^ It comes down to enthusiasts splitting hairs. Some would not call post-loop SoB a hyper because it is wood. IMO- TTD has an inversion; most don't agree. But since my opinion is the only one that counts, TTD now has an inversion.
-
Except on Sundays.Brown- ever faithful.
-
I don't see how an inversion can exclude the true meaning of hypercoaster which is a general term for coasters over 200'.
-
hoos? Really? Moving on.....
-
^ Given that information, I would assume a specific part was needed that was not on hand.

There is something seriously wrong with our society's general mentailty when getting sued is more important than a human life. -

I just wonder if they would have been offered their jobs back if there was not not such a media outcry. -
No matter what color, they all fade with age.

First, it's POLL.B- only enthusiasts really care. Guests at the park will show interest because they are at the park that day, but will quickly forget about SoB driving away.
-
It is amazing what you can see when intentionally looking for something specific.

This deserves to go under "Funniest Rumors" thread.

Most of this has been mentioned in a previous life, but for those unaware, please take note. SoB needs more than just tweeks. Given the park has publicly disclosed that they are not satisfied with the ride experience, the ride needs major work to even reopen. If the ride would be operated again with just a few "tweeks" and another incident were to happen, the lawsuits against the park would be non-stop and could very well end KI as we know it. Drastic statement? Yes. Possible? Let's just say it is not impossible. Return on Investment (RoI) is also a major issue here. CF is in the business of entertainment, not printing money. SoB is already one of the most expensive non-themed coasters in the World. And still it sits. The ride's original price tag is in the $15- $20 million range, and with all the modifications that price tag is somewhere around $30 million. And again, still it sits. SoB is "The Money Pit". Just because you throw cash at something, does not mean it will work. The park (this includes both owners during SoB's existence) has hired numerous firms in the business over the past 12 years, and still it sits. Again, these are people in the business, and they have not been able to figure it out. At this point, even finding a firm to work on SoB will be a challenge. SoB has had more than just problems when it actually operated. Ohio Dept. of Agriculture inspected SoB 6 times in 9 seasons. That is more than any ride in the state. http://news.cincinna...n-any-ride-Ohio Simple retracking is not SoB's issue. Retracking, especially in the rose bowl, has been done. Retracking does not prevent "shuffling", as has always been the case with SoB. Riders should pay attention to warning signs. That said, how do you know they didn't? If that same rider has been on 100 coasters over 10 years with the same warning, and had ZERO issues, then went on SoB and suddendly had a "pre existing condition" injury, is it truely "pre existing"? Or did the condition come to light because of one coaster? The ride is not worth it anymore. Cut the losses and move on. IMO the park is wise to invest our money on other attractions & making our experience more enjoyable. Investing in SoB is not a wise decision.

And if I am not mistaken, Magnum was the last.

It is a voluntary program. -
I would guess piece by piece as much as possible, just a guess though.

NOAA approved CP (not KI) as "storm ready". http://www.stormread...communities.htm So yes, you are out of the loop. -
Any new information & even some old information about SoB deserves to be catagorized as a "rumor".

That is a rather loud (and necessary) warning! More info: http://www.wkyc.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=243462 -
Hey, if you want a piece of wood that gives you pain, I can use a 2x4 & whack you over the head with it. Seriously, SoB SBNO is causing zero issues. Once a plan for the area is finalized, it will be dismantled. Think of it this way: why do the same thing twice? A new project will need equipment for construction. Why not wait, and then bring in the equipment to take the existing structure down and then use the same equpiment for the new project?
-
^ ahhhh, that's where I'm getting confused. I couldn't figure out how you can see the 2012 SC construction & SoB's loop in the same pic.
-
^ While it may have looked like SoB's loop, I'm pretty sure it was reported to be dismantled & scrapped after the removal in 2006. Info: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/17050-son-of-beasts-loop/

^ I can remember, many years ago a security guard in a cat-bird tower (on the grassy blvd.) watching the cars in the parking lot. Years after that, the parking lot was patrolled by bicycle security (or perhaps it was both??) Nonetheless, the lockers could be $.50, and people would still use stupid excuses for not using them. The excuses would then be: I didn't want to stand in line and wait for quarters, the lockers never work, I don't want to carry the key, I couldn't find one, I don't want to put quarters in each time I open the locker.... etc....etc.... the list of bullcrap excuses goes on. Accountability is gone and finger pointing rules the roost. Many today can't ever admit they made a bad decision, but they will throw everyone (including their own grey haired grandmother) under the bus when their bad decision blows up in their face.
