I rode the one at Kentucky Kingdom with my daughter and we both loved it. The one there has the frog theme. It kind of reminded me of a mini version of Kennywood's Kangaroo. It works off the same principle. Its just smaller and has the ramp located in the center of the ride rather than directly under the ride vehicle.

The back row is my favorite

I hope this is not permanent.

If the lady got her season pass revoked for climbing a fence into a restricted area, that looks pretty suspect and surely the park kept written record of this happening. That certainly puts her story about the water slide in doubt. Plus one of her friends testifying that it is all a extortion ploy should put this to rest. If someone is legitimately hurt due to negligence that is one thing, but this sounds way fishy.

Starliner, Starliner 2.0?

Didn't Cypress Gardens pretty much replace all the wood anyway? I always thought it was a shame Lego Land did not keep the ride. -
Thanks for the bump. I was unaware that Hershey had an Arrow Hydroflume. I am planning on going there next summer and that gives me one more thing to be excited about! I miss KCKC.

Vortex acting werid when I went last. (last weekend)
Aaron88stang replied to JubJester's topic in Trip Reports
It got stuck at the top for about 15 minutes. Then it took 5 - 10 minutes to get it lowed down (they were lowering it slow) At least this particular WindSeeker has not had multi-hour evacs like most of the others. At least none that I have heard of. I wonder if something has been changed to make the lowering process quicker than it first was when the other parks had people stuck at the top for 2 and 3 hours. -
Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
Aaron88stang replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This could work well If they plan on making the rumored third track Fast Pass+ only access. If they also removed the Fast Pass+ guests from the other two, it should allow them to move faster as well. I have some friends there right now and got a text the other night from one of them saying how awesome the system was working for him with the phone app. I have a WDW trip coming up in December so I will reserve final judgement after experiencing it for myself. I agree that the whole system does seem a bit flawed but there is some serious potential there too. -
Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant

That is nasty. -
Yes very Disneyesque. Like Disney, the experience started the moment you entered the indoor queue. Now that room is nothing but an empty shell with TVs none the less. I still can not figure out why they keep those 3D looking busts covered up in the hallway back to the loading station. That was a neat effect that could still be used with the current ride.

The fair board is not going to spend money to do that.

There was some folks doing that chant on KK's pirate ship earlier this year. I could not help but laugh a little.

Maybe they are including the original cost of the shuttered rides plus the cost to refurbish them. It would make the statement of a 30 million dollar "expansion" technically true but not a 30 million dollar investment for 2015. I know that is really stretching things but is plausible in how they came up with the figure.
-
i believe that figure bests its final year or so under Six Flags. That is some measure of success particularly with much of the park still shuttered and a relatively short operating season. As a fan of KK and a KY tax payer I am pulling for them I hope they up their marketing attempts next year as well. That was certainly lacking this year.

Those figures and the so far unannounced new rides are here: http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2014/09/25/kentucky-kingdom-drew-first-year-re-opening/16179885/

Pricing airline tickets is a miserable frustrating experience. So much variation...

Thoughts on Geauga Lake's Big Dipper
Aaron88stang replied to KI Guy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I read that this morning and found it very interesting. I was going to share it myself but it seems I have been beaten to the punch. -
The 2015 Season Pass add says that they will have extended hours and more operating days next season. I hope they intend to operate into October and do a Halloween event. That is an easy way to boost yearly attendance. I was surprised it took Holiday World so long to do a Halloween event there...

Thanks for the advice.

I skipped Mean Streak this year but I rode it a couple years ago. I did not really find it rough but just not that fun. It seemed slow and a boring layout. Blue Streak on the other hand is great fun. I would not call it rough at all.

What is good to eat at Camden Park? I will be there this coming Saturday.

I'm going tomorrow to take advantage of the season pass special. The weather is supposed to be perfect. It should be a good day.
-
I tried to get two different fountains at KK to fill up my free bottle I got with my season pass and neither would work. I am not sure if it was something about that bottle or if they just were both broken.
-
Thanks for the TR. I have been wanting to go to Camden Park myself for awhile. I am finally going to get the chance next weekend as we are stopping there on the way to Kings Dominion.

The really telling thing would be to know the attendance figures. I wonder if those will be released. I would assume they will be if the numbers are good or at least manage to beat what Six Flags did.
