  1. They can if its not a brand new B&M......
  2. The same way Diamondback looks this year.... 5 years old and looks 25.
  3. As will my Wife and I, likely the third week of July.
  4. Had a fantastic time, both Thursday and Friday, with two great groups of Friends!
  5. Does the neon sign flash "Gotta eats" ?
  6. Thursday morning through Saturday whenever the crowds irritate me enough to leave, so likely right after morning Passholder and Resort Guest ERT.
  7. This lends to a theory that the name of said new attraction could very likely be something along the lines of "The Discovery".
  8. I am, at this point, under the belief that this is going to be yet ANOTHER Splashin' Safari expansion, more specifically another water coaster. Wildebeest was a hit, Mammoth even moreso, so I am feeling that this is a case of "go with what is working".
  9. AACK!!! ^&)($*#(%^&)(6(^)&, sorry, I got burned by the time stamp!! The ONE TIME I dont look at it.... my bad.
  10. It is NOT, repeat NOT, how I read it. However, pretend for one second you arent an "enthusiast" and look at it from the GP point of view. Just as how the GP couldnt care less if a ride is recycled from another park, they could very easily read said article and come to the conclusion that I stated could be drawn. Articles are written the way they are... or presented on TV the way they are... for a reason. More often than not, its an unscrupulous one, or one to beat the other guys at the other station or newspaper for viewership or readership.
  11. Seriously??? She is AT the park, how difficult is it to take 5 minutes to call or walk to Voyage and get that price? Don, and also Bryan at CP, walk their respective parks daily, and Im pretty sure even they would do whats positive P.R. for said parks to get the answer for someone who made an inquiry. SMH.
  12. The way the article was written... as is with most media outlets... it makes it look as though CF puts low costs and less hassle above safety regulations on their priority lists. Typical "loose" journalism.

Thats the ONLY tweeting I will ever be doing, I am not that arrogant/self-important/self-indulgent that I need a site to randomly and instantly announce my every movement. I dont even do that 4-Square crap on Facebook.
  14. I understand where you are going with it, but I do recall a time The Beast had just a buzzbar and no seatbelt and I do not recall anyone flying out? I recall the ride being more enjoyable then, as well as a little scarier! The sad thing is because of the lawsuit crazy society we live in are the reasons all the additional "safety things" happen. It should be the rider's responsibility to know the rules and guidelines of the ride and obey them. I know the lapbar came down the required amount and that my seatbelt is secure and having a speed check by an employee doesn't make me feel any safer. But again, I am not the individual that is done for. I witness on almost every trip a rider that thought the seatbelt was optional on one of the rides I am in line with. And then when we get the individual with a pre-existing condition (bad back, obese, etc.) and either gets denied the ride or worse like injury or death, we then see additional measures put in place, even on rides nothing like the one where an incident took place. I don't know this for a fact and I am sure there are exceptions, but I would think most of the rides probably cannot dispatch if the lap bar/restraint is not secured, so the employee speed check is more for insurance liability reasons and redundancy than anything else. Now I do realize that none of the seatbelts have this feature, so they are checking that. I get into my vehicle and strap my seatbelt on and never has anyone done a pull on it to insure that I secured it properly, yet statistically, one is more likely to be injured or die in an automobile accident than an amusement park ride accident. Now that, was an intelligent and well thought out counterpoint, and for that I thank you. I absolutely agree with you, and of course I had already assured on my own that said belt was properly fastened, as it is my implied "job" to do so under the understood rule of "personal safety starts with the person taking responsibility for their own safety". My point of it, was to show that... while I will agree that the spieling is part of their job description.... so is safety, and an occurrence like that makes it appear as if the "entertainment" aspect of said job was given more emphasis by the individual than the more important safety aspect. That, is what I was wanting people... and possibly/hopefully park management whom I know reads this forum.... to see.
  15. Ah, and yet you conveniently removed the part of my post, stating the fact I would rather have a ride op who would worry as much or more about checking the SAFETY of the riders, as they do spieling. Let me clue you in on something.... Ive been in a cashiers position and I feel the very same way about it as I do a customer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im here to do a job, and collect compensation for doing said job. You dont even remotely know me, so do not presume... or shall I say ASSume.. that you do. Would a spiel have kept me in The Beast train at 60 plus had the seatbelt she failed to check come undone? I will take the seatbelt for $Life Alex.
  16. If I were GM, and heard that, my response to the ride op would be "Have a great day in the unemployment line, here is your final paycheck."
  17. I wonder if Vegas lays odds on the duration of time an amusement park survives. May have to check into that.
  18. I am with Terpy 1000000000% on this!! Maybe its because of my previous careers, where B.S. wasnt needed, wanted, tolerated, and could even cost someone their Live because of lack of concentration in the task or situation at hand. Same with the aforementioned cashiers.... there is a DEFINITE reason I prefer automated self-checking machines. Dont give me B.S., I dont want to hear about the weather or anything that does not pertain to my getting in and out of that D amn store or ride station more quickly and efficiently/safely. Id have far preferred the female ride op who checked my restraints on Beast at 810pm on Opening Day to have spent the extra second or two to realize that she had pulled on my Tony Stewart hat that I had attached to my belt loop instead of the seatbelt she was SUPPOSED to pull on. In lieu of that, pull on the black loop that I was even nice enough to put on top of the lapbar to make it EASIER for her to find and check the seatbelt! Until these current ride crews can do this job effectively in their sleep, I have no desire, time, or patience for spiels!
  19. He didnt seem to realize that "Dont come creepin round my back stairs" applied to more people than Sundown.
  20. William A. Butler, wrote an article called "66 Days At Sea" which describes an open sea "adventure" he experienced, Here the link to the article. http://www.wbutler.com/daysadrift.html In my eyes, this points much more to yet ANOTHER waterpark addition/possible third water coaster, than it does to a new roller coaster.
  21. Those have to be, by far, the biggest piece of crap restraints Ive ever seen in my Life. I say this, because FoFs OTSRs were before my Kings Island visiting days. These atrocities make Maverick's head-bangers look like the best thing since sliced bread! Since I am in no way one who goes to a park simply for one ride (Thunder Run), this will still be a park I can and will say Ive never been to.
  22. From those Ive been with, row 4 is your Friend.
  23. When I was a 1st Year Apprentice Electrician, the Journeyman I was working with told me "Kid (Ive always looked young for my age and He thought I was 18 or 19), take your last feeling out to the parking lot and put it back in your car, this is the real World." My Commandant in the Police Academy 2 years prior to that said the same thing, in a less PC manner. Moral.... if you cant handle it as a 13-15 year old, you are in for a ROUGH life as an Adult in the Adult World.
  24. *Insert Kansas and Toto reference here*
  25. No, far from spoiled, thanks. I said it was only in row 4 and 6, and in one train. I wont even talk about Diamondslack, that thing looks and rides like its 20 years old already. tjwood.... there is no possible way bins will be added, for a number of reasons, only one of which is the financial gain of the lockers.
