  1. Maverick is fun but really would be so much better with different restraints...
  2. A "Dick" move indeed. Sorry, I could not help myself.
  3. I loved Banshee. It is my third B&M invert after Batman and Raptor and I can honestly say the first one I really liked. It's intense but I did not feel thrown around relentlessly like from Batman or ready to hurl like Raptor. Very good job B&M and KI. Banshee is a winner.
  4. You know the thing that makes me saddest about losing this ride is how excited Will was for it opening year. I remember all the trouble he went through to get a part for it to have it up and running for Holiwood Nights and him standing there as I got off it for the first time asking how I enjoyed the new ride...
  5. I saw all the Action Zones changes and improvements at Media Day but how is the rest of the park? Is there anything interesting that is different this year?
  6. Maybe they had some left over paint from Banshee and The Bat. It looks like a combination of those two rides' colors.
  7. Has there been any request by the park not to post anything during media day? I just don't want to break any rules
  8. New paint is almost always good.
  9. Was the Ferris Wheel a record holder at one time?
  10. King Louie is a cat...Maybe they will tie it to him some how
  11. The lottery only applies if you are camping. You don't have to be selected if you are staying in a hotel.
  12. Yes the arcade at CP has a very nice collection of games old and new. I was in Geek Heaven.
  13. I just spoke with reservations for the hotel room and the promo rate is only good for Friday night...
  14. The park (which is owned by the state) was used as collateral to guarantee the loans which are being used to reopen it, so yes the tax payers are at risk. I have mixed emotions about that fact being both a Kentucky tax payer and someone who would like to see this park open again. I agree with you that the park "can go its own path" and make investments as management sees fit rather than following the lead of other parks in the region but it would be foolish to not acknowledge that those other parks are indeed competition because their markets do overlap and Kentucky Kingdom is right on the middle of them. Like it or not that is a fact. That being said I am cautiously optimistic that the park will succeed.
  15. Yes a sound effect at the top of the lift would not be bad. Something like Holiday World does with Legend.
  16. I may be the only one hoping for Banshee to be forceful but not too forceful. Batman is just too much for me. You get flung around from one element to the next with nothing in between. I am not a fan of Raptor either. I am probably just getting too old I am sincerely hoping that Banshee is something I will want to ride every trip and not only once to say I did it.
  17. The Beast's lift hill music is very loud if you are on the ground near the lift hill...The station and queue are far enough away that you don't hear it there. I would assume the situation would be the same for AE's sound effects.
  18. Indeed, a problem plaguing the entire park. I wonder why something with so simple a fix is not addressed. It must not be considered a problem by the decision makers. I guess I answered my own question.
  19. I think Tomb Raider (and the loss of the keel boats) was a bigger blow to the theme. I miss KCKC...
  20. Surely there has at least been some ground prep-work. I was assuming that they mean vertical construction would start in January or at least pouring of the footings...Has any one on here been by there to verify if any work has been done at all?
