While it is a park rule, let's not take it to the next level and say the park is not being family friendly due to the same exposure that can be seen at other very family friendly venues.
  2. I don't see how any seasonal park open approximately 150 days/ year have a theme as popular as HP. There would be no way to satisfy all the fans in such a small window of opportunity.
  3. Sounds to me that none of the ride ops had the testicular fortitude to step up and say "this is not right". Yet, blame cannot be put on the shoulders of just the ride ops, as cruel as it may sound, the victim also should have had the sense of what he was choosing. There is a visible sign concerning the need for legs. We all know that many guests don't pay attention to signs, as a disabled vet, he should paid attention more than the average guest.
  4. Trails are easily moved and KI has a large amount of woods to choose from.
  5. Come Pride Night. Every Year they have a DJ streaming all throughout the park. I thought that the "streaming" were just floats featuring Liza Minnelli & Elton John!
  6. ^ Nice idea, if the manipulation angle can be eliminated. Those who are "friends" of employees can give credit where it is not due & those same people can also discredit others that actually deserve it.
  7. Waldameer in Erie has a VERY nice log flume- no $5.00 needed & built just a few years back.
  8. - Add a resort hotel that includes a sit down restaurant. - Add a relaxing log flume through the woods that cools you off w/o being soaked.
  9. I would prefer a park wide sound system (speakers) hooked up to a DJ booth located in the former Tower Gardens. The park could use the interactivity between the rides (queues) and the gardens area to their advantage.
  10. Ahh, the cost of maintenance. I personally don't see this as a major issue. Shutting down 1 hr. after the park closes (instead of 1.5 hrs.) & not operating late on E-nights is not that much of a change. This decision is the lesser of two evils (the other one being the Monorails taking themselves out of service during the day). The Disney bus system is nothing short of fantastic.
  11. People treat the TV's just like signs- they are ignored. Combine that with the: cost of the TV's, maintenance of the TV's, cost of the videos, and the cost of ASCAP & BMI, (and other costs) the TV's were probably found to be an unnecessary expense.
  12. As terrible as it sounds, when does common sense become a factor? The restraints primarily restrain legs. And since it is uncommon, why not get in touch with a supervisor to ask a question? Safety first- two heads are better than one.
  13. No, but The Bat had like the exact same floorless cars as vampire. Tis what I thought! Thanks! Bat & TG did not have those cars. http://www.KICentral...?album=1&pos=40 As you can see in that pic, the brakes were located under the car (thus floorless could not be accomplished). The brake placement, along with a number of other issues, led to Bat's demise.
  14. At one time, those rides had full queues. Anymore, full queues on those rides only happen on very busy weekends. It is simple supply and demand. Busier rides will get extra treatment on the non-essentials.
  15. In a nutshell: if the ride was sinking, the rails would be cracking at the weld due to the pressure of the sinking footers. The "sinking footers" only appear the way. Normal erosion will move dirt (which ends up to be grass) to different sides of the footer (anyone that has done maintenance on home landscaping has seen this).
  16. Getting rid of Paddlewheel Excursions would be an epic failure along the same lines as removing Raptor. Is it possible? Sure, anything is possible- which is why I continue to play PowerBall.

So beaches, pool parties, water parks, and most especially- indoor water resorts are not for families anymore?
  18. Arrgh! Truely sad for both the park & victim's family. That said, he had no legs. WHAT WAS THE PARK/ OPERATOR THINKING? The restraints are primarily for legs. http://www.rcdb.com/541.htm?p=12441
  19. You Tube

  21. I was thinking the same thing especially since many Arrow coasters using like parts (chains, lifts, wheels etc. may be swapped out between Vortex & AE or even CS & Magnum @ CP) Or perhaps the parts are not on hand because they were recently replaced prior to the park opening.
  22. Busted bad? Is there a busted good or busted mediocre? (BTW- I'm just playing! )
  23. At the locally owned Waldameer- all day lockers are $9 with a $5 deposit, or you can get single use lockers for $.75. SFGA- small= $12, Medium= $15, Large=$18. All lockers are electronic. No deposit. SFMM- $11, $14, $17 Raging Waters, San Dimas, CA- $8 or $13 with $5 deposit.
