^ Sometimes crap happens, and it all happens at the same time. -B & M coasters do not have a reputation of being maintenance nightmares. - DZ was struck by lightning. Can't plan for acts of God nor can anyone predict what issues, if any, will result from such acts. - WS being down should not come as a surprise. We knew it was coming.
-
So? Only a select group knows why the modifications were scheduled the way they were. Honestly, daily operations for both parks practically started at the same time. If CP had more outings reserved, why not modify their WS first? Not everything has to be a conspiracy against KI.
-
My guess is that there are only "x" number of employees that can work on WS. If most/ all WS needed modification (including the building/ assembly of the new WS) they all cannot work on each one at the same time.
-
^ That would then send many down to WS only to be disappointed, and walk away angry.

This should send Fast Lane whiners complainers for a loop: http://travel.famili...strapped-flyers

I'm surprised that was even mentioned.

Where is B & M?.... Do we need to drive there?.... I've got a full tank of gas!! How can I help!!!!! True story: In 2000, MF was struck by lightning on a Friday night frying CPU part. CP maintenance big-wig (Monty?) took red-eye flight to Switzerland and brought CPU part back to CP at 9:00pm-ish Saturday. CP kept MF operating till 2:00am.
-
^ Given that.... It must not be a KI off the shelf part needed, but rather an ordered part from B & M. Let's hope it gets up and going for the weekend! I can only imagine the lines for the other rides with DB being down (as well as all the whining about FL for other rides).

Intresting. I would have thought Carowinds & KD would be on the same type system, oh well. Too bad for the trouble, but at least they make it right.
-
^ No issues at Carowinds?

I have been surprised about all the static pass holders have been getting for ERT this year. It has been more vocal this year than in past.

CP Opening Day May 12 - trip report & park changes
Browntggrr replied to countess_of_tuscany's topic in Trip Reports
^CP's carts have a safety stop when one of the carts "crashes". Once the "crashed" cart is pointed in the correct direction, the stop is released and racing resumes. -
Most influencial person/people in the amusement park industry
Browntggrr replied to BB1's topic in KI Polls
As we have seen, there are many that could make this list. There are many opinions, good opinions, that can be discussed. Chances are, none are wrong. That said, one of the largest entertainment companies in the World started with one man and a mouse. The vision Walt Disney had in the late 1940's/ early 50's is almost unimaginable even by today's standards. Cedar Point has been around since 1860 and is argueably the best park most know of. Disnyland came about almost 100 years later- and look at the standard the Disney parks have set in the industry with almost 100 less years. Many of the names mentioned certainly deserve credit, but none have contributed more or have had their hands in more things "amusement" than Walt Disney. -
I don't know why I believed the Kochs were from KY, nonetheless when KK was sold in 1997 it drew more than Churchill Downs.
-
What a great marketing campaign this could be. It hits locals from two directions. Louisville's # 1 attraction is back under new ownership by Kentucky's own favorite fun family.
-
Perhaps if Mr. Hart had 60+ years of family success instead of 8 it could have become a reality again.
-
And is there a more historically successful amusement family than the Kochs to see that failure does not happen again at KK? They have already successfully negotiated a negative sticking point the former proprietors could not get out from.
-
It's a good thing the article provided, from 2000, cannot be forgotten by any of us. It is also a good thing that the family also follow Bill & Pat's wishes:
-
Reading the article, it is obvious HW has not been their only focus as Koch family has been part of numerous business ventures owned by Ho Ho Holdings LLC. The Koch family has shown a successful history of maintaining their current business while successfully exploring new ventures. Given their history, it is insulting to predict they cannot handle it. We also know that the entire management team is not going to be associated with BB.

Are there underground storm shelters at KI?
Browntggrr replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
Sounds like a cold dish. -
Unless HW is being used as collateral for a loan, which would make ZERO sense, this cannot harm HW at all. Also- given that not all HW shareholders are included in BB, HW cannot be legally touched. (i.e. if a business fails and is an S-Corp, the owner(s) cannot be sued for personal wealth or material belongings not located on business premises. In the HW case- all shareholders would have to sign off HW as collateral, since we know this not to be the case, HW cannot be touched.)
