Child Dies On Unattended Ride In Colombia
FOFreak replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow this is a very tragic story, It just shows how much responsibility a ride-op really has. -
I've been looking at the diagram and while a new area seems like a great and very logical idea for the park, the shape does not look like an area. If so it looks extremely bottle-necked and unorganized. So this, in my opinion. doesn't look like a new area. Although I've been wrong before.

^How would they go about moving something of that size?

I'm willing to bet that if anyone is going to get a coaster in 2012, it will be a park in Sandusky. As many of you may know, their coaster count is falling behind a certain park with six flags.
-
Wow I love it when this happens. Kings Island PR just stirring the pot. It reminds me of when I first joined here during the 2008 season when Diamondback was simply called "Mystery Construction". I often miss those days. But what was once old, is now new again.

Staged? Most likely. Fake? I don't think so. PR does this to get people excited about 2012. And they wouldn't toy with us simply to install a new drainage system for the parks plumbing..

What's your favorite dark ride?
FOFreak replied to CedarPointer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Flight of Fear. For sure. Second on my list would have to be Tomb Raider: The Ride. Not to be confused with the Crypt, which is one of my least favorite dark rides. I wish both of these rides were more heavily themed nowadays, but as we all know, theming is not Cedar Fair's cup of tea. It makes me question what the park would be like if it were still to be owned under Paramount. -

^I hope so! I feel like X-Base has been an extremely neglected part of the park for some time now. I felt the same about Coney Mall as well. So I'm glad its getting some attention. IMO, X-Base and Action Zone are both in need of some attention. -

If this is the parks slogan this year, it'll be yet another terrible slogan for Kings Island. -
Yes, in fact, I can ride Revolution at Holiday World.

That was a great trip report! You take amazing pictures! But $10.99 for a burger and fries? You could get all of this for under $5 in a world of holidays.

Strange footprint in the snow on KI Facebook page.
FOFreak replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
Oh, I am very sorry for your loss Terpy. So is the heart depicted in the KI Facebook post the same as the AHA heart, just twisted up a bunch? Because I don't see it. -

Is that why its so twisted? -

Another peculiar post straight off KI's Official Facebook Page: What could this be? My curiousity is at an all time high right now. -

So my question is, what is this footprint for? Is there a point to it besides to tease us? -

I like Interpreter's post, he was proving a legitimate point. Sure, he has a roundabout way of going about it, but it was indeed relevant. Now about The Vortex queue, I do very much agree that it would be benefited by the switchback idea. It often spills out into the midway on busy days, and blocks the midway at times. I like the idea a lot! And btw, TOPGUN, I love your Photoshops! You always do a great job on your illustrations. -
..And I enjoy your thinking points greatly. Thank you. I think you did a great job explaining that, and you brought up a great point. I actually had neglected to consider the sellers stand-point on the issue. And thinking upon it now, I honestly don't think I would like to have anything to do with Son of Beast. Sure, I'd love more than anything to see it get the Texas Giant treatment! Do I think it'll happen? I'm still indecisive.
-
In my opiniion, the Son of Beast name is worth marketing. On the enthusiast side of things, sure, some have seen its hard times. But the majority of the enthusiasts knew about the Texas Giant renovation. So they would most likely know if Son of Beast were to be in the process of renovation as well. Which will in turn, cause them to want to try it out once more. If CP fixes the ride for the better, it may cause the Son of Beast name to be saved once and for all. And on the GP side of things, most GP (excluding more frequent guests) do not know some of the past woes of Son of Beast, but only know that there is an extremely aesthetically pleasing coaster that they are not able to ride, and who's know-abouts are unknown because there are no references of its existence in the park. So the way I look at it, the Texas Giant treatment can only mean good things for Son of Beast. The only thing that can now be debatable is its hefty price tag. Maybe CP can wait for it to go on sale?
-
Wow! During this complete renovation, I assumed it was just going to be fix to the ride itself. But it looks like a completely new, better ride! This makes me hope that they do something along the lines of this with Son of Beast in the future!
