Cedar Point 2016 Talk

Or for those who think its "cool" for some reason to go actually CLIMB on the track pieces while in the parking lot. Yes, there are some of those in the community, as unfortunate/foolish as it may be. I mean, as a former car guy of epic proportions, that would make as much sense as me going down to Bowling Green, and climbing on crates full of Corvette parts. SMH. -

Maayyyyybe, however, my thoughts are that it all depends on how often they came over the PA system with the "We are experiencing a minor technical difficulty, and we should have you under way very soon" jazz. Not saying I disagree, because that thought entered my mind as well, just adding some more food for thought. -

the question should be.... how long was the ride stopped, BEFORE Zoo personnel/Management chose to call rescue operations in? For how many minutes did they attempt to re-start the ride themselves as to avoid media attention? -

I am not intentionally trying to break down the park when I post, I am very honestly just trying to point out different things for people to look at, and think about. With that said, let me point out that, at this point, all the park has done is released a VERY hastily done and very low quality rendering and animation of the new coaster, and begin deconstruction of the ride formerly known as Twisted Twins. In my eyes, this was/is being done as a "time filler" and as a way to possibly spike the sales of 2016 Season Passes in the HOPES that things go the parks way in November, Mind you, if they do not go the parks way and all State funding of any sort is cut to the park, then all the park is out is the money they will have to pay the Demolition company for the deconstruction of TT. All of this, in my eyes, is a "wing and a prayer" way of boosting revenue for next year in the hopes that there IS a next year.

Sorry for the D.P., but you heard right! Thats not the only reason BY FAR, that its a truly Fabulous night, but that is one heck of a great perk of the night! Some other things that make it great (besides the very obvious enjoyment of feeling totally Free to be "me" without worry of a bunch of un-needed B.S.) are A)No obnoxious line-jumping and other such jackassery B)No equally obnoxious basketball bouncing C)Everyone in the park, from guests to employees, are without fail having a GREAT time and enjoying all of the GOOD things an amusement park CAN offer. Side note.... I truly wish they would open Surf Dog and Woodstock Gliders for the event

Bout time you posted this, Cody, LOL! I had to Google it last week to find out when it was, ticket prices, etc etc. Even though I missed it last year while trying to keep my business operational, it would take a Global ending event to keep myself and two incredibly special Friends of mine away this year!!

For an answer to that question, see Cedar Point in 2016. -

Which is why Id never be at a Media event for a ride (or park) that I truly felt may ride or operate like junk. Sparky, who has never ridden T Anything, and has never been to a park in Lousiville.

I think said PR person is clinging to strongly to the old adage "Even bad publicity is publicity".

That ride DESERVES to be Underground... as in DEEP underground in the scrap pile. I remember the first time I rode it, after waiting in an hour long line.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR is an understatement as to my emotions when I got off. -
I was going to say.... Im an ACE member (until November) and if I think a coaster is junk, Im going to say its junk, darn the torpedoes. However, I also have a deep-seated disdain for members of the press and video Media, so I dont talk to any of them as it is. And yes, BoddaH, maybe the Blobb in question gets away with it, because he is so TWISTYYYYYY!!!

Its actually a triple-down element within the tunnel, and that is the only thing that is altered by the MCBR. Once you get out of the triple-down, and past the very first rise after that, the ride experience is much the same as it always has been. -
Steel Venom was ALWAYS at Valleyfair!, and one that should be ridden. The rear spike has a holding brake at max height, and that alone makes it better by far than Wicked Twister. Steel Venom at Geauga Lake, was moved to Dorney Park and renamed Possessed. It also has the holding brake on the non-twisting rear spike. Also note, that Wild Thing is a Morgan hyper coaster, and is the predecessor to Mamba at Worlds of Fun. I LOVE Morgan hypers, and while quasi-similar to Magnum, the bunny hills on the Morgan hypers are insurmountably more comfortable than the pyramids that pass as bunny/airtime hills on Magnum.

McSalsa, Voyage is running as wonderfully this year as it was in 2010! I cant even begin to say how happy I am with how it ran, and you are 100% on point about how lousy it ran in 2011 and 2013. I dare say (and I hate to) that in 2011, it was just like that turd Son of Beast, in that it HAD to be ridden in 1-1 to be tolerable. Now, as far as over-rated goes, nearly all of us know how parks win Golden Wallet awards.... so in THAT sense of over-rated I will agree. However, I will say from now until the day I die that Voyage does what its supposed to do, better than The Beast does what its supposed to do. If the penny-pinchers would lose the trim on the first drop, and maybe reduce how hard the one on the helix grabs, I might change my thoughts on that, but that will never happen (I am one of the few who tends to FULLY agree with the necessity of how hard the mid-course trim grabs). Im sorry, but both of those rides are supposed to give a completely out of control "this train truly feels like its wanting to come off the track" feeling, and Voyage does that better. -
Those who know, dont tell, and those who dont know, tell. This employee was likely just promoted from the Dippin' Dots stand.

I was last there in 2013, and since I go to West Des Moines yearly to visit my Mother, I will most definitely be making a trip back to my old stompin' grounds next summer, before we make the big move to the land of the Rockies.... or possibly the land of the Mouse. its been WAY too long since Adventureland has added a coaster, and on top of that, they have one of the best tilt-a-whirls in the Country. It will be bittersweet for me to see the log flume go, but this is a very worthy (and needed) addition.

Devils advocate here, and something that most should have thought, is the fact that they simply said "Very clever, Mac" which could mean nothing more than they were giving credit to the way he placed the RMC within the statement he was making. It may, or may not, have been alluding to them saying he was/is correct!
