  1. Dang, the one room I wanted to see pictures of, the person didn't have! Still, great article to have a nice trip down memory lane.
  2. Just like Holiday World does with their insanely crazy woodies (or just rough). If you make the waist band nice and snug, or even tight, you will have a much more pleasant ride. Trust me... I'm a doct-- eh... It works for me- Hopefully for you!
  3. The front row of the car has more legroom, which is important for the taller among us. In back rows on Vortex, my knees hit the seat in front of me. Mm! Yeah, you see I need to be better at remembering that everyone isn't my own size. I don't even think about it. Ride on!
  4. Yeah, and I don't understand why some specify 7-1.. any seat in the last car feel very similar. But I agree that 7-1 (really any 7th car seat) is a less rough ride than 5-1.
  5. I can still type "pki.com" and still be redirected.. -- Though, I have rightfully used "visitkingsisland.com" for many years now.
  6. I don't understand how Vekoma sold so many of these models if they, seemingly, were always so jerky and rough to ride.. and not in a fun rough way.
  7. Hmm... that original paint job reminds me of the coasters I used to make when I played RCT 1 as a small 5 year old boy. However, if the new trains will have restraints like the picture posted above, maybe this will be my first enjoyable experience on a Vekoma SLC. Not T2, nor Mind Eraser at Darien Lake were very kind to my head. Both look and sound deceptively smooth, really smooth, from a 3rd person standpoint. *I'll never learn.
  8. Well, when you think about who usually will end up buying apparel, enthusiasts aside.. Do I need to finish the thought? --That implied, I wouldn't complain if The Bat got a T-shirt
  9. If you're referring to the reuse of the old furnace ending towards the end of Slaughter House... then yes! It was cool to see that be used again.
  10. Very cool way to incorporate the year 2014.
  11. Okay, I'm not as upset with this.. I've always wanted to ride a floorless coaster.. I'll still experience Mantis as Rougarou. Sucks that now one of my favorites there won't be a walk-on as often. At least I have had several opportunities to enjoy a B&M standup with Chang and Mantis. I can write that away. It'll be nice to see a fresh new look for the ride.. For it to resemble the Six Flags Goliath paint schemes.
  12. ..I won't.. wouldn't if I didn't like it enough, but my point is that I'd rather time pass, a new company prove their worth in the 300' coaster business, and we end up with a coaster as reliable as B&M, but with a higher quality ride experience (and that's subjective); if a 300' coaster comes in 'now', it won't come later, more than likely.
  13. Hopefully something before they decide to remove an attraction for a new attraction...
  14. I don't understand how Kings Island having as seemingly strong standing as it does, could go bankrupt just because it added too many thrill rides at once. In any case, Kings Island doesn't need any coasters any time soon.. for real. I would attest that some high quality flats be added, or some classic flats *cough* "returned"... Heck, I severely do not like the water park environment at amusement parks, but I'd vouch new additions be made at Soak City even. I've understood that someone in an interview, won't even make a guess which official it was(could've been), saying they'd prefer not to make the park too big also. -- In regards to B&M's potential run with 300' coasters.. I dearly hope they stay far away from Kings Island.. in my opinion. - Random point. Anyone else hating that new building that was built, blocking the amazing view of Kings Island as you approach 71 north bound??
  15. Mean Streak is ok. Not too rough though. Blue streak is tons of fun! Not too rough though.
  16. Content unavailable. I'm assuming this is the Magic Mountain Colossus? The one that's supposed to be used in their future ride, Twisted Colossus?
  17. I thought it was reduce, reuse, recycle. Or is re-purpose always different from recycle? (not an attacking post)
  18. Ugh. This is upsetting news for me. At least I got to ride it several times this year.
  19. IMO the only viable option for such a treatment was SOB, and that's now gone soo... I would like RMC not to work on any existing woodies at the park. If a new one ever were put in, that's fine, just leave the classics alone.
  20. I can say with complete confidence as others will agree, I imagine, that a motion simulator will never be able to mimic the same sensations as a coaster as long as motion simulators stay in a stationary location. They can only create hang-time. (leaning or flipping but with a hanging feeling.) The only way a motion simulator could match a coaster's sensations would be to be able to move about in 3d space and not just be able to rotate and spin.
  21. The coaster itself looks to be a clone.. if some glowing walls and mirrors are all that are to come with this dark coaster, I am not too impressed. However, these rides are fun nonetheless.
  22. Restaurants are not as clean as you think.. and that's assuming you expect mediocre cleanliness. There are exceptions, I'd expect, but man. Once you see what goes on, ew.. but you will probably still dine there anyways. Food for thought, how dirty do you think your cell phone screen gets? Taking it in the restroom, always having to touch that screen between after other various activities and interactions..
