  1. Wow I love the new skin! I just logged on for the first time today and it looks great!
  2. I like the site. The interface is nice and simple. I don't like the selection. It basically comes down to "Which Diamondback Merchandise do I want?"
  3. Roughest: SoB. Even if it opens again, it'll never see me. I've ridden it 6 times and that's 6 times too many. Hated on: The Beast. I remember when The Beast was really a fantastic woodie. Then came the trim brakes. Then came more trim brakes. It's still a great ride, but honestly it's on the verge of boring any more, in my opinion. I'm certainly going to catch some flack for saying it, but that's just what I think.
  4. Not really... We basically know where we stand right now. The park is going to announce at some point this off season what they're going to do about Son of Beast. Everyone has already made their guesses. Right now all we can do is wait.
  5. I remember that video from the year it came out. Having never seen an inverted coaster before, I was obviously extremely excited about it. We went to the Point that year and waited about 3.5 hours for a ride on it, but it was well worth it. Still one of the best.

    2009 Goals

^^Very nice Dave. I'll be getting my 100th next month. It feels like I've been on a lot of different coasters, too. If I feel like this at 100, 221 has to be amazing. My goal is to go to 3 parks I've never been to next year.
  7. Check the signature. I had 2 rollbacks, both in the same weekend. Opening weekend 2008, I was on the first train of the season, which is pretty much a guaranteed rollback. Then I was on the 2nd last train of the night on the second day of the season, and the end of the day that day was just a rollback fest. Every train they launched was rolling back. So needless to say I got my 2nd one. Both were fun, but the first launch on opening day wasn't even close to clearing the top. The first car didn't even make it to the crest. To answer the question, it's very fun.
  8. I agree the ERT wasn't great. But that Saturday at the park wasn't even busy at all. My friend and I got 55 rides in that day. Of course the night time raptor ERT didn't hurt .. not to mention being evacuated!
  9. you're a lifesaver haha. thanks
  10. Did KIC undergo a revamp of the forum display, or did I accidentally change something? I'm used to threads showing the standard 20 or so posts per page, and then scrolling through pages to look at various posts. But today I logged on, and now I see the original post, but at the bottom there is a "list" of posts in the topic, and I have to click each individually to look at it. Just curious.
  11. ^^Hey how 'bout that. Sorry about the error I haven't been to Coney in years. I suppose I just assumed they hadn't put one in. Sweet!
  12. So Six Flags Magic Mountain isn't a good amusement park? Nor is Coney Island?

    VIP Rider

If it doesn't have to be at KI, I'm taking Millennium Force. I was considering Voyage, but I think if I rode that for a year straight I wouldn't be "all there" afteward
  14. Kings Island is a park that doesn't really need this, in my mind. There are very few days throughout the summer that you can't get on virtually all of the rides in the park. In parks near large markets, I can see it.
  15. ^^I actually really enjoyed 7th Portal. I'd really love to see some sort of haunted-house themed movie or something, however.
  16. The funny thing is that there is a train with people in it. So there going to destroy it with people on it. wow The REALLY funny thing is that that will be the smoothest ride ever on SoB!
  17. I love when Action Park comes into the foreground of discussion. It's such a dark subject, and yet somewhat comical at the same time.
  18. Nonetheless, this is obviously a Kings Island forum and anyone joining should easily assume that there has been much discussion about SoB on this site. Not to mention the big "Search" button right at the top of the screen..
  19. I do agree that if the tax goes through, it'll be bad for business in the long run. However, Kings Island gets a lot of business from 2 major groups: 1) Gold Pass Holders 2) Families who make 1 or 2 trips per year And personally I don't think the extra $10 or $20 is going to keep them away. Gold passes at Kings Island are actually very affordable when compared to similar passes at other parks. Six Flags Great America, for instance only charges $69 for the pass. But if you want a parking pass, add on another $70 bringing the total to $139. So even if the tax is implemented, I think the park will still sell a ton of passes. The same applies for a family who visits once or twice a season. A day at the park is often a one-day splurge for people, and again it's very inexpensive compared to taking a full vacation or something of that sort. An extra $15 or $20 isn't going to scare off the entire crowd.

    Quick Question

^LOL I agree this is really dumb. Nonetheless, just so I comply with the TOS... Close - Carowinds Renovate - KD Move - Wonderland
  21. ^^The problem with that is, if you move all the theming to the first lift, then you just get a lift at the end of the ride into a brake run. No entertainment value whatsoever. At least with the theming there, you get some sort of entertainment while you're going back up to the station.
  22. Not only WOULD it be scary... it IS pretty scary... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs1ZWfRyGw8
  23. I'll admit it. The rides. I go to parks to ride rides. That's about it. If I'm with people, great. If I'm not, so be it.
