  1. When I worked at Subway, I marked opening day on their calendar and drew a little rollie coaster. Is that worse? ...and my KI dreams always feel real.
  2. The shows are usually plenty loud, and there isn't a high speed element behind the building. As long as the speakers for the station safety spiels aren't turned up so you can hear them in Coney Mall, I don't think it will affect the shows. Flyer, putting his 2 cents in.
  3. Not just pictures either. I love how Cedar Point's website has POV's of all the coasters to keep you happy in the off-season. I have to resort to youtube for KI videos and there aren't too many on there.
  4. That is pretty outrageous. Speaking of outrageous...I am outraged. Not really (just thought that was clever), but I'm sensitive about The Racer. I like The Racer. The Racer is my favorite ride at KI. I usually ride The Racer on the blue side. I rode The Racer 105 times last season. I rode Red Racer 55 times and Blue Racer 50 times. The blue side of The Racer was closed later on last season. I have now hopefully said The Racer enough times to see that there is not an s in The Racer!! I should copy and paste that for the next time I have to point this out. Flyer, who spends more time at The Beast but prefers the airtime of The Racer, and believes in reality that they are tied for his #1 KI spot.
  5. I think you're in the majority on that one. PS. I miss your Diamondback avatar already.
  6. In that case, I'll agree with you! ...but I think both options would be best. (See signature)
  7. I'm glad someone bumped this thread up. I've never seen those. The photos of Millennium are awesome. BTW...I'd be proud of the Mantis/Millennium picture too. Mantis is not neccessarily my favorite coaster, but it sure is photogenic. Millennium on the other hand, I find to be both. I also liked the one lone picture of Meanie, as it's under-rated imo. Thanks for the pictures! Flyer, who is actually ready to ride a different Blue coaster at CP that is also under-rated, and thankfully trim-free (so far).
  8. A lack of spelling and punctuation makes it so easy! Proofreading is a task that my English students have gotten very quickly, and it isn't that hard. Flyer, who couldn't resist.
  9. That's the standard anytime you want to see something. I know what you mean.
  10. I have three thoughts: 1. I hope you're not talking about the ones that are hollow in the middle. OUCH! 2. Can we have the single position lap bars back then? (yeah, right!) 3. Can't we have both options, as this would be the best for improving the quality of the ride!? Especially with The Racer, which doesn't need a trim anyway. (I'm not having that argument again, I'm just stating my opinion. The first argument was bad enough. I'm sure those that remember it agree.)
  11. But thinking still implies opinion! Though I agree that just seeing what happens is probably the best choice. I'm still betting for something major for The Beast, but I can't make my mind up. Hopefully not G-trains. (I just had to bring that up.) All in unison...here we go again!
  12. I didn't take it the wrong way at all! In fact, I haven't taken anything a member has said as rude or hateful for a long time. It has been a lot easier for me to get along with everyone here since I have figured out that italics are much better for emphasizing words than the caps lock key. That never goes over well!
  13. Yeah, you go with that assumption!! I know! You know what happens when you assume!?
  14. I have to agree with Cory on this one. I like the colors for a coaster in general, but for the name I prefer the old color scheme. I'd rather see Flight Deck in those colors than how it looks right now. It looks like they don't care.
  15. I think it will have something to do with The Beast, but I'm not so sure that it's the paw prints.
  16. Speaking as someone who almost always rode forward Racer anyway, it's nice to have both sides running forward for comparison, for races when you have one person go to red and the other go to blue (when it's racing), and I like the view of The Beast's lift hills from the turnaround. So at least one of us is almost happy. Kill the trims and I'll be happy.
  17. I agree that Flight Deck needs a paint job worse than any other coaster at Kings Island and at most of the parks in the chain, but not the worst in the chain. There is one little wooden coaster up north that is being neglected to death...and trimmed to death as well. Poor High Roller, who I have nicknamed heart-braker, as it could easily be a top ten but in trimmed form sits at #28.
  18. You mean I have to wash off the KI smell???? I guess it's for the best. I'm up to 19 amusement related T-shirts, so I guess I'll have to add a few to my collection to wear something different each time. Though, I tend to wear my Racer T-shirt since I looked for one for 5 years before I found one. I'll have to buy another one as long as they're still there. Actually, it will probably be the crew on The Beast and The Racer that will notice. Not to knock Diamondback by any means, but the line will be too long for it to be more than a one-or-two-ride-per-trip ride for a while.
  19. Sorry about that gigacoaster2k. As many forum members here have noticed, I hate being told I'm wrong when I know I'm not. The only trouble is when I'm actually wrong...but this ain't one of 'em. As you wish...stick a fork in me, I'm done! Flyer
  20. You left out Mean Streak! Its queue is in the middle of the coaster! You are in a forest of supports for the majority of the entrance and you leave it off the list. How dare you!?
  21. What do you have against Elie? He's why you get wet on that ride. Why ride if you don't want to get wet? ...and yes...I named him.
  22. Ditto, little over 2 hours away and would be there every day closing the park if i could!! I usually make it 12 to 15 times. Same here, but I'm appreciating my situation more and more. An hour and a half, and my new record was set in '09 at 27. Here's to setting a new record in 09. My goal is 31...a full month of KI days.
  23. One of many reasons that I love being at Kings Island in the rain. Although, since they have started closing for sprinkles, some of that fun has faded. Now that I said that, it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have to wait until the pavement was dry before reopening...but what do I know?
  24. This morning, I was listening to my local radio station, G101.3 out of Richmond, IN. Same old stuff...and then...Dave Snow announced that he was interviewing Don Helbig of Kings Island to talk about Diamondback. The interview was 5 or so minutes, but in that time Don covered the overall structure, trains, opening day, the auction for the first seats, A Kid Again, etcetera. He also mentioned where to bid for the auction. Besides bouncing off the walls and ceilings from excitement, that made me curious to know how many radio stations Don has been interviewed by. Has anyone else heard Don on local stations (both radio or tv)?
