  1. Now it is official. From CP's FB page- http://www.facebook....m/#!/cedarpoint I assume something was announced at CoasterMania. EDIT: 60 seconds is a long time!
  2. Ahhhhh, Ancient Chinese secret!
  3. ^ I just found out California Grill is getting shutdown early 2013 for renovations. Glad you can see it open!
  4. At one time, often. Now- never, as I can get more accurate information from 4 different enthusiast sites that generally have integrity.
  5. Teen wary of approaching thunderstorm leaps from chairlift ride at Casino Pier amusement park Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/teen-wary-approaching-thunderstorm-leaps-chairlift-ride-casino-pier-amusement-park-article-1.1111110#ixzz20UxOTVUg Those chairs were getting blown around pretty good, but I don't think jumping off was smart.
  6. Probably not given the legs are not permanent. I'm just glad I don't have to make that decision!
  7. With the exception of the most obvious apparel (i.e.: thongs, bikini tops, whacky tabaccy leaf t-shirt, etc.) I have not seen a dress code enforced. I honestly don't see how they could on a consistant basis. There are so many different walks of life, on vacation, most with a meal plan, it would be practically impossible without causing a daily scene. If you dress park appropriate, there should not be a problem.
  8. Well done on CG! Hoopdedoo Review is fun & if you like seafood, Coral Reef at Epcot. I thoroughly enjoyed the meatloaf @ 50's diner at DS.
  9. If I am not mistaken, there has always been some type of trim going down the hill prior to the helices.
  10. Cedar Point is much more of a resort atmosphere than KI, meaning, they can charge seperate admission for SC. EDIT- BTW, this poll is too vague. KI & CP have such different settings, I don't think they can be compared.
  11. ^ Absolutely. Just look at the amount of wood vs. steel coasters built over the last 30 years.
  12. ^ I think it is safe to say, there will never be another coaster associated with the name "Beast". There is also a significant difference between a "loop" and a "rolling inversion".
  13. The trim brakes are there for both maintenance issues & ride comfort. Comfort side- Beast, if left untrimmed, is reportably unbearable (this was a comment made back in 1979 during test phase- I unfortunately cannot find the article containing this info). Maintenance side- while Beast (and most other wood coasters) is constantly worked on, if there were no trims, the time & money needed to keep up with issues would increase significantly.
  14. ^^ Unfortunately, when policies like this change, it is often a reaction to an incident. Or, policies change because we have learned from mistakes- smoking in hospitals & airplanes come to mind as an example.
  15. http://www.latimes.c...0,2075162.story Similar KIC discussion: http://www.KICentral...__1#entry433818 http://www.KICentral...__1#entry427220 From USH: http://www.universal...e2012Online.pdf
  16. ^ That is, assuming of course, this is the same repeated issue.
  17. What kind of suit does she wear?
  18. They would just push you down the drop. lol And that has been done.
  19. SeaWorld appeals killer-whale safety ruling http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-07-10/business/os-seaworld-appeals-killer-whale-ruling-20120710_1_seaworld-trainers-tilikum-dawn-brancheau
  20. Florida is also a much older state (as in age of residents) and one of the most attractive family destinations in the World.
  21. Being a parent of kids near the same age, and knowing how my kids will answer a direct question without being 100% clear, the child may have been with another adult that was not his parent. One can only hope that was the case here.
  22. Then that 1 day visitor should think twice about going to CP or most other parks.
  23. ^ The whole "TG treatment" is a farce. TG is a brand new coaster with a similar layout to the coaster formerly know as TG.
  24. From the CP website, Saturday FL is still $65. I am glad to see FP prices increase. This way, it is more attractive to one day visitors than it is to SP holders which will clog up the system.
