(click on image for bigger view) If you are indeed the person that said what I heard in the room at Great Wolf Lodge, here is the picture that I took of the view. Upon inspection you will see Son of Beast's Rose Bowl helix area and mid-course ride killer. To the right of the picture is the Flight of Fear building, and between the two is Firehawk. Off the hill, and from this perspective, it would turn right (on the ride turns left) to go down the hill. The sunlight is such that with the screens, you can't tell the color. Flight Deck would be WAAAAYYYY over to the right of the picture beyond what you can see here. If you could see Flight Deck, you could see Son of Beast's lift hill. So, with all due respect, no, you don't!

top thrill dragster question
dare-to-fly replied to Mr. Coastermania's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
How sad. I was looking forward to a ride on it soon, and hoping that the hill at the end was what it looks like. I guess it's just an anticipointment hill. Oh, well...there's always El Toro to make up for it. Speaking of airtime, you left out the air in the front of TTD (at least there is in the second seat). I love being able to look down on Millennium. The visual from the top is the best part of the coaster. Personally, I wish they had attached a real coaster to the bottom of the drop. Then they might have a #1 out of me if the airtime is right. -
Sounds good to ride The Beast all day but i need my energy so i got to eat. I know what you mean. I've gone my share of days at KI without food, but I'm finding that eating in the park is rather satisfying. Once you get used to the prices, the food has been much better, the areas are clean, the atmosphere is amazing (especially the LaRosas tables right next to Vortex), and the portions are filling for the price. Riding The Beast all day would be fun, but I'd miss the others (especially The Racer). I've ridden The Beast for over 2 hours straight, but then nature called and I decided it was time to pay a visit to the other favorites.

Is this really true, or did you let your personal feelings get in the way of your judgement? If you like something a ton, then you can overlook the trim brak...uh wrong coaster...roughness because you are really enjoying the ride. The first time I rode SoB it gave me a headache. I can asure you that it was indeed rough with the loop as well. That said, it is my #4 at KI (until April), though it's higher on that list on the rare occasions when they blow the brakes.

That never gets old. I had a Geometry teacher in high school that would always do the same thing. He drove half the class nuts and the other half was highly entertained.
-
If you can call them trains. I can believe that. The capacity was miserable, and it was in a BUSY part of the park. I only rode it once for the credit.
-
The very front seat on the train is the only smooth spot on it. I guess that's why I usually ride in the very back.

You and me both!!!!!! The fact that KI will be open soon after spring officially comes makes it all the better!

Vekoma...key word...koma. -
Hmmmm. If you hear that on opening day, now you know who to blame!

This should be a great photo opportunity for Diamondback as well!

The grammar and mechanics errors are beginning to make my head hurt. Would you at least try? At any rate...I'm hoping that we get to see the trains on the track at Winter SOAR. Seeing a test run going around the track wouldn't be a bad surprize either. -
A nap? Somehow I think that might be exaggerated, though I agree it's a short ride...but fast. The prominent coaster next to SoB was indeed Firehawk, and it was hard to tell what color it was due to the bright sunlight, the screen over the window, and the fact that everything in that direction appeared the usual wintery shade of blah. Check the design of the ride, and you will see that it's not FD that you saw. FD is farther over, and doesn't have the FoF building next to it. PS. Firehawk is not the one that needs painted!

We were wondering about that on the trip home and came to the conclusion that wherever the drinks came from must have had Pepsi products on sale! Right again.
-
Nice pictures! I especially like the panoramic shot of Diamondback, even if you can see the mid-course trouble-maker...I mean...brake run. I see we weren't the only ones that had trouble finding a place to park. That was the longest part of the trip!

How nauseating. I never sit there unless forced. i.e. being the last one inside the station on Tornado at Stricker's Grove. At least I cooperate and don't request to wait.

Me too until my last post, which was somewhat less fun. I hate it when people try to twist my horse manure into an argument for the fun of it. (Simply because then it becomes less fun and more annoying.) Either way, yes the outcomes are the same. I think it's safe to say we've established this. I think I'll just leave the whole messing with peoples' heads to make them think game to Terpy, who is much better at such things than I and who always wins. ...though I'm not sure I can restrain myself at times. -

Relief. I can sleep tonight. Same here, and I was happy to spend the afternoon with everyone at the event talking about the best place in the world. -

Great pictures, and your writing was awesome! I wish my pictures would turn out that great. My really good pictures are usually flukes among a bunch of okay ones. I'm touched that you mentioned me in your TR...and hoping I didn't leave any negative impressions that allow me to stick out. Hopefully you would tell everyone that I'm not that bad in real life. See you around! -
If you like the front, great. I'm just a backseat person because I'm an airtime finatic. I also like the feeling of the "pull" rather than the "push."
-
That's definitely just a dream.

Actually, it was not a debate. You just turned it into one. I was being silly, and you turned it into an argument. Since I will ultimately just become annoyed by this, as I always do, to quote your previous statement...back on topic. Since there are parts to Diamondback that are very close to the midways, I certainly expect nets to appear. -
I mentioned that very thing on the way home. This will definitely be one of those "do you remember the time that..." stories! Thanks for a wonderful event!

Nice PTR. The speaker that you are forgetting the name of would be Nick Lacastro.
