Break? Please stop!
-
Without a doubt, Viking Fury and Congo Falls. While I think that most people are completely oblivious to it, the level of attention to detail on both of those rides will likely never be seen again at Kings Island.

Thrills Connect.

I'm pretty sure I know what he'll say
-
I'm not an expert in construction, but I have a feeling that even those inflated figures for the old rides wouldn't touch what it would really cost to build them today.
-
I love terrain hugging coasters. I'd love to see one go into sob's spot, but I don't see it happening...it would be surrounded by other terrain huggers.
-
Wonder how many unsuspecting people staying at GWL were wondering what the heck was going on?
-
As I sit here now, I really can't believe it's gone....gonna look so weird this spring!

Which ride would you ride again if you could? TRTR/SOB
KIfan73 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in KI Polls
I rode both when they were new, and for years afterwards. There's no comparison (in my opinion). -
I would like to see them just open the shops on IS for holiday shopping!
-
I noticed some land clearing in the area of SoB...

I still remember seeing Vortex for the first time, in 1992. I'm kind of surprised, really, that I was able to work my nerve up to get on it (I didn't ride it that visit, I think it was the next one). It was so massive, so completely overwhelming in size to me.

Anyone else find this to be a particularly interesting tweet? KingsIslandPR: Park visitors could get one of these when they visited Cincinnati's Coney Island in 1971. http://t.co/pRJ9gMFs

Was that a play on words? Nice.

^You know, I think that's my favorite area of Kings Island…just before you walk in. Aahh! Now I want it to be April already!
-
I think the park could develop out into areas not previously thought of before. In 1972, who would have thought a major use of the train would be give people rides to a water park? Or, when they built the International Restaurant, would they ever have imagined that it would later be used for an event by a group of people that typed messages about Kings Island on a (probably not-yet-invented) personal computer?
-
If that doesn't confirm that a new coaster will be built there, I don't know what would.
-
Well, they could have put some animatronic dinosaurs along the path to make it interesting (awhile back)!
-
They were floating? I bet that was eerie.

All the rides at Kings Island will be going into hibernation in just a few short hours (didn't the park just open for the season yesterday?). At the same time-much like getting strapped into Flight of Fear-we will soon be launching into six months of speculations, conspiracy theories, rumors, bickering, supposed "in-the-know" information from "some important park official", as well as things mentioned by the Dippin' Dots guy. Although we all hate to see Kings Island close for the season, we can all be kept warm and merry by reading nearly-daily updates ranging from potholes being filled on Kings Island drive to sightings of semis carrying ride parts anywhere within a 300 mile radius of Mason, Ohio. While we say farewell to Kings Island's 40th anniversary season, who's ready to discuss 2013 and beyond??

^When someone posts something almost exactly the same as I think, I always like to mention it! Although I lack a great deal of knowledge about the amusement industry, it didn't make much sense to me, either.

If Kings Island had maintained their original premise of being a true resort area, an entry way that you'd drive under once you reached Kings Island Drive would have been neat.
-
How much do you know about Kings Island's over all history
KIfan73 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in KI Polls
I've read a lot about it on the Internet, including this site. So, I probably don't know much about it at all. -
I'm jealous of the people that go often enough to actually accumulate a worthwhile amount of points.
