  1. Sounds like a hydraulic leak. I assume the shock absorbers use normal hydraulic fluid, which is clear. Given it was raining, and they wiped down the car, they were troubleshooting which absorber the leak was coming from.
  2. Or the RoI did not support a/c or the cost of repainting the continuous "melting" rust streak the a/c caused.
  3. I have. Not only have I seen it at an amusement park, but managed some in the service industry.
  4. Attorneys are supposed to make anyone/ anything look bad and vise-versa. Sure, an attorney can twist a park's desire to squeeze as much time out of their employees, yet, the park is not suggesting an employee to skip a step or cut corners. ANY employer want as much out of their employees as possible and a happy medium needs to be found between speed & simply not performing the job effectively.
  5. If the article is correct that the unconfirmed winged coaster will be the longest in the park, it will be longer than MF's almost 6600'. For comparison's sake, Beast is almost 7400'. That will be one LONG coaster!
  6. Quick fixes are often used on machines. Quick also means short term. DB's issue is quite interesting as it will take 4 days to complete the fix. I am curious to see if DoA testing will be part of the 4 days. If so, the "routine maintenance" is anything but.
  7. Comparing FD to SoB??Really??
  8. Informing people of CP up North? -or- Planting the seed for people to purchase CF season passes in 2013?
  9. Too costly to take down?No room to store parts? No time to do work? The list goes on...
  10. Something original like: Winged Dispatch Transport themed as a robotic flight to the Bering Sea.
  11. I was just thinking: KI used to have a ride that could stop your heart, and start it as well....

  13. Halloweekends is not nearly as scary as HH. It is not easy to fill hotels without families.
  14. ^ The media has a tendency of only seeing what that want to see. Given the Fair Board's reputation with the former proprietors, a unbiased report would be difficult to imagine.
  15. This whole story tastes like sour grapes.
  16. I would be shocked to hear they said anything different than what can be found in the rider safety guidlines. http://www.visitking...afety_Guide.pdf
  17. Woah! Slow down cheetah! This is an article from March 7th. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25176-six-flags-magic-mountain-spills-plans-for-record-setting-coaster/
  18. Not winterizing shows incompetence, and has nothing to do with safety. Possible lawsuit? Maybe. A lawsuit can be filed for just about anything. Will a lawsuit settle anything? I doubt it. Who knows what the lease stipulated or if the statute of limitations has been reached. Extending the opt out was a smart move by the Kochs especially if the park is in as bad as reported.
  19. While visiting the local casino/ horsetrack to place a couple bets on the Derby, I noticed a large portion of the public walkway/ viewing area was formerly a parking lot- with parking lines clearly visable (the track was built a few years after the casino). And the first thing I thought of was: where is the coaster?? Honestly, it doesn't make much of a difference to me if the land is cleared for a non-usable grassy area or not.
  20. Nice job of the monster to rectify the situation, but the mother should have made a better decision than to bring a young child. I am a parent of young kids (older than the one in the story) and there is no way I would even think of bringing my kids to HH at night.
  21. Given that we have information on a new coaster, and, there is a great amount of work to be done before opening day 2013, I assume work would begin during the season and DT/ SS would close early. (but I also assumed DT would be around for 2013, so you see how accurate I am! ) When? Good question. Perhaps both rides will stay open. But let's lay it all on the table. The park did not come out with this info, a local paper did. There is a possibility the info the paper provided is not 100% accurate. So to answer your question , someone knows, it just has not been made public yet. Even if the rides do close early, don't let that stop you from visiting the park. Neither ride is a game breaker & being closed should not sway your decison.
  22. SoB is a zombie coaster. This is a zombie thread. Neither will ever be truly dead as someone, somewhere, will still believe. (make-believe, yet still believe )
