Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
Exactly. We had to add to the land to expand the basin. It is not nearly as expensive as you think.

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
It's not nearly as bad as you think. I belong to a yacht club & we recently expanded our basin. The cost of the expansion (permits from Army Corps, material, labor) was far less than you would believe (the new docks installed cost twice as much).

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
With the exception of residing in Ohio, there are zero similarities between GL & CI.

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
If they have not sold land, all of CI's existing plans would continue to move forward, Racino or not.

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
^ Did CI sell any land to the Racino?

The governor is excited that only 1 bidder came forward? Interesting......

Perhaps it will no longer be a park as we know it? (Just to add: My guess is Mr. Hart's group is the only bid placed.)

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
Oh.... You have "sources". If you already have the information, why ask the question? And why use the exact information found word for word in an article from August?

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
If anything, CI is an asset to RD. It has close proximity to the racino, giving non-gamblers an entertainment option- (i.e.: mom & kids can go to CI & dad can bet the ponies.) A similar scenario has taken place in my hometown. A casino was built a few miles from a large indoor waterpark. Both have fed off each other quite well.

Good-Bye Coney? River Downs Racino Looming
Gambling boat? Anderson Township Trustee Russ Jackson suggested the Delta Queen. Pinnacle Entertainment "didn't bite". http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/print-edition/2012/08/24/river-downs-racino-plan-includes.html?page=all Companies like this have all the plans drawn out prior to purchase and the plans will include not getting bigger than what the area can support. The initial plans normally include purchasing all land/ buildings at one time due to the inflated land values after the casino/ racino opens. If the plans did not include Coney from the beginning, it would be pure assumption (almost trolling for a reaction based upon a newspaper article you twisted into a rumor) at this point. Do you have anymore newspaper "sources" that can be quoted that don't date back to August?

Crypt Building's Fate
The long-term solution has been found: As a Halloween Haunt attraction. This sounds rather familiar......

Cedar Fair's Matt Ouimett Presents at UBS Global Media Conference
^ It should be noted that I was not being critical of grammar in any way. Just a "lost in translation" between two respectful parties.

Kings Islands wasted land
Ever been to Marineland? It is the only park that I can think of where the park map scale showing the distance between rides is spot on.

Cedar Fair's Matt Ouimett Presents at UBS Global Media Conference
It's not that TTD's theming was not kept up, it literally had to be removed due to safety before it removed itself. But again, CP does not market itself as a theme park. A true comparison of seasonal theme parks would be BGW & the former PKI. Dislike? Detest? Tomato? Tomato? Gotcha.
-
Cedar Fair's Matt Ouimett Presents at UBS Global Media Conference
Comparing the themed rides, and thus the theming failures, between the two parks is apples and oranges (i.e. DT vs. AE, TR:TR, SDatHC, IJ:ST, Action Theatre, BB etc.) KI marketed the park as a theme park ("Where the magic of the movies meet the thrills of a lifetime"), CP never has, to the point Mr. Kinzel was quoted on several occaisions that CP is not a theme park. AR was lacking on thrills, erecting the building was a lame attempt re-invent the ride. Mr. Kinzel has also been quoted on several occaisions that DT was one of his worst decisions. I understand you have a deep dislike for Mr. Kinzel, jumping on him for this one can be defined as grasping for straws as the head of any company is still human and does make mistakes. The theme here should be that the head of the company actually admitted a mistake.

Crypt Building's Fate
^ The acts could be themed to the tomb as well. I vote for the Grateful Dead.

Crypt Building's Fate
The fate of the Crypt building is quickly becoming one one the most beat to death topics at KIC behind: SoB anything, Vortex sinking, SoB anything, FD being removed, SoB anything, and The Beast trims.

Question About Hotels
A business owner can't discriminate- but can refuse service to a customer. It's not wise to refuse service for an arbitrary reason, but it is their property, they can request any person to leave the premises for any reason- or for no reason as long as the "rules" stay consistent. An owner will have trouble by refusing service to a gay couple, but if the owner believes the couple will hurt the business, and does not mention anything about being gay, service can be refused. The after- effects of unreasonable actions by the business owner will certainly hurt their bottom line.

Question About Hotels
The owner/ operator can set whatever "rule" they want when it comes to who is on the property- it is their private establishment- not public property.
