  1. Maverick with Vekoma Vest or Bolinger Mabillard restraint, would be so much better!
  2. count me in as one who liked Ninja quite a bit and got shaken rider syndrome on GC! I have told you though interpreter, I will get back on it in another place in the train, before I completely judge it!
  3. I agree, I dont want the mods to come down too Brisk!
  4. well Im just glad that I hit one, its hard to overcome this aweful Slice!
  5. Interpreter, wipe that look off your mug!
  6. Oh I certainly agree with you, I have stated here in the past that I felt they did have a plan in place. I included the speculation that they didn't, as an appeal to keep people from posting in response that they were trying to find an investor earlier and must not have a good plan! As for the Capital expendidtures, I would personally like that rather than a direct payoff. Creditors may think otherwise, the greedy part of me wants upgrades. I think either idea could work, but paying off creditors is undoubtedly a more sound option and in their situation probably smarter. It would take much further analasys and a real gut-check. Interpreter, what is the feasability of Cedar Fair selling the theme park to the 49'ers for a price less than what is expected as its worth and staying on to run the park as the management team for a yearly payment? The park could immediatly decrease the debt, and although less, still make money from the park via managing it, making both people happy. Could this work?
  7. Not to mention, if the company has a good plan right now as is to pay down the debt, then the extra money recieved from a sale could just go directly into the other parks to help pay down its debt further and bolster infrastructure in some parks. Now obviously there is speculation that a good plan to pay down the debt does not exist, but one can hope, and I for one would like to see some of that cash go into a "buying of time" of sorts to lower food prices and better Kings Island. Note, I do realize that creditors will have a great say on where that cash goes, if a sale is made! (For those younger viewers out there who may not understand the importance of creditors in a situation like this....I will let Interpreter fill you in...ive typed enough!)
  8. And, wouldnt you know it, the media around here is showing all the pictures of the ride when it is upside down in an inversion. As if it was valleyed out, and even suggesting that riders were all upside down for two hours. Just crazy, to hear you local news man talk about how the train was stuck in an upside down state for two hours, and show still shots of a train from maybe three days ago passing through an inversion passing them off as not just a still, but what actually happened. Makes me sick.
  9. That was a great article and an entertaining read, sounds like they have the recipe down, and line drawn.
  10. The park was empty today, everyone I talked to said that Firehawk even had a line no longer than 10 minutes all day. I was at Racer/Monster and we never had even a minute wait.
  11. Im going to start calling you Six Flags...or do you prefer Geauga Lake?
  12. haha a certain song with the lyrics, "I heard it through the grapevine" comes to mind.
  13. Its like that old western line that we all know of, "Cut 'em off at the pass". i.e. figure out where you are gonna make your stand and put everything you have into it.
  14. That is why you can't always believe what you read. However, earlier in the second article it states that it will be the first with out a "nearby amusement park" not neccesarily a Disney Amusement Park.
  15. I completely disagree. The park Representative (unless he/she has been bombarded by fuming guests) just sees one side to the issue, and only ONE issue. That issue will not get acted upon until the guest experience has been duplicated. For one because the guest could be giving a "story" and two, the situation may have been specific to some other criteria. Surveys however are compiled, and compared, and contrasted. Responses are grouped, ordered, and typically acted upon in order of complaints in any form of business in any time period. Although with a survey you cant put a personal spin on each response or a name or even a face, you can find out whether an incident is isolated or not, and that gets much quicker attention than one personal response to an employee that can be quickly thrown out when it is learned that the responder has other things on their mind, which could have caused the situation or a skewed view of the situation in its entirety!
  16. As far as the parks current infrastructure in that part of the park goes, that is about all that could fit in X-base!
  17. wow, everytime Ive tried to ride SOB which is 8 times the line has been about a half hour long. One exception was on a wednesday at like 1 PM when everyone in the park seems to eat, the wait was 5 minutes for the front seat!
  18. That quote says it all, by seemingly saying nothing.
  19. I can only speak of this...They hand out candy. There is a special fun haunt for kids and parents, called the "big top" I believe or something like that. And, a guy that juggles while on stilts, and some other small fun for kids type features (Talking to a pumpkin). Thats about it, other than the great rides and attractions in Nick Universe.
  20. yeah, a few changes may just pull them out of that debt that is keeping them from making the changes! Did that make any sense? (It did to me) Oh I love business strategy!
  21. Yep like comparing apples and oranges...they do make a dandy fruit salad. Or Peanut butter and Jelly....aw hell they do make a wonderful sandwich...wait...what am I trying to say? Noone hit me with their keyboard...just trying to lighten the atmosphere and make some what of an interpretable post!
  22. Says the guy who works in games... You and I both know that sometimes even Eco knows what happens...Its never what you know but who you know that told you what you know. And even bottom line ride ops nor their supervision even know whats going on or "know people"......no matter how much some seem to think so....they seem to butcher their perception of the truth. Agreed! Just there are special cases. Once in a great blue moon.
  23. Yeah, I'm with Ronny here. I love the front seat ride...very very smooth. Actually I would go so far as to say my front seat rides on SOB were the fastest smoothest rides in the park! Now, the backseat is a complete other story.
  24. Exactly, and for your low ridership/large footprint idea, I hate to tell you but Beast hasn't had much of a line all year! But, that doesnt mean its not moving the same amount of people as any other ride there! The addition of Coasters like Robbie said makes lines shorter and paths less crowded, that is a plus!
