FUN Q2 Results

I find it intresting that Six Flags in- park cap spending increased 4% to $17.08 & CF increased 1% to $38.95. http://investors.sixflags.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=61629&p=irol-newsArticle_Print&ID=1588338&highlight -
I am surprised that there have not been police reports of the cars being into. Even when I Googled it, nothing came up- which leads me to believe the stories are fabricated (which we all know never happens on the internet ).

I wonder if there are codes for business property as well.
-
^ What code would that be? I only ask because I am used to, in PA, that if a vehicle is on my business property illegally, it is my right to have the car towed w/o signs posted.

2 World Records Set At Cedar Point
Browntggrr replied to ki4evr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Beach balls? meh.... They should have gone for the record for bouncing basketballs! That would surely get a reaction. -
Don't take the wallet or the cell unless you plan to get a locker & get a strap for your glasses.

Counting down the hours until KI & CP opened while wishing I was at SFOG enjoying their rides for the past few weekends.

^ Many things are different for the Southern states. I'm not sure comparing the weather in GA and OH is exactly apples to apples.
-
Does SFOG have a DB?

On the serious side: What possible motivation does the park have to install & maintain a/c? Some people cannot clean up after themselves or respect the next person who has to use the restroom (and, no offense to women out there, the ladies restroom is consistantly much worse then the mens). I cannot see how adding a/c units will improve that. Can the park do it? Sure they can. Should they? Absolutely not. It is a waste of money. The a/c will be working non-stop, and installing/ maintaning a/c units is very expensive. Also, was the building constructed with a/c in mind? Adding an element like a/c to an existing older building sounds easy on paper, but it is not even close to being thast easy. Space constraints, power constraints, proper air flow, insulation, environmentally friendly windows all have to be considered. The park needs to spend money in other areas to improve the guest experience, and so far CF has done that, but it is a slow process. How anyone expect everything to be solved at the snap of a finger? We all have to remember, the handful of bathrooms were not constructed under CF's leadership. I'll say it again: If the park acted on every guest complaint, there would be no direction. Now if the park constructed new restrooms as part of a building for food or sales, it would be foolish not to have a/c. Honestly, I have never even thought about a/c in all the restrooms.
-
Perhaps it is not that easy, and more time is spent in the restroom than on rides, thus, a/c is very important. Maybe KI can get Flomax as a sponsor?

Old Paramount (Viacom) vs. Cedar Fair Managments at KI
Browntggrr replied to KILateNighter's topic in Kings Island History
How is removing queue TV's irresponsible? -
I can use a restroom all winter, but I cannot ride a coaster all winter. I'll take a clean park with good rides over a/c in the restroom any day.

Old Paramount (Viacom) vs. Cedar Fair Managments at KI
Browntggrr replied to KILateNighter's topic in Kings Island History
Paramount's comeback of WF, an event they first cancelled less than a year of purchasing the park in 1992, was nothing more than window dressing for a potential suitor. With the exception of accepting admission, Paramount did not put their heart into WF. -
Many, many, many reasons why it won't open tomorrow. Intresting.... That leads me to believe it is more than just a chain issue. I'm glad to hear it was just a chain issue!

Perhaps KI could teach some people proper bathroom etiquette. I have lost count on how many times other guests have left truly disgusting things (i.e. not flushing, not aiming, not lifting seat, purposely clogging toilet etc.) that have nothing to do with air conditioning.
-
^ If you heard the chain operating, I don't see why opening would not be tomorrow.

Gay couple asked to reverse shirt at Dollywood
Browntggrr replied to ChazyG's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
How is being asked to turn a shirt around anything like this: http://www.rosaparks...44:who-what-how I cannot see how refusing to give up a seat to a white male (because you are African-American) is even close to being asked to turn a shirt inside out when the sexual preference of the bearer of the shirt was never disclosed. If the bearer of the shirt was strait, would you still feel she is like Rosa Parks? While you and I understand the shirt is a play on words, others may take the "gay" part as slang/ offensive and question it. The last thing anyone wants on their vacation is to have kids questioning what "gay marriage" is/ means at Dollywood. There is a time and place for those conversations, and Dollywood is not that setting.
