I figured you would beat me to it, Brad, since I went to bed at 930 last night. I am uploading/editing photos to my laptop as we speak, and my PTR will be posted some time this evening.

Yes, someone did. Well played, Sir... well played

I would Love to be able to do that, even with the Scareactors within the Haunt so I could see the whole aspect of it, just without them coming at me. Last year, I went to Fall Freakout (the same trip that I went through Club Blood with Indyguy4KI), and as one of the Event perks we were given lights on tours of Cuthroat Cove and Eternity Infirmary. I REALLY enjoyed that, because I was able to really take my time and check out all of the work and effort put forth in the mazes, as well as kind of picture where would be good scare points for the Scareactors. The only time I got scared during those tours, was when Darlene accidentally set off a guillotine prop in Cuthroat Cove with me standing directly in front of it looking at it! LOL, Indyguy and I jumped about 3 feet in the air, as did Darlene because she didnt expect it to happen.

This, is exactly why I do NOT go through Haunts. I wish I could, I really do, because I Love the work put into the layout, and the theatrics aspect of the makeup and outfits that the Scareactors put on. If I could experience the Haunts simply for that, Id jump at the chance. My problem is, my tactical and unarmed combat training I received in the Police Academy and on the Force doesnt lend well to people approaching me in an aggressive manner and getting within inches of me. While my rational mind KNOWS that the Scareactors cannot and will not touch me in any way, Im trained to engage in a takedown maneuver when I am approached in the way that Scareactors are trained to do. I have gone through ONE active Haunt... Club Blood at Cedar Point last year with Indyguy4KI... and I had to go through with my hands in my pockets and stay very close to him to avoid doing something I genuinely didnt want to do to people who were simply doing what they were supposed to do.

Hey, isnt that this little guy??

1-3 Magnum ejector air FTW!!! Otherwise, I definitely agree with you 100% about not sitting on a wheel seat, the massive ejector just makes the pain worth it in my opinion lol.

Not even remotely a contest... Cedar Point.

YOUR Top Ten Coasters

What?!?!? No Rolling Dumpster??? -
Actually, the more I think about it, I am going to WoF for Coastin for Kids next year, so Mamba will always be number one in "times ridden" after that.
-
The only reason I know for a fact its Mamba, is because I used to live 3 hours from WoF, and I would ride it proabably 8 to 10 times on every visit. I used to go 5 or 6 times a year from 1998 on (Mambas opening year), through 2007 when we moved to Indiana. The only coasters I would consider riding that often in one visit now, are Magnum, Millie, Dragster, and Maverick, and I live to far from CP to go often enough for any of those to challenge my count on Mamba for at least the next decade.
-
Wow, Zombie Thread LOL. Since I never saw this when it was first created, I will say that the coaster I have ridden more than any others is Mamba at WoF. I absolutely LOVE that ride, especially the first two or three ride cycles after the ride has been shut down, and then power has been restored (those who have had this experience, will know why).

One can own, without owning ALL. As Medford said, it is a good bet that Don is enjoying at least a small bit of FUN, along with His job title.

OK, just have to say stan, I just noticed your modified avatar and it is EPIC!! Love it, and never a truer sign has been made!

My very first coaster was the now defunct "Roller Coaster" at the equally defunct Riverview Park in Des Moines, Iowa.

There are a very select few I follow on these forums... other than that, KI is just another park to me. I enjoy parks of all different types, and KI has its pros and cons as do all parks. I am a hobbyist, at best, and FAR from an enthusiast.

Ah... but will it be on a Tuesday?? (Tuesday's Gone With The Wind)

Who said anything about driving?
-
Thank you for this, Monroe. I had contemplated on commenting since, as you can see by my Screen name, I do this by Trade... but A)I was not sure where the substations were and B)Didnt want to delve into three phase distribution and all of the other intricacies.

While I could tell it was an authentic video, I too was VERY surprised that they removed it that way. I thought they would, at minimum, disassemble the passenger compartment on the ground before dropping the tower... and I figured that would have been done with a crane and torch as opposed to a shape charge.
-
if I dont end up there tomorrow, Im facing my fears and going to Haunt next week, and will be going up on the tower to get photos and observe...as well as a few other locations. Any photos that show progress (if any) will be posted. You are correct, Shawn, that the helix will be the best place to look for first signs of deconstruction.

Cedar Point Parking
IBEW_Sparky replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I absolutely agree with you about the costs of the passes. Now as far as parking is concerned, I do know that where there is money to be made, the "proper" business mantra is to make it. The flip side to that is, I feel that owners of said parking lots are taking advantage of what can be called a "captive audience". I understand its far cheaper to park at a CF park than it is at a SIX park... or even in a secure parking lot in a major city... but I do think $10 is more than enough to park in what is honestly an unsecured lot.
