, but with long term positive solutions. GL's closing did upset many, but if the attendance did not support the park, there is no reason to throw money into a dry hole. - Perhaps the staffing in certain areas did suffice the need. - Were salaries too high to begin with? - Many parks, as well as most entertainment venues increased amenities such as food service, or were already too high to begin with. CF parks are certainly not the minority there. - Were the cutbacks necessary? Do the positives outweigh the negatives? The truth will be told in years to come. Yet right now, I would take CF's past history as a positive step.

~BYE~ Best Year Ever 2007!
Ahh.. Just as I thought. Everybody hates change. Mainly because they have never been anywhere else to see if there is a better way of doing things. And it is really not your fault. Hey if your opinion of CF is negative, then that is the way it is. You are certainly not alone. But there are some facts you may want to consider: CF's leadership has been is the amusement business for many years. Many more years than Paramount's leadership was in the amusement business. And even being in this business for an extended amount of time does not make them perfect, their good decisions far outweigh the bad ones. Overall CF has been successful. Sure they are going to stub their toe once in a while. But what business always makes the correct decisions? Any decision that was made, was made with the intention of improving the overall guest experiance. Just ask anyone that is in the food service industry. One table will praise the blackened chicken alfredo, and the very next table will complain that it is the worst dish ever. You cannot please everybody. So sure, those guests that were used to Paramount's way of doing things were in for a shock because it is now CF's way of doing things. The same complaints and issues happened when Paramount took over as well. It is easily defined as growing pains.

^ Perhaps it has to do with staffing? College students vs. High School students? ... just a thought.

^^ They didn't need to change Banshee, yet they chose to change it. But that whole situation is completely different than this one.

So exactly what are the recommended heights for enclosures from the AZA for? Protect the people from the animals or protect the animals from the people?

Does the name of a ride really matter? Seriously though, you ride a ride, for the ride. Not for the name on a ride. What is you alternative? Batman everything, Superman everything. The name of a ride does not influence me in any way.

This is going to get ugly. Especially if the hospital did not do a toxicology test on any of the victims.

16 trapped upside down on coaster
^ Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I remember Magnum's first year or 2nd year, the winds were strong enough off the lake that the train stopped on the 2nd hill and fire turcks were called in from Toledo and Cleveland to get the people off the train.

Intresting... Carowinds' calander shows nothing going on after 3/21/08, even though every other day prior shows the only event going on is jacket pick-up. I wonder if the writer looked at that information the wrong way, or if they actually know something. http://www1.cedarfair.com/Carowinds/visit/visit_calendar.cfm

Why are you planning on bringing a slingshot with you? Because in the 2 years that this tiger has been at this particular enclosure there have not been any other escapes prior to this one. Let's put this into our terminology: Perhaps this zoo did not meet the recommended height in 2007 because when this enclousure was built, it did meet the recommended height and as the years went by, new recommendations came about. Just like when a particular rollercoaster had a height limit or no seatbelts one year, and the next year the height limit is raised and seatbealts are added. Things change over time, and for various reasons.

New ride for 2008?
You should have seen the second skyride that went from just West of SRF to the midway East of ID. It was a very comfortable ride over what could really only be described as wetlands.

Should KI host a New Year's Eve Party and charge admission?
Now a GWL party would be a good time...

2008 Coaster?
It appears he is trying to say that Maverick in comparison to Thunderhawk is not intense or fun. Obviously just trolling for negative reactions...

Should KI host a New Year's Eve Party and charge admission?
Who else would suggest a New Year's Eve party in 1999? Nope, it was you.

Eight Balance Sheet Accidents Waiting to Happen
CF is putting up a fight with the 49ers CGA is getting FireFall this year and a GCI woody in 2009 i think CGA has a chance Yeah, nobody is counting out GA, but out of all the properties, that is the only property currently being discussed as possibly being pushed out. Was it the: could be sold, proposed 49ers stadium, very early stages, or Nothing has been finalized that threw you off?

Adventure Express
From what I *heard* (so take it for what it is worth) those trims were added to slow down the trains going down towards the Rhine so that the speed of the trains would be less going into the final brake run. Almost all the track, excluding the final brake run, after the drop towards the Rhine has banked and curved track. Arrow could not find a way to effectivly install brakes on those tranitions.

New ride for 2008?
1) What do you consider a family ride? 2) Also, being a parent, I would rather have several kids areas as opposed to one area. When the wife and I want to go on Raptor, we use the Parent Swap Program, so the kids can hit the rides at Kiddie Kingdom and one of us can wait for Raptor. The same idea goes when we want to go on TTD, Magnum and Gemini. One of waits in line, while the other watches the kids at Camp Snoopy which is close by. We use a Motorola to communicate as to when we are going to be getting on the ride. While Nick U is more appealing, it is a pain in the butt when we want to go on Firehawk, FoF, and Vortex and there is nothing in the immediate area that can occupy the kids' time while one of us waits in line.
