  1. They are doing ride training today, so there are a lot of rides running.
  2. No matter what the prices are, people will pay it for convenience. Those options are nice for people who regularly attend the park, or who don't mind losing a chunk of their day to leave and eat. Too bad they don't benefit the employees, well not during work at least.
  3. But it is a Mondial... I think testing will go well. They do have one positive, that being there are 4 opening at once. Unfortunately it seems as though KI's is going to open first, therefore being the test dummy. I trust KI to get it done.
  4. I am thinking Urgent Scare will either be gone or will be drastically different this year because of this.
  5. Suit may be a little much. A shirt and tie would not. You will be more likely to be hired if you are overdressed than underdressed.
  6. I'm sure the construction crew has a deadline they have to meet. If they are behind schedule, they'd work all night if they had to.
  7. There is an inherent risk in doing about anything. One of my hobbies, motorcycles, are also very dangerous. Am I going to stop riding? No. For Eurobobbles to be installed at KI, I'm 100% sure there is some sort of emergency plan in the event that someone does pass out, a ball begins filling with water, etc.
  8. Mad Mex is the tallest player in the league, for sure.
  9. I like it. In fact, I like it more than the previous year's maps.
  10. If I owned CF I would probably start by having ERT on Vortex and WindSeeker instead of Diamondback and Beast. I'd add an upcharge Dinosaur attraction somewhere in Coney Mall. I'd also probably hire a really good marketing guy that would get 40+ pages of discussion off of a couple pictures in the snow and a few teasers.
  11. Anyone ever think that there is potential of there being no elevator? As far as walking up a 230 foot lift hill I believe that they are supposed to have some sort of harness on.
  12. I really think you guys are taking this way too seriously. There is definitely a huge difference in taking a commercial elevator to the top of Eiffel Tower compared to taking a maintenance elevator to the top of Drop Tower. Not to mention there are many safety practices that have to follow. If you think there is any real reason to have a real ride operator up at the top of the ride you aren't thinking clearly. Even if there was a control panel up there, which would be insane for Mondial to place in that spot, they would reroute the lines and put it on the ground where it is more safe for SEASONAL employees to use. There may be a maintenance box at the top, but even that seems unlikely.
  13. I think it was a great idea. The Zoo of all places should focus on green energy as they have the Botanical Garden. I'd like to see more large scale solar installations in this area.
  14. It's definitely plausible. I would go ahead and say only 3 people for sure probably know how the ride is supposed to be operated at Kings Island at this point.
  15. My money is on Sponge Bob Square Pants sometimes in 3D. As for the line, I'm sure it's going to be interesting back there this year, that's for sure.
  16. They probably ran out of time to take them down, if it takes them almost 2 months to set up for the haunt, I would imagine it takes about as much time to take it down.
  17. Could it have been to ease construction? I was confused why they would go from pavers to concrete.
  18. RaptorGuy, stop it. You are acting absolutely ridiculous. KI does not make very much money off of the people on this site and/or other coaster sites. The majority of their money, I would argue, comes from families who visit the park just once or twice a year. Not saying that season pass holders aren't important, because they are. However, you have to understand they are going to cater to the majority of the pass holders, which are not on this site. I know many people that are happy that WindSeeker is on ERT. Secondly, this attraction should be pretty neat. Yeah it's an upcharge, it was probably extremely expensive and they have to work on their profit margin. Also, it could have to do with keeping that area in good condition. If people have to pay to get in to see it, they are less likely to destroy it. Also, can you imagine how packed it could be back there on a busy Saturday if it were free. There are many factors in this. If anyone thought this was a thrill ride or a fix to Son of Beast this year, they just aren't realistic. The park opens in 6 weeks, they wouldn't be announcing a thrill ride 6 weeks before the park opens, they wouldn't even have time to build it, look how long Diamondback, Son of Beast, and The Crypt took to build. They all had construction the year before. The park even said it was for this year. Lastly, the manufacturer is Mondial not Mo Dual, and I'm sure the park got some sort of discount for buying more than one. Otherwise, I doubt they would have purchased as many as they did.
  19. There is this miraculous thing called google, you could use it to find out what Yabba Dabba Doo is.
  20. ^ I have a feeling that you are wrong.
  21. Needless to say, it will be pretty interesting on Friday. I would say that the goose has flown the coupe in this thread, looking too far into it.
  22. The key being is that the Eiffel Tower is an observation deck, on which guests walk around. They are taken up in an elevator designed to carry what? Guests. The top of WindSeeker could be made safe, yes, but there would be no reason for anyone to be up there nor would I want to work up there. And yes, I have actually operated on the decks of the Eiffel Tower.
  23. ^ You are really going to stick it to them financially. Even if everyone on this webpage boycotted buying food and drink in the park they wouldn't lose enough money to re-open Diamondback for ERT. And yes I will be in the park opening day.
  24. Absolutely no reason for their to be a ride operator to be staffed at the top of the tower. Anything they would need someone up there for can be accomplished with a camera or cameras. That has to be a mistake or a misread. I'm thinking that structure might be for lockers. I'm sure Cedar Fairs wonderful locker policy will be in use especially with the ride spinning over the midway.
  25. Or perhaps he is covering something else up in that vicinity?
