  1. Probably one more. Look at the footings we only just now got a level banking.
  2. If the drop will be like every other GCI curved drop, we aren't done going higher quite yet.
  3. It's gotta be more about the rides. When it was Hannah barbera land still.. i may have known some of the characters.. but that's just cause of reruns and though I knew them, I wasnt excited to have a ride themed to that character. It was about the rides. Beastie was fun, and had nothing to do with the area's theme.. if i didnt know the character, I didnt really think about it. I just associated that cartoon with that ride, if i DID know the character, it was just coicidence that I was riding them- THEIR ride.
  4. One reason is to keep tabs on which rides are popular. I believe it was Matt Ouimet that said the guests "vote with their feet". Less popular attractions can be looked at to be more likely for removal. Or low numbers could warrant incentive to spruce up a ride. Or maybe low numbers means they need to increase maintenence frequency for (whatever might not get daily replacements) I'm sure there are other reasons besides this and to give a tshirt to the millionth rider.
  5. Yeah Coney island isnt as open as it once was what with part of their old land housing many major concerts every year.
  6. Was there a secondary cam for Banshee?? I completely forgot about that if there was. I thought it was just the tower that became the Banshee cam.
  7. Construction updates will also be less frequent once the lift is closed off and we can't see anything I thought they'd put some up today since they had some guys walking the preset bents early this morning, but they might've only put one up. Its hard to tell if they even did that cause I only check in the morning and before dark.
  8. I agree! Tritotech can stick to the arcades and malls. I don't want their video screen rides at KI
  9. I hope they love what they're doing and not just working 10 hours because they"need to"
  10. Idk about blood drums, but monster rock should be playing on the last Sunday. They have sunday shows regularly. Btw. I would reccomend to see Monster Rock. Lots of talent on that stage. You might wanna bring your ear plugs, but I really enjoyed it, despite it being a music revue. I've yet to see Blood Drums this year though, or hotblooded, but I'm sure HB is the same
  11. If they're anything like B&M's restraints for their newer trains (Banshee and on) then I'd have to disagree.. vekoma restraints on Firehawk are nice because they lock during loading so that they never get tighter or wont have a constant pull on you, they'll only keep you from going too far.
  12. I wonder how many rides actually exist that require a live performer though.
  13. If only we had Ouimet at the time of the TR license drop. Maybe some attempts to retheme to match Rivertown would've happened. Probably wouldn't have saved the ride ultimately I guess.
  14. They'd complain about it being too painful if they made this coaster 200ft tall
  15. I disagree. They could. But they wouldn't HAVE to..
  16. I'm curious how many lay people actually know that happened.. and if they do, how old they are.
  17. So you don't care to see pictures if it's not park oriented? Random Photo more often than not is related to parks it seems. Not a challenge, still curious
  18. Yes and the headchopper that you'd get is what would be the most exciting thing. I always had fear that I'd get decapitated as we approached the bottom.. something that most headchoppers dont get to accomplish. SOB without the loop IMO was even more rough than with it. Not that it wasnt rough to begin with.. 2005 was particularly rough, I remember. I told myself that I should ride it only once per year because of how rough it was, despite it being a fun thrilling ride.
  19. These are all gorgeous pictures guys. But I'm confused why this is a separate thread from Random Photo of the day.
  20. Yes. Age limit is not the answer. It is the irresponsibility of the parents should a child find themselves in a place they can't handle... as long as a park makes known which mazes are more adult oriented.. which I don't think they do as of now. Though I know Hot Blooded makes some sort of warning of the mature nature before the show on the sign and right before the show starts.. kids still are watching as young as 5 it seems. One must remember there are some kids that are very mature and not so easily affected by whatever might make them freak out (scared, scarred, innapropriate behavior)
