A lot of adults who missed their dreams of becoming a model or a singer act it out on their children. I do think that some of what is going on to Bindi is what Terri wanted, but not all. And remember, sex sells, and as disgusting as that is revolving around a ten year old, its really the way that the world works. Whoever is in charge of Bindi's career knows this, and uses that to make her more money. What a sick, sick world this is.

Actually Ryan, the stage is still technically there, behind the wintery mural. They took the jut out of the stage that went out into the audience. In all actuality the only remodel they will most likely do is remove the mural and they will have a stage. Also, I remember watching Cheers in the Festhaus. Little bit of trivia, for that show, they used the origonal bar from the show, including the piece that is in the Smithsonean now.

After working in the restaraunt business for a short while, you are normally lucky to hit 10% for the night.

Going back to the free water, I believe there is a state law which mandates that any venue has to offer free water to the patrons BECAUSE of the health risks. As for what the park needs, I really dont want a sit down restaraunt. I like the buffet, but a sit down restaraunt would continually have long lines to be seated, and prices that would be outrageous. Now to be a server at said restaraunt, imagine the 10% tips.....

The place can barely stay open anyway. How would it expand? The picnic business definitely wouldnt have enough revinue to support many more rides.

I know the majority of the stuff in The Crypt is based off of Eastern Religious faiths. What Im mored worried about is this: Yes, the Triangle of Light is mentioned in myth, however if Paramount took liberties to make the Triangle to look more detailed, that drawing is now copyrighted, so the park could not use it. The Triangle of light (off the top of my head) is located in the tunnel, preshow, I think theres a design etched into the stonework of antechamber somewhere, and in the main show (as a big portion of the actual theming.) What Im most worried about is that if KI just removes these copyrighted things, and does not put something in its place, you might as well just rip the thing down.

Actually, WAH was in the Adventure Village area of the park (along with Cafe K and Amazon Falls.) In 1994, WAH was removed, and Top Gun was put in its place, with NO area name change. The name change occured with the entrance of Face/Off and Drop Zone to that area of the park.

heres a pretty decent question from one who has troubles thinking half the time: What exactly are they going to take out of The Crypt? They cant leave the preshow movie or the quotes in, but what else is considered copyright by Paramount on the theming. The "triangle of light" could be a copyrighted design, and such the park would have to take it out of the tunnel as well as out of the main show. Not to mention the Buddah statue that was used in the movie. Any thoughts?

Save the Date: Kings Island's 2008 Opening Day!
SOB_TOM replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I agree. A park sellout on "opening day" is a great way to break in the newbies. Also, the dry run days were not the days that were used to see if everything was 100%. Maintenance does that starting in Feburary. -
Is KI open yet?

Nah, too much airtime for KI

That would have been Josh trying to be a tyrant. Once he went to Beast and you and Baron Von Jacobs were in charge, it was a party everyday. Admit it, even you liked it JonnyP! BTW, I tried to save your recliner from the Party a few years ago, the little one? But my sister threw it out.
-
When did that change? Of course maintenance could bring in pretty much anything they wanted, but thats besides the point. How can they tell you you cant bring in a water bottle?
-
Like I said earlier, it depends who you work with. When I worked SOB/GUN in 02, my supervisors couldnt give 3 empty Mountain Dew bottles on how we felt, but when I went to TRTR in 03, I had the best time because our sups went out of the way to make sure we were happy. Its all about your co-workers. KI_man, I know how things work in the park. I worked in rides and in maintenance. I drank from the same water jugs (on occasion) that you guys did. All you have to do is in the morning, go to a place that has pretty decent water and fill your jug up there. Or even better, bring your own water bottle filled with water. Its not that hard.

Full timers dont really have it much better than the seasonal staff. More stress for a couple dollars more and health benefits. KI_Man, if you dont like the water, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR IT! Also, if you are a minor, you have at least a 30 minute break. Over 18 technically does not require a break. So even if you get a short break, I would be happy. They dont have to give it to you. I enjoyed my time spent at the park as a technician/ride op. Its more about who you are around, and not so much of what you do. Thats what I thought.

Community Press Article on Twistin' to the 60s Actress

There is a nice Easter Egg about the park and the chicken dance, can you point it out? Its nice to know that the park is hiring this quality of dancers. It shows an initiative to have the best shows at the park, and it does show. -
49ers Rehuddle In Stadium Hunt
SOB_TOM replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Its California anyway. The people out there are nuts. My neighbor moved from California, and he was complaining about how we have a "fence" around our garden (is one of those dirt-stopper 6" high that keeps the edge of a garden looking neat.) You look in his yard and you see 4 different fences, all of which are over 2' -

Official Poll:What was your favorite part of Halloween Haunt 2007?
SOB_TOM replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I experienced the same thing at the Dent Schoolhouse. I saw numerous parents bring 5 year olds into the house. The only thought crossing my mind was "Do those parents just care about having a good time, or do they really care about their kids?" KI is different, being a family park throughout the year, minus HH. But the same rules apply. Do the parents just want to have fun and just drag their kids along either thinking that the actors will apply different rules for young kids, or do they really have the well-being of their kids in mind? I guess some parents have to be taught the hard way. -
Havent you ever heard of joining the other political party so that you can vote for the one that will be the easiest to beat?
-
Put in an actual go Kart track. That little rinky-dink thing they have there is only good when maintenance has it before the park opens.

Official Poll: After One Season, do you prefer new SOB or old?
SOB_TOM replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Old setup. When I rode it earlier in the season, it was so rough it was not an enjoyable ride. At least with the old setup, it was bearable enough to ride.
