Have you ever ridden either an invert or a diver? Each of the 3 inverts I've ridden (Raptor, Dueling Dragons and Montu) have been absolutely spectacular. The dive machine I've ridden (Sheikra) was fun, but not very impressionable. I've always wondered why folks around here tend to clamor for dive machines. I suggest you go to Busch Gardens and ride their diver and invert in the same setting. See which one you would rather ride a second time. Of all of the steel coaster possibilities, a B&M Invert would be my first choice. Inverted coasters used to be my favorite but now they always give me the spinnies so I would prefer a Dive or Giga for that reason. I'm also not a fan of over the shoulder harnesses so hopefully it will have lap bars similar to Diamondback. I've been on Montu, Dueling Dragons, Raptor, Great Bear and Volcano. I would take a coaster similar a i305, Millennium Force or Sheikra over all of them because I can ride them over and over without getting the spinnies. I agree with you there. Inverts usually put me out of commission for at least an hour after riding one. Assuming this is an invert, I would ride it to see what it is like but if it does to me what Raptor and Batman did, I probably won't ride it again.

New for 2014, KI's all new area, the "Dangle Zone". So that would make I-71 "Highway to the Dangle Zone"? I was waiting for a Top Gun joke...
-
Who said it has to be Unique? As long as its new and shiny it will get peoples attention. I would think that it should be considering it is replacing a very high profile ride that was itself very unique even if it was a failure.

and how would an invert be something to really market at new and unique. inverts have been around for a long time.
-
I agree.

I was thinking the same thing. Their teaser sounds like a launch coaster of some sort.

I am glad my old lady made the list. She was very sweet.

perhaps...I think a lot of the drive to make them work may have been lost with Will. There have also been plenty of other distractions lately as well.

Oh, what FUN it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh (Timberliners?) In 2014? In Spencer County, Indiana? Good luck with that. no kidding. 4 years for testing...how did Mt Olympus have Hades 360 Timberliner up and running so fast if it really takes that long?

peeing over the fence certainly would be easier from the tower, but since you can't spit from up there I am positive it would be against Ohio state law. maybe for more than one reason...

I talked to a very nice older lady who was working in Action Zone a couple weeks ago. When she saw me peering over the fence she said I could get a much better view from the tower. She told me that she knew one of the contractors building what ever it is and because of this she knew what was going to be built but could not share it with me because it was not worth losing her job. She did say that they would not be able to keep it a secret much longer because it would be pretty obvious. I remarked that it looked like it could be a roller coaster and she just smiled. I know that is not really any new information but her unwillingness to share and the fact that she was older lead me to believe what she told me was true. I couldn't resist at least she was not selling dippin dots...

Like Flight Commander's que perhaps? good idea. they might as well use it for something.

My guess would be the two parks are attracting a some what different crowd. Cedar Point maybe has more thrill seekers and thus has longer lines for the coasters. Look at Dollywood for example. They have tons of people that go there just for shows and food that never ride a thing. I have been there at times when you get there and think the park looks full but then get in line for a ride and it is a walk on.
-
none because you have to go all the way to Canada to ride the one and only one in the world. Intamin Giga's are nice though
-
The only B&M inverts I have ridden are Raptor and a Batman. Based on those two rides I am not a fan. I hope it is something else. If it is a B&M I am hoping for a Giga.

Amusement Park Accident
Aaron88stang replied to flightoffear1996's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I say fake. Wouldn't the people standing around freak out if they saw that? -
That was just under 20 years ago. They just filed for the name, why wouldn't they use it? Kings Island had a coaster named "Demon" a long time ago. How is that ok, but not Banshee? My thoughts exactly...what is so bad about Banshee compared to other names that have been used?

I wish fun perks could stay, but the ticket offer is nice. I did not realize until I printed it out that it was good for up to 4 tickets. That is pretty sweet.

I totally missed that some how. Do you have a link?

Did I miss something? What is this about a new Bier Garden?
