^ And unfortunately did not end for a handful of years. http://pentecostalevangel.ag.org/News2002/4585_reconciliation.cfm

My guess is that the detector installation was blamed on 9/11, but had more to do with the racial tension- is sounds better to blame it on an issue that is known nationwide vs. issues that happened in KI's backyard. Especially since the detectors were installed in 2003, and 9/11 was in 2001. The timing does not add up.

Honestly, just have fun. Each trip will bring new surprises & new outlooks.

^ KD had detectors on my trip in in '98 that were installed in the mid 90's & Canada's Wonderland had detectors installed after a shooting in 2003.

Luminosity, Powered by Pepsi

GREAT VIDEO! Is it safe to assume GW will be part of Luminosity? -
I can remember as a young enthusiast, 22 years ago, thinking: Why would anyone want to fly to Alaska?
-
BGW has a tram and a premium lot for twice as much. People still fill the premium lot, and end up walking further. BGW has purchased new electric trams like KI would have to? I did not know that.
-
Silly me. I always believed only SoB, the ride, should be sponsored by Aleve.

Yes, and if DT would happen to be removed, it would leave only 3 of 16 (Jr. Gemini & Woodstock Express being the other 2) coasters for guests over 46" & under 48" to ride, thus a "hole" for those "in-between" riders, unless the rumored jr. coaster takes DT's place.
-
^ I agree that if they have no intention of enforcing it to drop it, but I have not seen a park employee intentionally refusing to enforce the rule and ignore the rule breaker. Accountability starts with those disregarding the rule.
-
Insurance, maintenance, and staffing costs also have to be considered. Combine that with losing the appeal of Premium Parking income, may halt any consideration of trams.
-
Very true, yet, neither of those examples have the size or deconstruction time needed to remove DT building & ride. Think more along of WWL removal at end of 2005 for Maverick in 2007 and DD removal in 2009 for OM replacement leading to WS in 2011.

Opening day weather forecast not looking so good

Oh my...... -
Will responding make a difference?

What would that be?

Metal detectors installed= 2002 Trams last ran= 2005-'06 Other than that, what do the trams have anything to do with the metal detectors?
-
And if the dummy gets stuck on the ride during the first test run of the season, they call it a wet dream.
-
Only a dummy would ride a first test run of the season.

^^ That is a great question. Was the advanced engineering part of the $25 million? Just throwing some numbers & ideas around: I could not find a cost for Raging Bull, but Apollo's Chariot, which were both B & M's first hypers in 1999, cost $20 million. DB & Behemoth both were about $22 million (Behemoth in Canadian= $ 26 million) in 2009 & 2008 respectively. TTD and later the larger & faster KK were both $25 million. EDIT: there has also been rumors about the "on property" dorms for employees being removed due to their age.
-
Although I have anticipated the removal of DT for some time, removing it would leave a riding hole for the guests with "in-between" height (under 48" but over 46"). CP would also lose a large "on property" storage facility. If DT is removed & if the rumors are true, CP could be adding a Jr. coaster for those with "in-between" height as well as a large coaster. I just don't believe it will be for 2013 as, if recent history is followed, DT would already be removed making way for a 2013 expansion.

Don't sweat it. Only the 25 day forecast is accurate.... -
KI smoking areas will now have CPR 1st responders at each side of the area. and I'm a smoker......
-
Absolutely. That often happens. Especially when the actual holiday falls on a Saturday. Yet, there will be some that do not agree with FL and blame the long wait specifically on that. Of course those days with long waits will come on a Saturday/ Sunday/ holiday weekend when many of regular park guests know it will be busy and need to blame a poor decision on something else other than their own bad decision.

Opening day is all about using your head over emotion. The weather is always questionable. Rides constantly go down. Employees are fresh fish. Crowds: who knows? Etc..... If I was down there, would I go? yes. (I never claimed to be smart )
