Could the next Kings Island ride removal be a Soak City water ride?
silver2005 replied to Dj325's topic in Coming Attractions
Kings Island monitors the conditions of their rides all the time and have reports and studies from their manufactures as to their shelf life, so they probably knew within the last 5 years it wasn't going to last. It was only surprising to everyone else who doesn't follow the industry that in depth. -
^I'd argue its this. silver2005, crossthreading.

The Beach Waterpark is for sale!
silver2005 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^Said chair lift would have to be a mile long going 1 way and would have to go across I-71 and above several restaurants and hotels, and I imagine a lot of headaches getting it approved. -
^I think TR is a tad bit more compact due to that as well as having tighter turns. And I've rode both TR and the former KD Hurler to know the difference. silver2005, who hopes to get to the Hartland on the way to HWN next summer.
-
^TR's hills have smaller radius' at the top which produce more airtime. Hurler takes that and draws everything out. To me, TR's first bunny hill after the first drop is one of the best out there.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
silver2005 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I'm in support of a launch coaster mostly if it actually has some decent speed to it, like 70+ mph and actually has a layout to accommodate said speed. Mack has hit the upper 60s, so 70+ should be doable. -
The thing is, though, that the GP (the more centered demographics parks are trying to get) are fine with these additions and innovation isn't that big a deal as long as parks are meeting their ROI. I think many here have their visions of the park and the industry at large clouded by not seeing that. The GP is more easily impressed than we are.

Its not just that KK has the height restrictions, but there are specific areas in the park where they can only build higher as well due to said airport.

@SonofBaconator Don't you know? Enjoying things is just silly. -

^Except that isn't the only context parks have to work with. I'm sure many parks have said yes to that question. Also- case and point- Alton Towers. -

^If the parks sees a good potential ROI for building something in a certain spot regardless of the issues, than it really doesn't matter that much, right? I mean, that pretty much explains every ride ever made in the history of amusement parks. A little soil problem won't stop them from building in Action Zone again. -

^You mean like that longest inverted coaster in the world that they 'just built' in Action Zone? -
Markers at Cedar Point
silver2005 replied to gforce1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
@dbackdreamsThis is a Cedar Point thread. -
^Unless Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, and Mos Def were involved, it doesn't count.

^My only issue with Gerstlauer was them signing off on their wooden trains to be run on Son of Beast.
-
^Some of the wording is confusing then, because it looks like you're lumping Gerstlauer with Intamin (which would be somewhat plausible but not quite equivalent).
-
Uh....CF recently purchased a Gerstlauer. Post-Smiler accident. https://rcdb.com/15413.htm

Could the rattles found on newer B&M's perhaps have something to do with the kinds of stresses where the coaster structures are supposed to sway a little in order to accommodate certain forces? Perhaps the super tight wheel alignments like on earlier B&M's had more wear and tear on certain parts and wheels were cheaper to replace than said parts?
-
I think I have an issue in this category- some of the photos I've posted in the random photo thread don't show (at least on my end), I think they got that way after a few weeks/a month or so.

^You really want to put said new ride's entrance/exit and Beast's entrance/exit that close together? -
^The ones I use are similar material but double layered. They are pretty comfortable all things considered (this coming from someone who has to breathe in steam for 8 hours when I work at Skyline). I have 4 of them to rotate through. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086Z61G4B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
silver2005 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
I'm surprised MIA is even opening. MIA's water park isn't that big. I may like the park, but I also know its the CF park scraping the bottom of the barrel. silver2005, who wishes that MIA got Knott's Boomerang.
