  1. My hopes are for an Intamin Plug N' Play that is 200 feet tall and has a loop. Of course, I'm not sure if any company wants to attempt it after the failure that was this ride. Yet, if any company is crazy enough to do it, Intamin would be at the top. Regardless of the roller coaster, I will be happy that something would be coming to Action Zone. It will hopefully lead to a revamp of the area and make it much nicer than it is now.
  2. Seems like the old posts of people walking around saying, "That announcement won't be made for a few months," may have had weight to it. I am happy that a decision was made, it will free a lot of land and will hopefully lead to an Action Zone revamp/expansion.
  3. Hey all! I recently went on a weekend trip to Cedar Point and a 5 day trip to the park and Kalahari. I did so much that it would be best to write about some things I noticed over the trips. Luminosity: Powered by Pepsi!- The big new show at Cedar Point this year and the replacement of the Million Dollar Midway and, possibly, the replacement of Wildcat. After watching some parts of the show on video, I was nervous about how the show would be. We stood towards the right of the stage for the show and watched the competition between the children's dance teams. When they were off of the stage, the drummers and dancers came out and the music started. First of all, the show is INCREDIBLE! While the singing may not be the best ever, the entire show is the closest to a Disney style show I have seen at a park other than Disney itself. The fire effects and fireworks all go so well with the action of the show, that it is truly a spectacle. As long as the show is changed up every year, it will be a hit and a huge step up from the Million Dollar Midway. Dinosaurs Alive!- If you've seen Kings Island's, then you have seen Cedar Point's. Same dinosaurs, same activities, and less shade make it worse than our Dinos. The only plus are the cool views of Millennium Force, which flies right by the dinosaurs. Chet and Matt's Pizza- Finally went here for the first time since visiting for the past 12 years, and YUM! The pizza is great, and I love the building. I would recommend it to anyone that visits the park, just delicious! Thirsty Pony- I also went here for the first time, and this too is delicious! I got the Bubba Hubba burger and it was cooked perfectly and the sweet potato fires were good too. Disaster Transport and Space Spiral- I took my last rides on them on the 25th. Looking back, I would have never been sad to see them go, yet I feel sad that these rides will be going. Yet, I think the new addition will make their sacrifice worth it. Miscellaneous: I can understand wanting operations to be fast, but please, do not push down my OTSR the moment I sit down and hit me in the head. This happened to me twice and it made me beyond mad. There wasn't a single apology given or look of knowing what they just did. Kalahari was great as usual, but their soundtrack is terrible! They play the same 10 songs all day. The words, "Take me down to the little white church," will be forever etched in my mind. Both trips were great and I can't wait to go back with my Cross Country team later this month! Regardless of the operations, Cedar Point is still my favorite park and Kalahari the best indoor waterpark!
  4. Dollywood is a great park! Glad you got to do the ropes course on this visit, I've only done one other and it can't even compare to Dollywood's! I would love to see something like that here, but I think the crowds KI gets would be too much for it.
  5. Reminds me of SOB!
  6. As does Delirium, yet that is still standing.
  7. It's nice having wifi at a park in case there is something you need to check. Cedar Point has wifi and 4 computers available at Donut Time. Was a great use when I was there 2 weeks ago and didn't want to miss any good deals on the Steam Summer Sale!
  8. Yes it did. http://www.toledoblade.com/frontpage/2004/07/14/Cedar-Point-shuts-down-coaster-after-riders-hurt.html
  9. Is this a new record?
  10. I also know how to use punctuation.
  11. Does this mean that Son of Beast will be half the size of The Beast?
  12. Disagree. The Batmen: The Rides prove my point. That an experience can be had at more than one place in the world does not diminish the experience. See also a 2012 Corvette. You no want as they made more than one? Silly. Just silly. See also: Flights of Fear. I believe he is talking about Soak City, unsurprising really.
  13. I like the look of it, organized chaos! As cool as a Ferris Wheel would be, I just don't see a good place for it to be located at the park.
  14. At Cedar Point, the games have some sort of disclaimer that says, "Zippo Lighters are for collective purposes only." I wonder if it's a way to let kids play without any potential trouble.
  15. Never been stuck at Kings Island, or anywhere else for that matter!
  16. I'm not expecting it to be. I was just going off this post.
  17. Having just gotten home from my weekend trip to the Point, I am very excited for a new coaster addition! If it actually is a 4th dimension, I am even more excited! X2 has always been on my coaster bucketlist, and it would rock for a 4D to be closer.
  18. Of course I do not know much about how the ride operates, but when I rode Drop Tower today, it appeared that the motors/brakes were pulled out of their usual positions at the top of the ride. They seemed to be sitting on the blue platform to the side. My guess is that it is a faulty brake or motor that needed to be replaced.
  19. Edit: The post I was talking about was changed.
  20. As Goodyellowkorn pointed out, the ride started off as Scooby Zoom, before being renamed Top Cat's Taxi Jam, then Fairly Odd Coaster, and now the Great Pumpkin Coaster. I'm not %100 sure, but I think that Les Taxis may have been the Rivertown side of the 'tiques. *Sometimes it does look like a fun little ride; the only coaster that could easily fit in my backyard! I believe that it was never the Fairly Odd Coaster, that was the name for the original Scooby Doo coaster, aka The Beastie. Wasn't it Little Bill's Giggle Coaster?
  21. The Great Pumpkin Coaster! When I was very young, I was scared to death of it! I would cry and cry when I rode, now I can't get enough of roller coasters.
  22. The ride experience is more of a tethered hot air balloon that can carry a large amount of people. The ride rises, stays in the air for a while, then comes back down.
  23. 1. Roger Waters 2. Paul Mccartney 3. Them Crooked Vultures
  24. It's always sad to see a coaster get torn down, especially one that I will never get to ride. Seems like an OK ride, I wish I could have ridden it in its original form.
  25. I just wear my flipflops into the river, no chance of being stolen on my feet!
