KI Saturday 10/12, first park visit in 7+ years!
calakapepe replied to thegajone's topic in Trip Reports
Wow, now that's a reason to have fast pass! Glad you enjoyed your time! and I'm sure Kings Island will be even greater the next time you get to swing by! Thanks for the trip report! -
first loop, second inversion.. In case anyone uses loop and inversion interchangeably.

This is getting a bit off-topic. -- I agree that ridding of Timberwolf could allow for more attractions and a more open access point to Flight Deck. (though that would hinder the access road that goes through there.) On the other hand, it was always cool to have a place where actual bands could come and perform along their tours. I think it has a certain spark to be able to watch your favorite band at one of your favorite amusement parks.. though, if they never get anyone booked, it's better to get rid of it. Flight Deck has been deserving of a more obvious presence since 2009. (and from its opening to 2001)

Considering that the track itself is apart of the structure that holds the track in the air. (Have to always remind myself of that) There is a math in how this is constructed to an extent.
-
I honestly doubt it's close enough to anything to be a huge noise problem. Maybe Great wolf lodge if you're sitting out on your balcony, but otherwise..
-
That looks like its a light shined upon Bashee's crest. Not a light shining from it.

Just thought I'd provide some new angles to you guys after having gone to the park BTW. The catwalk for the top of the lift is assembled (as I saw while riding Adventure Express) and I expect it up soon! Someone showed this, but I didn't see it until after taking this shot. Surprised no one has done shots from Adventure Express yet.. that I've seen. Adding to the collection of these.. And one of these for good measure.. BTW the track and supports in the distance make me excited for the next two weeks!

People won't NOT ride Vortex when they finish riding Banshee. Should correlate with how many people attend the park, not what other rides are present.. as long as Vortex continues to run fair enough for people to like it.
-
How about on SOB's old station? but only if a different camera is put there. I'd rather the current one stay where it is, still.
-
It's a shame Sling Shot will ruin a clean photo op of the first drop. Glad you had a great time, all!
-
I imagine some people whose names are on gravestones will be invited from this site of our own! EDIT: least, I think it'd be cool if that happened.
-
^^ I'm laughing because I assume you're commenting on the typo of the word "revile". An update from yours truly.

Glad to see that we will be able to see below us as we ascend to the top Won't feel like we're trapped as much. --- Why does this image have a different angle than the website? I switched back and forth--... actually, this image might be skewed from however you saved it. Or unskewed it... the website cam looks like the image is squished in from the sides, making the bottom of the drop seem more sudden.. Your picture looks more realistic.

This ride will have at least one forceful spot, we know that for sure. (I'm assuming more!)
-
tl:dr... hmm. EDIT: thanks, Google! -- Does anyone else find acronyms to be really confusing from time to time still?? Even within the coaster community, I still have to stop and question which ride is being spoken about sometimes..
-
Coming from the south, or the north?? hmm... -- does anyone think we will finally see Delirium swing to the South on the park map next year??
-
I wanna see what it looks like looking down Coney Mall from Zephyr.
-
Who could brave Vortex as many times as some have done with Diamondback??

Zero-G rolls are for weightlessness, not airtime. And I'm hoping a slow one, like we will have, will end up being more fun than the more intense ones. (like other B&M inverted coasters i.e. Raptor)
-
The back might get a little close to 0g on the initial pull over but this looks to be a G force induced drop. Shouldn't be any airtime.
-
I agree! I'm so excited. It's the only thing keeping me from giving up with life and doing nothing haha Also, I'm going to guess the drop looks to be 70*
-
Or perhaps, that was the plan... to start it darker so that it would age into the correct shade.
-
This is cool' Agreed; thanks davidw for creating this. Also, before looking at the recent construction pics, I never realized just how steep Banshee's first drop will be. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how steep it actually is. Because it turns, I feel it gives the illusion to be steeper than actually is. I won't be able to know for sure unless the park releases actual statistics or until I go to the park after the drop is constructed and I can see it from the right angle.

That's because it IS a shade of red
