  1. Like jdawg, I will be going to the park tomorrow, yet will not be there that early. I hope those that go have a ton of fun!
  2. The machines in the Diamondback queue were all $3.50. I believe that on Opening Day they were $4.
  3. I saw you yesterday when I was at the park! I loved the shirt. Yesterday was fun, although I didn't get on any of my 3 favorite rides at the park. Diamondback, Beast, and Drop Tower were all closed for me.
  4. I had a chance to talk to Pat, an extremely nice lady. The park is tons of fun, with Voyage and Wildebeest being the standouts.
  5. Going to the park tonight, I hope the line for DB isn't bad. I want my 100th ride!
  6. I'm disappointed to see it go. While it wasn't my favorite ride, it was one of the few coasters my Mom will ride. It was fun riding it with her and I am sad to see a ride our whole family could do together be scraped. I told her a while ago and she was pretty mad. I wonder what could have caused this sudden change of course.
  7. Kings Island: Diamondback/ The Beast Cedar Point: Millennium Force/ Maverick Holiday World: The Voyage Hershey Park: Storm Runner/ Lightning Racers WDW: Space Mountain/ Dinosaur/ ToT/ Test Track Universal Orlando: The Simpsons Ride/ Spider Man Dollywood: Thunderhead
  8. Tasted better, but a burger should be warm! I was disappointed.
  9. I know it is at Extraordinary Burgers. I'm pretty sure that BD's Mongolian Grill got one too. I highly recommend the Cherry, Vanilla Coke.
  10. The lights in the launch tunnel were kept, they look just as good as at Haunt.
  11. That's disappointing. At the Greene in Bevercreek, 2 places have one now, and they are fantastic soda dispensers. I hope that when it gets here, that it will be $2 souvenir refills.
  12. Oh, to be at Kings Island again! The day was wonderful despite the crowds and rain, which mainly died out towards 5 o'clock. The entrance looks really good without the security gates, very open and keeps traffic down. I noticed the new Smartravel stand and I am very happy that it is located outside of the gate, which is nicer than being heckled inside the park. I first rode BBoBH which was a walk-on. Got 1150, which is one of my highest scores! Next we got in line for Diamondback. The queue went through some of the main switchbacks, probably a 20 minute wait normally. Off in the distance, there was a storm a'brewin. Which led to the ride being shut down before we could ride. Knowing that it would be a while, we walked over to FoF and waited about an hour for 2nd row. One thing I noticed, the green lasers that were added to the launch in Halloween Haunt last year, were kept! It's a cool effect and I'm glad to see it still up. When we walked out the exit, the weather was sunny, so all the rides were open. Next, we did Delirium which was about a 30 minute wait, still a fantastic flat ride. After we rode Delirium, we all felt a little hungry. We walked in to the Festhaus and went over to LaRosa's. I decided to try the new "Fresh, never frozen" burger. With fries, it was $10. It was served room temperature, but had decent flavor. I would only have it again if were right off a grill or kept hot. We caught the first part of the British Invasion show, which I enjoyed. Next, we rode Drop Tower, with about a 30 minute wait. I still rank this as my favorite flat in the park. No matter how many times I ride it, I still get a flutter in my chest! Since the weather was nice, we walked back over to Diamondback and waited about 40 minutes for 3rd row. For some reason, the kids in line for the 4th row decided they were going to ride in the 3rd. I decided I would let it go, and hopped in 4th row. The Beast awaited us, and we waited for him for 40 minutes. Part way through our wait, they decided to take a train off. I have no idea why, but operation slowed down with the removal of a train. Rode in the second to last row, which I believe is the best seat for the finale and really has the crazy feel to it.Vortex was next with a 15 minute wait. Rode in the second to last row, and had my smoothest ride on Vortex to date! Racer was next, and it was interesting to see how they've opened up the station. I wonder how they will change the main queue for this change, but it makes it much easier to coordinate with friends who may be riding on the other train. We rode Delirium once more, with a 20 minute wait. It was about 8:30 at this point, I wasn't very hungry so I decide I would try the Churro dippers at Hank's Burrito Shack since they were on the menu. To my disappointment they were out. I could never find the Giant Churros, or the Coke Freestyle machine, that were said to be new for this year. I later got Fried Cookie Dough, which was surprisingly good! Invertigo had a short line, about 20 minutes. The new paint job is a nice improvement, although I wish they had redone the sign, as it is still red/yellow. We walked over to Diamondback again, and found that the line was just the stairs! I rode it three more times in 2nd, 16th, and 15th. An awesome ride all around! We finally hopped in line for a famous Beast night ride. While waiting, talked to some cool people that were getting on the same train as me. Finally got on the last train of the night, 3rd row! A great way to end a great day. I was surprised to see that WindSeeker never opened. It seemed as if the park was doing something with the shock absorbers on all the arms, although I can't be sure. The Crypt looks like barely a thought was put in on how to "cover" it up. At the very least, a sign like Dollywood's with Timber Tower, should be out to inform guests. I am still wondering where the Freestyle machine and Giant Churros are. I guess that's the fun of exploring the park! Thanks for reading!
  13. Leaving around 10- 10:30! Time seems to be moving at a crawl.
  14. I'm disappointed. When I go to the park I'm already heckled to get a picture, I don't want to be heckled for a contest every time I go to the park.
  15. When I was younger, Phantom Theater was always my favorite ride at the park. I would always ride it with my dad the moment we got to the park. I have so many memories on that ride, and that is just one of the reasons I love going back to Kings Island. Kings Island holds a special place in my heart, which is why I can't wait until opening day every year. I hope everyone has a great time tomorrow, because I know I will.
  16. So if I say that a friend said that Cedar Fair bought 2 gigas, that means it's guaranteed?
  17. No it does not. Great way to wait out the rain!
  18. Welcome to KICentral KingsIsland vs. Cedarpoint. I recommend that you read http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4128-terms-of-service/ the KICental Terms of Service. It will help you get around the site and make the best discussion possible! On topic: I am hopeful that something big is to happen at Cedar Point in 2013. Cedar Point has been lacking in big, jaw dropping investments since Maverick. I would love a new coaster, but I would hate for it to be at a cost of something for younger thrill seakers.
  19. Having gone to the park to process my pass yesterday, words can not describe how happy I am to see that most of the old, plain slides are being repainted in bright colors. I noticed that Down Under Thunder (the 4 slides with wooden supports) were being repainted, each in a new color. The water park will be really nice to look at now, it's a welcome addition.
  20. It would be interesting to see how large the branch was. If it was one of the larger branches, it is amazing that it only weighed 5 pounds! I love the Tree of Life, I find it more impressive than Cinderella Castle. It's so detailed and beautiful.
  21. I believe so, considering Flight Deck in the background. I'm pretty sure this is the break run or the station.
  22. I have a feeling the "S" was taken out of paradise from vandals. Get it? Parad-DIE which is what happened to the Beach.
  23. I love the Skyscraper 2 for 1, I've taken advantage of it the past years it's been open. Easily worth the $5 if you split the ticket price with a friend. I also may buy a custom T-Shirt when I go to the park this year, and the burgers sound like they may be good. Actually, any burger is good compared to the old, soggy, greasy ones!
  24. Opening Day 2012 Soak City Opening Day 2012 Holiday World, with at least 10 laps on The Voyage, 1 on Wildebeast, and 1 on Mammoth Every ride at Universal Studios and Seaworld Orlando Hit 100 rides On Diamondback Ride Millennium Force, Maverick, Raptor, and TTD as many times as I can when I visit Cedar Point. All in all, this year should be great for my theme park addiction!
  25. I've been to all 3, and the best is Kalahari. Kalahari is the biggest indoor waterpark in the world, and it has so much to do! It also has the candy shop, which has some excellent homemade treats. GWL was very small, and had not nearly as much to do. CB was a nice waterpark, but our rooms were very dirty. There were Nerdz (the candy) in between the beds, which were never cleaned up by the cleaning crew. The quality of the furniture wasn't great. This was very disappointing. If you want the best experience, I would highly recommend Kalahari.
