  1. Why can there not be snakes, canyons, tombs, and beasts in and around a mine? From one Nick to another, it fits perfectly.
  2. This looks like another case of having to interpret The Interpreter's words. One thing that I can also interpret is that Ohio is definitely a state to avoid should I decide to open an amusement park. Flyer, who someday may.
  3. ...And this one almost died laughing, but is now in recovery. I rode Goliath at Spring Fling, and if it's any indication, Diamondback will be awesome. The hills - one after another - are all air laden. The trim on Goliath made me mad - but what's unusual about that? It still ended up in my #1 spot, so whether Diamondback takes it will depend on two things - the trim and the mid-course - mostly the latter. Goliath's double helix turnaround really was amazing for me. The g's were wonderful, and I think it even beat The Beast's helix as my favorite helix on a coaster.
  4. But it is an amusement park, not a theme park. Actually, I'm quite content with Rivertown being a river town, rather than a western cowboy type location. The less western, the better for me, though I'm probably in the minority on that one.
  5. From what I have read here and in other places, the loop was scrapped along with the King Cobra track. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.
  6. No...but very soon. Very, very soon. In fact, only 7 more days, and they'll probably fly. Flyer, who hopes time flies even faster than Diamondback.
  7. I remember a few of them, and to be honest, only about 1 or 2 nice Easters, ever. It always seems to be wet, cold, or a combination thereof. The reason for this comment... ...is because snow and cold weather are the only things in Jan. and Feb. At least all of the other months have some really, REALLY nice days amongst some of the crappy ones. I'm not that hard to please, but January and February are just not my favorite months. The rest are fine, and I'm happy. Flyer, who tries to enjoy Jan. and Feb. and is usually successful for only New Year's Day.
  8. Uh, I don't agree with the hopefully part. I'm hoping for some marathon rides during ERT this season. Stay at Diamondback, all of you. (Or at least in the front of the train.)
  9. I also remember a day from he...no I think more like Siberia last winter. They were forecasting 1-2 inches of snow that morning and we ended up with 8. That was certainly the deepest inch of snow I've ever seen. Thank goodness Jan. and Feb. are history for another year.
  10. And it certainly wouldn't take until 3am to be caught.
  11. Hmmm... I wish you wouldn't announce to the world that there is a plausible idea behind this thread, as some of us already have plans stored away in our heads for such things. Your location isn't exactly what I had in mind, but I've said too much already and plan to let my secret thoughts remain just that.
  12. I find this to be extremely scary, though not surprising. When is the last time that you saw "through" spelled correctly on a sign?
  13. One season is better than none. Thanks for posting that article.
  14. I would hope one glitch in the memory wouldn't make me "uncool" with someone. At any rate, I just failed to remember it being that bad. What I do remember was that I waited too late to go and it was a mad house to get into the parking lot close to opening, I was not able to take my opening ride on The Beast due to downtime, the lines were very lengthy, and that there were quite a number of opening day kinks that surfaced throughout the day. I don't remember anything with regards to a lack of power, but I've slept since then and am going to take your word for it. Perhaps the person I was with at the time was able to make it an enjoyable day despite the problems. Who knows?
  15. Okay! Just checking. Now then...where were we...oh, yeah. We were making fun of Chang. Actually, I think Chang is awesome, but we definitely don't want an incident on Diamondback like Chang had on opening day. We all want to ride.
  16. That would not be a good thing at all. BTW - just noticed this: You should know better than to take me seriously....except on an issue of brakes. I'm sorry if you took what I said as a disrespectful statement, as that was not the intent.
  17. We will not add Diamondback to the list of B&M's to valley. No, we will not.
  18. But remember that last year's opening day was on Sunday. Then again, actually, the following Sunday was more crowded than opening day if I'm remembering correctly...and I am. Flyer, who remembers opening day in 07, but doesn't remember that many kinks.
  19. Oh, I can see it now. Nitro is now down due to the gust of wind that is 5 miles away...Nitro cannot run in any form of wind whatsoever...we are unsure how long this wait will be... Sound familiar?
  20. This reminds me of a post that went something like... ...how crowded will the park be on July 24th at 2:23pm (or something to that effect).
  21. Personally, I think the sign is absolutely perfect and suits the whole attitude of Rivertown. It's also exactly what I was hoping for. Since everyone has his or her own opinion, naturally not everyone is going to like it. Remember, it's the ride that counts, not the sign that's in front. Though I again stress that I think the sign is absolutely perfect and well done!
  22. And to this day, the zoom past it drives me crazy to the point that I giggle. It remains the only Kings Island coaster with which I am not accredited.
  23. The atlas that I currently use is a 2005, and per my personal policy...this will be its last year of use. (Doesn't that make you want to cry?) By the time it's five years old, it's out of date in some areas, and it's replaced. (Tissue, please.)
  24. If normal operating days apply to opening day as well, it will probably be at 9:30.
