They don't try to compete, they do compete.The new Fantasyland is a direct answer to WWoHP. While IoA does provide thrills, they also have family attractions. Disney provides family attratcion, and also has thrills. Don't be fooled, each compete for $$. I beg to differ. To me, Avatar is the respond to Harry Potter. Remember how rushed the announcement was? Not even a snippet of concept art. Disney Execs: "Ope! Islands of Adventure did his new Perry Hotter thing and now we need to do sumtin! Oo let's do Avatar!" The announcement was not very Disney-like. Any other ideas about Disney's answer to WWoHP?

There were not "some" but "many" standards that were not followed. I'm not sure if you know this: SoB's accident was not caused from swaying or loose bolts.

^ Well said. It is a terrible subject, but it is reality. Sharing stories like this may leave a bad taste in your mouth, but it also can inform many how to handle such unique things.

^ I can only imagine all the Demons Screamin' from the walk up those stairs. Many already complain about the long walk back to FD......

^ No park wants to give up a revenue event, but honestly, it is probably more about the crowd(s) than the money- at least for this Saturday. HW Saturdays are notorious for bringing in HUGE crowds- to the point that the gates have stopped people from entering the park & the park ran out of a good amount of menu items.

Even if SS is a seperate ticket, I can't imagine holding on to Timberwolf and not upgrading to Luminosity for that one attraction. Luminosity brought HUGE crowds to CP almost every night. If people are staying at the park later, and spending money, that would makeup for whatever loss of revenue due to SS not being at Timberwolf.

Removing TA does not mean another pay-per-ride attraction is in the works as the revenue generated by TA can be compared to a popcorn fart. TimberWolf, at one time, served a purpose. It has unfortunately fallen behind by the entertainment industry standards (lighting, compatability, electrical usage, etc.), thus why it has only attracted less than a handful of events per year. Luminosity on the other hand is fresh & new. It attracted Carly Rae Jepsen, by no means a main attraction, but bigger than Spirit Song thus it is easy to see KI adding a Luminosity type stage to attract other acts like Carly as well as have a new home for SS. AZ would be a perfect place for it.
