  1. The BLSC cars also used to have doors that open and close. They replaced them with seatbelts that attach to the lap bar. The seatbelts were there when the doors still were I am pretty sure. Trust me, no they weren't. That is correct, the seat belts are new this season!
  2. I thought the same thing Dave!
  3. And that right there is the reason they spent the 24 mil to build it. I must say I go over more than I used to to ride DB! CF most definitely made the right choice to build it!
  4. That is a really good one CincyMan.
  5. Not too long ago, there was a third in water ride in Rivertown... Kenton Cove Keelboat Canal. There's several of us on here that miss that ride, even if it was close to two others... Me, Me, Me. I miss that ride Gary!
  6. Um..Paramount didn't choose to "disown" it...they were purchased by Cedar Fair. OK then let me rephrase that. It just seems stupid to purchase Paramount, then let Paramount purchase back? To add to your point, I have read by many on here (not to say that it is the gospel) that Paramount was ready to get out of the Amusement Park business and was looking for a buyer for the parks. I don't think CF just came up to them one day and made them an offer they could not refuse. Correct me if I am wrong here Terpy! If that is truly the case, then why would they want it back? CBS/Viacom became the owners of Paramount... which included the parks division. They became disinterested in retaining ownership of the park division, so they sold them to Cedar Fair which was an interested party. So I was right in what I said in my post. Thanks!

  8. The Beast only has 3 trains... I am hoping they meant 2 of 3 and not 3 of 4! Typos can come back to haunt you!
  9. Thanks for posting your TR. Whatever day you went it seems you had a good time!
  10. It that case, someone needs to tell Gemini to quit horsing around!
  11. OK got the first line, but now I am confused by the rest of the post. Interpreting the Interprerter is usually fun, but this one I am not so sure!
  12. I hope they have the money to do so.
  13. I really thought the stock would have taken off again by now?
  14. Welcome to KIC Tito. Unless things have changed and I did not know about it, the parking lot opens at 8 am and the metal detector gates open about 9am. Then the national Anthem plays at 10 am and the park opens for ticket holders to enter the park. I hope this answers your question.
  15. My favorites are when the ride ops are saying push down and pull up on the speakers, but you still have people stuck in the restraint not releasing it correctly. I usally tell them push down and pull up and on occasion helped them out when the gates opened for me to load the train!
  16. Nice TR, thanks for posting!
  17. I would say I was 6 or 7 when I rode Galaxi at Indiana Beach, although a compact steel coaster, it was big for me. I was probably about the same age when I rode Racer for the first time. I remember then those 2 hills were so big and was the best ride in the park. At least for me anyway. I was about 10 when I rode Best for the first time. That is when I went OMG I love this!
  18. It was proved to the satisfaction of a jury (a situation the park could have avoided had it settled the case, sigh), that the injury claimed in a particular case was caused by the ride. Ok there was that case. I was really thinking of people making claims due to their ride experience, not real evidence.
  19. This has been bugging me so I want to get it out of my system. #1 You mention "the greatest driver ever" but you did not mention the name Richard Petty? Hm, don't get that one at all. #2 Dale Earnhardt basically ended up killing himself by not wearing a Hans device. I do respect Mr. Earnhardt, but as most drivers who drove on the same track as him would attest, he was reckless. ANY driver would tell you the same thing: Safety first, winning second. So it is true that they don't hit the brakes when the green flag waves, they also know that they can't win in a car that is in peaces. This coaster is the same way, I have ridden it both with trims and without, I prefer it with trims. It's not disrespectful at all, as a matter of fact I think it upholds the values of NASCAR. But, back to the ride, if its a tribute to Dale Earnhardt, it should be wide open take no prisoners fast, and, yes, reckless!!! Then we get back to the SOB situation with a rough ride, and injury claims no one can prove either way if it was caused by the ride.
  20. I was also surprised to see Six Flags hosting such a vulgar talking band. For those that know me knows this does not offend me, but I was surprised at the amount of times I heard a certain F word being used in that short video. Six flags is not the right venue for that type of band IMO.
  21. I will agree with Six flags that the band did not help the situation, security was trying to protect the band. The band does have a point though, that they should not have used pepper spray on teenagers, even if they were not using any sense. I think it would have been warranted if they were attacking the security officers, and we do not know if that was the case.
  22. That has been gone for what 3 to 4 years now?
