  1. I agree with Terpy that 2014 should be fine. Pent up demand should allow them to have good attendance from the locals with minimal marketing expense, so perhaps the little marketing they are doing presently makes sense. Hopefully it will ramp up in the spring, particularly in other markets they intend to draw from as it gets closer to time to open the gates. Also they will need spend more next fall to support 2015. I wish them the best and am trying to be cautiously optimistic about the parks future but I have not followed the industry as long or as closely as many that post here. I am very excited to see the park re-opening and plan on making several visits next year.
  2. Has a list of coaster clubs invited to media day been released any where?
  3. I purchased one the morning following the announcement and uploaded a picture a couple days later. I was contacted this week about my photo needing to be rotated. I uploaded it straight from my iphone so I did not realize it was not oriented correctly. The person that contacted me had me email them another picture and said it would be processed shortly. I am hoping the pass comes sometime this week. I thought the option to upload the photo and get processed in advance was pretty cool. It sure beats standing in line at the park. I have only had season passes at two other parks so this may be more common than I realize but I have not seen the option before.
  4. I guess they had to prioritize with time and money being limited. I am happier they are getting something new and spent the money to retrack Thunder Run than would be for an operating T2.
  5. Behind ET around BLSC there are remnants of something that was once a pretty cool light show themed to Peanuts characters
  6. great pics. I wish I could have gone but it did not work out for me. maybe for the 20th birthday
  7. Outlaw Run was built from scratch...What ever Twisted Twins becomes will be built from scrap...
  8. It looks like this is just the beginning of a multi-year expansion to Thanksgiving. This quote from the same web page: “We’re not finished with Thanksgiving,” says Eckert. “Just as it’s our American tradition to serve a bounteous Thanksgiving meal, there are more ‘servings’ planned for the coming years.”
  9. That happened to me once on Racer. Hit me a little different. It was not a pleasant experience, but not enough to keep me off Racer.
  10. I hear that they are not satisfied with the evacuation procedure. I believe I read that on Screamscape so take that with a grain of salt, but it sounds plausible to me.
  11. They have never re-opened theirs. The rumor is that the State of California will not allow them to do so.
  12. I am glad we finally are going to have a Rocky Mountain Coasters creation within a reasonable driving distance. It looks like I finally have a really good excuse to visit SFGAm.
  13. I wish they would price FL like they do at Kennywood where you can pay for only what you want. Coasters, water rides and flats all sold separately. granted it is not unlimited rides and you have specific ride times but it is also a lot less expensive.
  14. Well I am glad to hear HW is not selling the new train...One less crazy business decision I have to worry about with them. I do hope the Koch's can get things settled and get back to business as usual. Will must be spinning in his grave over this.
  15. Are you sure that is why they are running one train? One train operation irks me too (are you listening Kennywood on a busy weekend day?) but there are several other reasons that they would choose to do that make more sense than the train is tearing up the track. It probably has more to do with the current management.
  16. I thought the Voyage was running fine this year at Holiwood Nights. Better than it has in several years...I don't understand all the negativity about it. Beast is running great this year too. Its been a great year for woodies in our part of the country. As far HW selling the new train ride, I really don't understand that unless they decided to fix the old one but they put new track down and everything for the new one. It makes little to no sense. It has been such a strange year for HW. I am sure the family strife has caused a lot of it but I really don't get some of these recent decisions even in light of that.
  17. The thing that sticks out to me the most from this announcement is $300M in investments over the next 10 years. That is a lot of money for new projects.
  18. I have only ridden the one in Florida but I am a huge fan of the ride as I really enjoy dark rides and the Haunted Mansion is still one of the tops in the category. During my last trip to Disney World I bought a book about the Haunted Mansion. It covers everything from the early concepts, creation and changes to the rides over the years and has comparisons between the different versions around the world. Amazon has it if anyone wants to give it a read. I read it cover to cover. http://www.amazon.com/The-Haunted-Mansion-Kingdom-Updated/dp/1423118952/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376578478&sr=8-6&keywords=disney+haunted+mansion
  19. I was thinking Prime too Banshee, transform and roll out!
