Me too...
-
I opted to upgrade my combo at the Burrito Shack for $8 to include a souvenir cup. The line was moving extremely slow and after the guy rang me up he hit something wrong on the register and had to re-enter the order. The second time he opted to let me have the souvenir cup free...I guess for my trouble or to save time. Either way. it was strangely generous but did make up for the wait. I assumed he was a supervisor because he was running around helping where he could on both the line and the register and for the most part seemed to know what he was doing. I got a free refill later at the new Coke Market and all went smooth. I chalked up to it being opening day and things will get better plus I got a free souvenir cup so I am happy

I love red, but I would have painted the supports that red and the track another color, maybe black! All red is almost to much... I have to agree that two tone would have looked better but it is what it is...I am just hoping the new trains improve the ride experience.

The red is VERY visible from the airport now. I noticed that in December when we were flying out there. It's far from my first choice but I don't hate it. It will be a nice contrast to the blue water of the wave pool in front of it.

My experience was: "Holy Crap that is a long line. Maybe next weekend..."

Thanks for the heads up. I will be coming up tomorrow morning and had no idea of the construction.

That looks nice. I am very excited to see the other improvements to International Street.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk

Such prime land wasted by those dorms... -
They just announced on Facebook that season pass holders get free parking. yay!
-
I hope it is a good impact...

It kind of creates a little 1950s inspired area with the Jukebox Diner across the way. I wonder if they will spruce Jukebox up to match the "new" ride.

yeah I am not sure why he did not say something. When I caught back up with him I had assumed that he had rode until he told me what happened.

Coaster Campout 2015
Aaron88stang replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Call me silly but that makes sense to me. Why go if you don't want to/aren't able to...... CAMP OUT? For us it was mainly because I wanted to take my three year old daughter who would not have done well with the camping (especially in hindsight after the whole monsters in the middle of the night wake up) I wanted to go to participate in the ERT and other benefits of the event and really did not mind not getting to camp. Also Cedar Point was kind enough to let me have an extra guest as the original rules said you could only bring one if you were staying at the hotel. I also got the promo rate at Hotel Breakers for both nights. It was a great deal and we had an awesome time. There was plenty more to the event other than just camping... -
Coaster Campout 2015

My family went last year but opted to stay at Hotel Breakers (at a reduced rate) rather than camp. It does not look like that is an option this year. It was a great event. I highly recommend it if it works for you. -
So weren't they supposed to be replacing the Peanuts Theater with a petting zoo? It looks like it is still standing to me...
-
I'm glad they're not. It's a low capacity ride, it could make the regular line really long. Cedar Point's flyers were part of the Fast Lane last year. I have distinct memories of standing under a very hot June sun with no shade and being *this close* to ride and kids with the Fast Lane wristbands coming running up. There goes another ride cycle. I'm glad the Woodstock Gliders won't be part of that system. And I really really hope there will be shade over the queue area. The flyers at KD were on Fast Lane last year. My friend was the only one in the Fast Lane line and was passed over for two ride cycles before he got mad and left the "line".

The right combination of all of those things is what makes a great coaster.

I did the spinning side once. Done. checked off the bucket list. No need to ever do it again unless I lose a bet.

Is there a manufacturer out there currently making adult size Whips? There really needs to be...
-
How do the agreements with the companies that bring in the rides work? Who pays who for them to be there? How do the profits get divided up?

It was a lot cooler when I was a kid...
-
what's wrong with that? haha

I walked through the midway last year and was not impressed. they had two of pretty much everything that was there and nothing was worth buying tickets to ride...

Why does the Fair Board even bring in another ride operator during the State Fair when they own an amusement park on the same grounds? Sell fair tickets with or without the Kingdom included for those who do or don't want to ride...Are the additional spinny pukey rides really that big of a draw?

The only woodie in the CF chain I can think of that would be a good RMC conversion candidate is Mean Streak. Its pretty, but that is all it has going for it. It's not really a classic in my mind. It's fairly rough and not really all that thrilling/fun in my opinion. Have at that one boys but stay away from the others. There are others that need work (I am looking at you Hurler twins) but not conversions.
