  1. Great article on lawsuit myths: http://www.jerebeasleyreport.com/2008/01/the-lawsuit-myth-put-out-by-the-tort-reformers-must-be-exposed/
  2. Or they are dropped because the cases have little to no merit.
  3. I cannot play football, should I sue the NFL for discrimination? Absolutely not, it would be foolish. Unfortunately, there are certain things some people cannot do. That does not mean they are discriminated against. Even if it was allowed at one time does not mean it is or was the right decision.
  4. That is not bad, for a weekday at CP.Typically, CP is packed end of June through mid-August. Yet with any park, it is difficult to near impossible to predict crowds. No matter how long the lines are, enjoy the views & scenery and enjoy your first trip to the Point!
  5. Great point. Call of Duty has a "Mature" rating. Our video game rating system started in 1994. Before then, there was no rating system. This only reinforces how sensitive our society has become (btw- given how violent games have become, I do see the need for a rating system).Today's World is MUCH more sensitive than ever: little Johnny has to get a 6th place trophy for his volcano science project or Billy Crystal being criticized for being racist for his parody of Sammy Davis Jr. at the 2012 Academy Awards- the same skit he used to do on SNL in the mid to late 80's. Even Davis' daughter was quoted it was not offensive and her father would have laughed, but that did not stop some in the media from writing how offensive they believed it was. Exactly. That was 1986. The decision to not use Banshee at CP was in 1995-96.Some things get better with age and some things are just not acceptable anymore. Today's news: http://www.cleveland..._two_rides.html I would post an article from the Sandusky Register, but they don't seem to have any more information than what other media oultlets have.
  6. I can't imagine Banshee being used. The name was scrapped many years ago for what some may consider a stereotype issue as well as a word that has death undertones. The decision to use Mantis as opposed to Banshee will certainly come up, how can it possibly be explained that it is acceptable to use now?
  7. I wonder what they will consider "expert", as who can be more of an expert than the actual designers of the train/ restraint?
  8. Don't skip a thing. Start your day at MF (Marina entrance) then to Maverick, and work your way clockwise around the park. If you skip around, you will spend more time walking then waiting/ riding.
  9. I was on WT when a fake leg came off the forward launch side. The ride was e-stopped & homed out, and it created quite the scene (with some blood curdling screams) when someone yelled out "SOMEONE LOST A LEG!" and then we all saw it laying there. My wife freaked, I then sarcastically asked her: "I wonder what it hit?" She then hit me (this happens often).
  10. I've said it before; those in the know at any park have to LOL at what enthusiasts come up with...Although I can say, with confidence, park enthusiasts are a few notches above Trekkies.

  12. Enthusiast sites are BLOWING up with rumors: - Track can be seen on the property of BE. - DT last rides will be on 7/29 (apparently this was announced at CM) - this will be B & M's first 4th Dimension. - Coaster name will have 9 letters
  13. Now it is official. From CP's FB page- http://www.facebook....m/#!/cedarpoint I assume something was announced at CoasterMania. EDIT: 60 seconds is a long time!

    Ahhhhh, Ancient Chinese secret!
  15. ^ I just found out California Grill is getting shutdown early 2013 for renovations. Glad you can see it open!

At one time, often. Now- never, as I can get more accurate information from 4 different enthusiast sites that generally have integrity.
  17. Teen wary of approaching thunderstorm leaps from chairlift ride at Casino Pier amusement park Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/teen-wary-approaching-thunderstorm-leaps-chairlift-ride-casino-pier-amusement-park-article-1.1111110#ixzz20UxOTVUg Those chairs were getting blown around pretty good, but I don't think jumping off was smart.
  18. Probably not given the legs are not permanent. I'm just glad I don't have to make that decision!
  19. With the exception of the most obvious apparel (i.e.: thongs, bikini tops, whacky tabaccy leaf t-shirt, etc.) I have not seen a dress code enforced. I honestly don't see how they could on a consistant basis. There are so many different walks of life, on vacation, most with a meal plan, it would be practically impossible without causing a daily scene. If you dress park appropriate, there should not be a problem.
  20. Well done on CG! Hoopdedoo Review is fun & if you like seafood, Coral Reef at Epcot. I thoroughly enjoyed the meatloaf @ 50's diner at DS.

If I am not mistaken, there has always been some type of trim going down the hill prior to the helices.
  22. Cedar Point is much more of a resort atmosphere than KI, meaning, they can charge seperate admission for SC. EDIT- BTW, this poll is too vague. KI & CP have such different settings, I don't think they can be compared.
  23. Browntggrr replied to Hank's topic in Kings Island
^ Absolutely. Just look at the amount of wood vs. steel coasters built over the last 30 years.
  24. ^ I think it is safe to say, there will never be another coaster associated with the name "Beast". There is also a significant difference between a "loop" and a "rolling inversion".
