  1. I don't know why people think Mean Streak is rough. Boring, slow, uneventful and forceless? Yes. Rough? No.
  2. This made me laugh. I hope you have his laugh, too.
  3. Well that all depends. I think it should be another high-thrill ride along the lines of Diamondback. Why? I just think the timing is right for it. Also I'm not sure if SoB being closed the same year Diamondback opened was planned. But Kings Island is a business and they don't add multi million dollar attractions because they think the timing is right. Or do they? This is fun/FUN.
  4. You have never been to Kings Island? You should go sometime, its the buzz! It's the bee's knees.
  5. Just to push the conversation along and give us something different to talk about, what should be the target market for this attraction? Why?
  6. I'm a Business Administration major. I should have worded it better. I wish they taught that in the first two years of college.
  7. Gatekeeper was announced before they ever started making the track. There is plenty of time.
  8. I have created a photo that shows what areas of Vortex I think are uncomfortable. Photo by Joyrides.com
  9. While you are all talking about snacks: Best chips ever.
  10. Goes off to google the difference. This is the kind of stuff I wish college would teach.
  11. I believe so, because I have seen Walt over at Pointbuzz post official numbers before, but they aren't supposed to be made public. I could be wrong, though.
  12. Nobody mentioned Le Scoot Log Flume. It is a classic log flume with great scenery. Make sure to ride it.
  13. EDIT: Ignore this. I had a video, but after watching it all the way through, it was too gross to put up here.
  14. Yeah, our area ride ops, for the most part, stay silent. The only reason I was talking on the mic was because we were having a lot of loose articles blocking our light curtain. After I did the spiel for loose articles, the train came in so I just continued with the "welcome back" spiel. I haven't touched the mic since.
  15. Thanks Terp, I needed that. I like Darkastle, but it is falling apart. I have been on it twice since I have been here. Both times the screens and audio were not synched to each other or the cars. The 3D is really good and still makes me flinch. EDIT: I forgot to add that a guest came up to me this week and said he was a professor at Akron, and I couldn't remember what college dr_humor worked at, so I asked if he knew what this site, Pointbuzz, and Coasterbuzz, but it turned out not being him and I had this guy confused.
  16. I agree. I would rather them just build a drop ride on it.
  17. And along with that, many other companies do not release their official numbers. Not sure about SIX, but I was told by a director here at BGW that, because they are a publicly traded company, they can no longer give out attendance numbers on a park by park basis. I do wonder why being a public company changes that.
  18. Ask JC Penney how they are doing. Or Microsoft. Or Best Buy. EDIT: Didn't know there was a whole nother page of comments after his post. Terpy beat me to it.
  19. I didn't do it on purpose was the thing. I've heard that so many times, it just came out.
  20. Yesterday, I took over controls at Griffon for a while and said "Have a nice rest of your day here at Busch Gardens, America's Rockin' Roller Coast. Ride on." Everyone just stared at me.
  21. I can help for the Busch Gardens part, but I have no clue about Kings Dominion. You're best place to eat in BGW is Trappers Smokehouse. It is excellent BBQ, and I have heard stories of pass holders driving to the park on their lunch break just to eat at the Smokehouse. If you are not a fan of BBQ, try the pizza or spaghetti in Italy. Also make sure to get a chocolate banana crepe from the crepe stand in France. Super good and also served to you by people actually from Paris. They are really cool people. There is not really any special approach to visiting Busch Gardens. There are few enough rides and attractions that you do not need a game plan to conquer the park. There are some things you should not miss while in the park. Ride the Skyride all the way around (it has three stations). Watch the show Celtic Fyre in Ireland. Stop by the stables to see the Clydesdales. If you can afford it, buy the Roller Coaster Insider Tour. You'll get to walk around on top of Griffon, and go in all of the maintenance bays. My favorite seat on Griffon is the front seat on the very outside left side. Alpengeist is the best in the back row on the left side. Verbolten is a front seat ride. Apollo is only worth riding in the back row. You can skip Europe in the Air. It is an awful experience. Ride the train. I haven't been on Nessie since I got here. I'm not a fan of Arrow loopers. Take pictures and if you see a tall ginger kid with a name tag that says "ohio" on it, it is me.
