The motorS perform fine and "stress on the motorS" would not be the reason they don't extend the ride cycle. You want to know why they dont extend the cycle? Because it's fine as is and the general public would not notice the difference. Delirium and Maxair are more less the exact same ride. Minus some small differences. Again, the motorS have performed as expected and waiting on a motor from Germany was not the reason for its extended downtime in years past. I'm referring to the ride's downtime from sev seasons ago. At the time, I recall the park saying that it was awaiting a new motor from Huss. Extra stress was also why they tamed Crypt just a few weeks after it opened after its retheme. So was I. They "tamed" The Crypt because it was a last ditch effort to make the ride cost efficient. Not because of "extra stress."

It wouldn't surprise me the least bit to see Delirium get a fresh coat of paint. Frankly, the the ride looks like crap and being right next to the new ride, it's due for one. The smaller section contains the air compressor for the ride and the larger section is nothing but storage and breaker panels.

Plain and simple, Intamin got it right with the KD version.

Transferring a Flighdeck train off the main circuit takes no more than five minutes.
-
Correct... Under 2 train operation the second train is parked (usually) on lift 2. This is false because that's not how they do it on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride at Cedar Point.

Back in my cleanup crew days we coined this as Lake Cleanup and would take our pop breaks back there.

You even got to "seal it?" I'm so jealous. Please flood my inbox with your encyclopedia-like knowledge of steel coasters.

There is a huge difference between a full time maintenance worker and a ride op who tags along.
-
1. The Vortex is not Corkscrew. Secondly, the lift motors are not the same. 2. It's easier for maintenance to inspect the underneath the trains on the ready brakes. At least on the Arrows. 3. Minors transfer the trains off The Beast to the storage shed at the end of the night. Being a half assed ride op at Cedar Point does not make you an expert on Arrow roller coasters at KI.
-
In answer to the original question; parking a train on the lift is easier and safer than going out and chalking and chaining a train on the safety brakes. The trains are not rotated either. Nor is there any more stress put on the lift motor when a train is parked there for the night. Also, being a minor has nothing to with not parking train on the storage rails. It's simply not needed and unnecessary. At least on the Arrow coasters.

To add on to the old Skylab ride trivia... for the longest time, the actual operators booth for the old Skylab ride sat inside the parking lot and served as the attendant shelter for the gold pass parking area. It was there as late as 2010. Not sure if its still there or not.

I would say its in "poor judgement" for you to judge another parent based on a trip to Halloween Haunt. They know their kids, you don't. Let them parent their kids and you stick to yours, (if applicable.)

The purple school building? Uhm no.
-
Does anyone know if these buildings are still standing and where they were at? The school mentioned here wouldn't be the old school that sits at the entrance of the KI employee parking lot/softball fields would it? I believe the old school is purple now and is used for storage for the landscaping department.

What could KI do to each ride to improve it?
AZ Kinda Guy replied to thoe124's topic in Kings Island
Because Diamondback is not Corkscrew. -

Because when capacity is stressed more than customer service, it becomes a problem. Want an example? See Cedar Point. Frankly, the ride ops at CP are rude and I always feel like I'm in the way when I'm riding a ride. I honestly believe the ride ops at CP would much rather run empty cycles on their rides then interact with guests on their rides. -

Just stop. Kings Island is not Cedar Point and it never will be. Just because it works in Sandusky doesn't mean it will work in Mason. Just ask some of the former full time employees. The main words in the title of this thread were "improve rides at Kings Island." Not "turn it into Cedar Point." -
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at WDW

Agreed. Took the wife and kids there in May as well and we were blown away by the attention to detail. The "Be Our Guest Restaurant," is probably the best looking theme park restaurant I've ever been in and the customer service was top notch. We only went there for lunch and have yet to experience dinner there. I guess that just gives us another reason to go back! -
Does anyone remember the walk up attraction that slimed people by having two people standing side by side with two separate pipes overhead and then pulling on a rope and the "slime" would come down on only one person? If I recall correctly, there was no way to determine which pipe the slime would come out of and there was no pattern to determine which one would be next. Anyone remember? Bonus points for the people who can tell me where it was and whats there now.

What could KI do to each ride to improve it?

NO x 1000. You want to donate your time? Great. Give it to a charity or a place that actually needs it. Not a for profit business. -
I can answer this one for you. KI is a business and businesses are in business to make money. They are not in business to appease to a very very small fraction of their customer base and leave an absurd amount of money on the table just so said customer base can get on Diamondback five minutes faster.

Are the snipers still on top of the building?

You see bitterness, I see honesty.

The only difference I noticed was the HB characters were gone inside and so were the scooby snacks.
