Well, at the present time, the numbers game makes your generation the least mature. I felt the same way when I was young about mine. But, at the risk of sounding cold, prison and death have a way of weeding the scumbags out of every generation and making it more "mature" as time goes on.......... And there are many people who simply "grow up" and "get it" later in life than you have. Be patient, my friend..... They will catch up ........

You'd probably be amazed at how much sex has always gone on in the park. Employees, guests and any combination of the two....... I refuse to respond to this post on the ground that it may tend to incriminate me........ LOL!!!!

At that time it was 19 for beer.... I believe that it changed on September 30 the year I turned 19 and my birthday is October 3, so I missed by two days and change...... Fortunately, in college one of the local bar owners thought that was "close enough"

Boy, I don't know what kind of an example we are setting for the younger members of this board.....But, back in the old days, it seemed enforcement was a lot less strict. For example, when we were caught by security drinking beer in the parking lot when we were about 17, the security told us they would have to confiscate the open beers but "I didn't see those three 12 packs in your cooler." They even told us to buy souvenier cups and drink the beer out of those and they wouldn't bother us as long as we kept it in the parking lot and didn't bring it into the park. Imagine that situation today.... Those kids would probably get arrested. But, for the record, two members of our "group" had girlfriends who didn't drink, so we always had a designated driver at the end of the day..... And we never destroyed or damaged any park property or anything like that.

Besides newer kiddie rides, Extereme Skyflyer and Firehawk (my kids aren't tall enough and every time I went without them last year it started raining when I was in line).

Youre right. I never thought of that. I was thinking of the power failure scenario........

Fog machines on The Beast at night. Especially in the tunnels.

Are there any rides you won't go on at KI?
BavarianBeatle replied to Cortney's topic in Kings Island
Blue's Skidoo. LOL! -
That's why they hurt at the end!!! SOB, in its present state, is absolutely built for true coaster fans, in my humble opinion!!!!
-
Compared to SOB, The Beast is a leisurely ride through the woods........ But I love SOB!!!! Its much better than it used to be........My advice about SOB is dont hold on tight or staple yourself in......... Trust me, if you keep your hands up and truly experience the G-forces, it's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Jasper, i agree that's what it sounds like!! I'm equally glad that its against the rules!!!!! LOL!!!!

According to Webster's, a "rivet" is: "a headed pin or bolt of metal used for uniting two or more pieces by passing the shank through a hole in each piece and then beating or pressing down the plain end so as to make a second head" I can't imagine putting on a bathing suit in that manner, (Your back would be very sore if you did) so I think you're fine with what you have described..........

What was your first "big kid" ride you went on at KI?
BavarianBeatle replied to Cortney's topic in Kings Island
Don't dread that!! Just look forward to one more person to ride with!!! -
I agree. The music is a big deal. It enhances (or detracts from) the experience a great deal. Standing in line being force-fed Wham and New Kids on the Block is unpleasant, at best. As for the youtube, I also considered Udo Dirkschneider, but decided Loudness was funnier because of those two 80's nerds.....
-
Of course this would be during the winter when no guests are in the park...of course..I could thin out the smokers as well...lol As long as there's "no hunting" in the desiganted smoking areas, I agree with you......... LOL!!!

Since it is "International" Street and 80's and 90's seem to be the emphasis, how about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blkxSkJzNAU WARNING: This video is absolutely awful!!!! What was your first "big kid" ride you went on at KI?
BavarianBeatle replied to Cortney's topic in Kings Island
Mine would be Bavarian Beetle, if that can be considered a big ride, otherwise it was The Racer, which was as big as it got back in the early 70s. I was scared to death when I first rode it because no one had explained air time to me and I thought I was going to fly out... But I got over that quickly.... I also remember scaring my Mother to death (she is terrified of heights) by running back and forth in the Sky Ride cars with my sister and making them rock a little bit...... -
I've heard lots of bad music in the park this year, so far......... As in BAD 80's and 90's songs that were tacky when they were released...... No "Ice Ice Baby' or "Rico Suave" yet thank God, but almost as bad.....

Last year when mine made 48 for the first time I worked them into it so to speak. The first day we did FOC, AE, Runaway Reptar, then Racer and one ride on The Beast. The second day we did those again then Flight Deck and Vortex. Then eventually SOB once it opened. Now my youngest rides SOB with his hands in the air the entire ride and does all of the "48 inch" coasters as well as Drop Tower and Sling Shot without a problem.

Knievel's Jump May End Up Being a World Record
BavarianBeatle replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I hope it's a successful jump too!!! Last year we watched a pilot suffer a fatal crash at the Dayton Air Show. I would hate for my kids to see something like that two years in a row..... -
I used to work in the restaurant business too, and I think that many restaurant employees would not eat at the places they work or used to work....... I will never forget the show "Busted on the Job" that showed security videos of many disgusting restaurant (and other) employees..... I can't find any on youtube though. But just about anyone who has worked in a restaurant can tell stories that will make your skin crawl.
