I think that, unless material technology has improved drastically since 2016, they are blowing it by once again painting a track red. I use 2016 as an example because that is the year Dragster was repainted crimson red, and look at current photos of the tophat to see how well that has aged. The brown supports will be cool for the reasons already mentioned, but the red track gets a no from me, dawg. Granted, my opinion means all of zilch, but there it is for better or worse.

Just FYI, the price tag on "Goodbye Coney Island, Goodbye" is on the inside front cover, and it is $6.95. They are all original 1972 print NOS (New Old Stock) and once they are gone, they are gone. I got one in mid October, and it is a fantastic read.

I think what needs to happen first and foremost is an injection of reality..... why would any company with a modicum of business sense spend an extremely large amount of money to remove one or multiple things in order to redevelop an area, when there is already a very bare plot of land roughly 1/4 mile south of it that is already prepared for development? The last CM I attended was 2015, one I dubbed "Failmania" especially in comparison to the grand event that was CM2014 and I was actually thinking of giving it another shot this coming season. With this report of CM22, I am having second thoughts.

While I understand the supposed optical draw of red (a color in and of itself I cannot stand), there HAS to be another color on the spectrum that has the same stand out properties without the ridiculous fade/oxidation prone properties that red does. As "bland" as some think it may be, I would rather see white and silver like the Led Zeppelin coaster at the former Hard Rock Park. I mean, Ive never personally seen a red.. or burgundy... snake in my life so they can certainly use something besides that color.

Also, note he stated "A little bit of a color change"... that is the snippet that interested me.

In regards to DB and Orion running, I believe @IndyGuy4KI and I can both attest to the fact that both of those should fit squarely in the "Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD" category. We rode Millie on a mid October Sunday in 2013 after Fall Freakout, and after one ride at a reported 39 degrees.... no BS, we both checked different weather sites and both backed up 39 degrees... we headed quickly back to the car to warm up and head for home.

That could be said about every single event held everywhere.

CP has had these for SV and Millie since 2020 and even as an insane SV fan there still isnt one in my house, nor are they sold out on the website, so for those who want one of these but dont have the cash to drop on it just yet, dont worry.

Maybe they realized it was/is the Edsel of passes, and tried to utilize the "Move along, nothing to see here" method in hopes that it will quietly fade into obscurity in order to quietly discontinue it after this season.
