  1. That doesn't have a boat flying up and down curves. Hardly a coaster IMO For whatever reason, probably because it's just a lift and a drop that is out of water, I actually think that ride looks really photogenic. *shrug*
  2. But there isn't a Mack Water Coaster there.
  3. Less tacky than a water coaster with close to zero theming.
  4. Please keep those tacky looking coasters away from Kings Island. Unless an entire mountain is grooving with the track, much like Disney has done with their coasters, those rides look odd. Although, they are fun to ride..
  5. Actually not very long at all.. I think the longest I've done is only like 45min. (at KI) As a season pass holder I usually don't take well to waiting too long for rides that are always there for me.. usually. *Drop Tower*
  6. Apparently, you have now "seen the show several times" - BoddaH1994
  7. I did not. However, I watched on Saturday at 7:00pm and it was, not surprisingly, a great show. I love circus shows, good ones anyways with acrobatics and humor. My favorite humor moment is probably the ending gag with the see-saw. (trying not to spoil things even though it'll be repeated all season long) I have huge appreciation for the tricks I can do, at few, and especially the ones I can't. I gave a standing ovation without the pressure from everyone else. I.. IMAGINE... many others do and would have the same reactions as the people on this thread. (Cirque Imagine? No? okay..)
  8. Should I know what TL:DR is?.....
  9. Although accurate to what was promised and described, and definitely darker.. I wouldn't say "much" Near black would be a "much". In my opinion, of course Wasn't aware of its brake failures.. however.. I rode near its last season and it was a very smooth and enjoyable ride. So I was sad to see it go!
  10. The enthusiasm and the different approaches to trying to be amusing at an amusement park are a part of the job, just as safety is a part of the job. Safety comes first, but unless someone's enthusiasm is hindering the safety, the enthusiasm probably shouldn't be seen as a problem. There's a lot of hate going to these guys on here. I will say as far as their spiels go, it would be less awkward and nicer if they didn't ask how that ride was, prompting the train to be expected to scream. Just to say something simple like, "Welcome back green train! When the ride comes to a complete stop please push down on your -- etc." And genuine friendliness and energy is always welcomed and well received; humans mirror emotions after-all. I wouldn't vouch for no talking whatsoever, that's awkward. The screaming guy is too much though, I'll agree though, especially with him having a microphone. -- I feel like this thread has turned from sharing of some funny or unique things that ride-ops have done, to being a bit of a bash. -My two cents.
  11. And the launch is half of the greatest part of TTD that any drop or launched tower could never replicate.
  12. The lift on Banshee does slow down if the further block isn't cleared; same thing that The Bat and The Beast regularly do.
  13. That was the most note-worthy thing about the retheme when Boo Blasters first opened up IMHO.. and then it stopped working after just a couple weeks it seemed.
  14. Although there are waiters and waitresses that plain out don't care and just do a bad job.. many of those workers deserve much more patience and respect than is given to them. Directed to people that often seem to have bad service and have never worked food service.
  15. Also, Speedos aren't well received in our culture of the US. By either sexes, it seems.
  16. It doesn't lock in place, the vests, so it doesn't matter if you try to inhale a bunch when the restraints lock. It'll always be tuggin' on ya. It can always be pushed out a little also, but even still. I'd rather it lock where you set it. Not so you can be unsafe, but just so it can be there instead of being THERE!
  17. I haven't had a chance to ride it in many years but will make the trip up this summer and if your analogy is correct.....I am super excited!! I'm pretty sure the retracking happened after I rode so... who knows. (I'll know after the first week of park operations)
  18. I never experienced how severe Gatekeeper's restraint pain was, but for me, Banshee pressed on my collar bones even still. It didn't continually get tighter and tighter, but my collar bones weren't happy by the end of the ride. Slight discomfort with the restraints. I'd rather the vests be more like Firehawk's.
  19. So which is better: Banshee or Vortex? Though Vortex was my favorite ride.. I'm gonna have to say Banshee.. Although a favorite for me, the fact is that Vortex is just a tad bit rough whereas Banshee manages to be intense and smooth at the same time.
  20. Mean Streak (which is FAR better than anyone gives it credit for...) Stricker's Grove Tornado Sea Dragon (for the historical value). And that's about it. But it's not like the whole area is hurting. Because just outside Ohio, we have: Voyage Raven Legend Thunderbolt Jack Rabbit The other Racer Thunder Run And probably more that I didn't think of. Mean Streak is NOT a better coaster than people credit it for Haha. I'll stand by that opinion. I'll see how it has changed when I go this year, but as of 2010, it reminded me of how SOB felt.. "pure joy".
