  1. Thanks to the people that regularly, and occasionally post photos of the constructions areas
  2. Not to mention the old funnel cake building is the first thing you see on the satellite image ground when the train comes out of the station. We already know exactly where the station is, and therefore if it crosses the tracks.. idk why it took me this long to realize that..
  3. If we did then we already knew it was a wooden roller coaster. Even though we've suspected it for a long time. It's hard to figure out a manufacturer for steel roller coasters when it's just footers. But the lack of footers earlier has nothing to do with marketing and keeping the ride hush hush.. they just didnt need to start pouring footers yet in order to finish on time (which is what initially surprised me). If they needed to have the footers in earlier AND they cared about the announcement being a surprise (which it wasnt) then they would've announced earlier .
  4. I'm just surprised we didnt have footers as early as we did with Banshee
  5. I think it was that balancing act that did it in. It was very slow paced, it's a great feat, but in a 25 min show, it's not the most entertaining thing. I've heard that because of rain they've had to cancel a lot of shows and I'm assuming that having a balancing act was what made it so finicky with being able to tolerate even a little rain.
  6. I still recommend waiting till you're at the park. No processing fees and you see the crowds for sure. Id rather spend an extra 10$ than I planned, than to spend 80$ that i didnt need to spend at all
  7. I feel like the end of the season 5pm-10pm days were pretty sparse by routine.. am I remembering that wrong?
  8. Was at the park this evening and it looks to me that either black tarp was put down, meaning the station and shed will all be contained within the tracks... and that means just barely within it.. Or there was black.. something else.. almost lining the railroad track exactly.
  9. Doubtful. There were body parts in that bucket
  10. Gotta be something with zombies with that teaser.. Zombies were in Kill Mart already though. Hmmmm lol
  11. Oh for sure. I'm just saying I need to not get my expectations too high..though this is on a totally different.. platform
  12. Seeing it from the Diamondback cam will still be possible for a few glimpses here and there
  13. I just have to remember.. Cedar Point said Valravn was going to have something never before done in a roller coaster queue.. and it ended up being something along the lines of what Snapchat has been doing for almost a year and a half now.
  14. It's very strong. I probably wouldn't've complained if it didn't cause slight pain.. and then even more pain from the buckle during my first ride.
  15. Right. If he knew, it'd be best to simply say he cant say yet. He's even said in interview that he seriously doesn't know for In The Loop. Edit- probably should've linked it https://youtu.be/awxw2Gvg2eY
  16. I bet it largely depends on how profitable this Winterfest will be
  17. ^^ if they even still have the other two trains.. i'd imagine the origin trains had been used for parts on the 2 surviving trains. Also.. from the video, Mystic Timbers isn't completely contained in the shed for its braking system. They have the brake run before the shed too.
  18. I do hope that they are more creative than just a rope and a guard to block off the rest of the park that wont be used for Winterfest
  19. *preparing for the forums to chuck their theoretical stones and confetti at the park after the announcement is made*
  20. Then what is it about SFOG that makes it able to survive? Were Coney's past woodies actually torn down from damage? Or was the executive move for KI merely because they didn't want to deal with the floods?
  21. For what it's worth.. I just got finished with a day at Dollywood and rode all the coasters excluding Blazing Fury and Sideshow Spin. For MY opinion.. -Lightning Rod is not as fun as Thunderhead, and by extension not better than my favorite woodie Voyage (barely better than Thunderhead) -Lightning Rod is very fun.. the launch is powerful and exciting -I enjoy being tossed around like crazy, but once you finish the last dump to the left.. the airtime is too aggressive. I enjoy ejector, but RMC makes it too much to where having THAT strong of air THAT frequently makes it hurt your upper thighs.. especially with those buckles if they are placed naturally under the bar.. my partner has the bruises to prove it. It's too strong. That was my gripe with Storm Chaser too. It's fun the first few times only. -Lightning Rod is slightly better than Storm Chaser.. There are no awkward and uncomfortable elements like SC's trick-track-double-up or the first turnaround hill transitions.. RMC tends to try to just make things crazy.. and with Storm Chaser they went a little too far. It's more enjoyable to get airtime only than to get airtime at the same time that you're being thrusted to the left and then the right. -The capacity of LR is just fine. Two trains is perfect. The train completes the circuit before the 2nd train leaves. -Reliability of LR is not good. RMC to me seems like it is a new age Intamin in that they make these insane coasters, very fast, and throw you intensely.. but they fail to have a good track record, and their rides break.. plain and simple. Storm Chaser had wheels that had to be changed to different style and wasnt able to be done till halfway through the season. When I rode SC, the blue train was broken and people were working on it the whole day. Lightning Rod was still in ride rehearsal.. Aug 17th. They were doing speed trials at the beginning of the day, two trains.. no problem. Came back later in the day, broke down when we were in line, they sent one train into the maintenence space, and then one train operation. -I didn't experience a bump on the bottom of the first hill.. not sure what that's all about. If you can only feel it in the even rows, it mustn't be that bad of a bump anyways.. seriously. Overall Lightning Rod is a great ride.. good to do maybe 2 times max before I'm over the intense pressure on my legs.. it'd be fine if there was a buckle that connected to the bar or if the female buckle didnt have length and only the male buckle could come across. I'm very fortunate to have had the chance and the weather to ride it and it was amazing. Didnt become my #1 woodie but it's definitely up there! -btw. Lightning Rod, for sake of consistency, will be called a wooden coaster by me, though I consider it closer to a hybrid. But I condemn labeling it as a steel coaster. It just isnt one.. I've ridden the Ibox track and now the Topper track and you can feel the wood underneath the rails moving and creeking.. while being smooth still. It's an interesting feeling.
  22. Unfortunately, I don't see Coney Island getting a wooden coaster ever again. A cheap steel? Maybe some day... that would be fantastic to have one that is a little more calculated This was just last year: https://youtu.be/RJ7TiX_UoaU
  23. Oh good.. it's a $2 a pop? I could swing that. I was anticipating the 10$ price per locker haha That's one at Valravn, two at Gatekeeper, three for Millennium Force & Rougarou, four for Top Thrill Dragster & Magnum XL 200.. $8 before taxes.. Not terrible! Everywhere else has bins that I can use (at my own risk)
