I saw these signs as well on Friday and was a little confused. The one by Vortex stating you to bring your on ride photo to some place seemed like a way to make more money, which if fine, but after reading that I lost interest in the signs. I then saw the other one where the white board was wiped clean so I did not know what the deal was with this one?

I saw that when I was there Friday. This kid was about 1 inch to short to ride The Racer and was crying as the parent took him out of the station. I felt so bad for him!

Timberliners Delayed
IndyGuy4KI replied to DaveStroem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
During the Holiday Hustle they explained that is was just a program change in the computer, I don't think the brakes really care what type of train it is stopping. -
Racer seemed to win the darnedest thing quotes for me on 6/18. In queue for Vortex right before entering station looking at 4th drop on Racer (2nd, big one) Guy says to wife and kids. "I don't think it is running." Wife "I don"t see any lights." Guy " I don't see the chain moving." Bout 20 seconds later a train goes past kids "Look it's working." Parents "Oh." Getting in queue for Racer where there was a trash can blocking Blue side, a guy comes up behind me in queue which was 3/4 of the way full with no switch backs open. He asks "Is this backwards racer?" Which would have been right by the way, I said "No they turned it around a few seasons ago. Guy "Then we are ridding on the other side" and jumps the queue to the red side. I assumed he noticed the queue being blocked by the trash can, not. His wife and kids follow him by jumping the hand rails. I mention to her that that side was not running yet, but they had to look for themselves I guess. Once they got up there and up into the station they started waking back down again and had to get in the back of the queue for Red again....

Coverage from Will Koch's funeral

I feel the same way. I only meet him once, but after that he seemed like a close friend, for you could tell he cared for people. I think he touched everyone in that way. -
Loved your detailed comments in your report. Can't wait to read the next TR from you!

ERT First Time Beast Ride and some other 2 hour random stuff
IndyGuy4KI replied to Kirk Sheppard's topic in Trip Reports
Nice TR Kirk, thanks for sharing! Glad you had a good time. -
Ok, that is a better analogy. Either way, I hope everyone gets the point I was trying to make. Did the organ music add to atmosphere to the carousel, Yes. Is not having the organ music going to effect park attendance and per caps, doubt it.
-
Or since they just built DB they don't have the funds. DB is going to give a big return on investment, not an organ. Unfortunately for us enthusiasts who apprecite the little details, they get passed up. I also have to think, would I rather see a few details go and see another big coaster come, or see all the theming there and them not have a budget for a new ride. Another way to put it, you have a rust spot on your car and it needs brakes. Do you spend your budget to fix the rust spot or fix the brakes which is going to give you a longer use of your car. Just a few things KI has to decide. I would rather they save up put more money in a new ride to attract new customers so they can stay in business.

You can still ride a Galaxi at Indaina Beach, built in 1971 over Lake Shaffer. This was my first steel coaster! http://www.indianabeach.com/pages/indianabeach_rides

I could not agree with you more Jackson! -
I think they could make money if they got some of those limo golf carts that hold like 9 people you see at some malls and charged a dollar a person to take them to their car. Those would still fit in the old tram area without issues. I would not use it to go to the gold lot, but if I was parked way out and gotten blisters on my feet (like I did a few times ago) it would be worth it. Just a thought!

WOW, just WOW. My thoughts and prayers to the family. This sits you back in your seat and makes me realize how precious life is! -
I like the outside seats the best due to feeling like you hovering in mid air, but any seat is a good seat on DB!

Which is what the park should be about! Exactly right Standbyme!

Just a little, but he was really mad about that. As we walked off the ride I asked him if he liked it and he went "No, I got wet." I know I explained to him that he was going to get wet before we rode and he seemed to like the idea at the time. It was fun to take another younger kid on the ride and see their reactions and thoughts. I usually always know what my son's reaction is: Dad, lets go again! My son will most definitely be a marathon rider.

On 6/7/10 I took my second cousin Kylee, who is 13 to KI for her first trip of the season. We headed directly to DB for ERT and got 5 rides in before the ROTB’s happened. We saw KIRuler (Dustin) in the parking lot, but he was with some other friends and so he went to Beast.) Oldiesman (Michael) was there with his sister and a friend at DB ERT, but ridding another train. We did not see him after that ride during ERT. After ERT we headed to Beast and rode it 2 times. We then hit BLSC and Vortex. (For some reason Kylee kept calling it Invertigo, I kept correcting her, but really thought she would be quoted on the guests say the darnedest things thread.) We then went to FOF and had a good ride on it. We were in line for Racer and got a call from Dustin that they were going on White Water Canyon. Kylee mentioned wanting to ride it, and I had not ridden it yet this season so we got out of line for Racer and meet him and his friends at the queue for WWC. We had a fun ride and I was trying to keep my shoes and socks from getting soaked. I was about 50% successful. Kylee and I thought a ride on DB would help us dry out a little so we headed over there. Dustin and his friends were going to head to BB so we parted ways with them. After a good ride on DB and now only damp and not soaked we headed to Rivertown Junction for lunch. Here is what I had for lunch! Kylee getting serious about her food! After eating we came out of RJ and went hey look, DB! So we rode it again. Kylee has not been on BBOBH so we rode it. I did not tell her about the face in the fog for I figured it would scare her big time, but it was not working or not turned on. I was disappointed about that. I somehow got a 1748 score, there must be a target that gives a weird # to get that weird score? We wanted to hit Delirium and Michael meet up with us there. The three of us had a fun ride on that and we headed to FD. Rode in the back once and rode again in 1-1. Ridding 1-1 is the way to go on FD. You get the most swaying action in that car than any other IMO. We then went to DT. We here getting warm so we rode Congo Falls. We did not get to wet, but it felt good! We were going to hit AE next, but it was down. We then went to racer and we meet up with Dustin. So now there were 4 of us. Dustin, Michael, Kylee, and myself. We rode Red Racer and then Blue Racer. We noticed AE testing as we got off of Blue so we walked back to AE. We waited a few minutes to see if it would open. In about 3 minutes they opened the queue. The first train that was dispatched was only us 4. An all KIC train right in the middle of the day! I was hollering “It’s an all KIC train” and the ride ops were looking at us like we were crazy! I didn’t care, we were having fun with our EPIC AE KIC train! We get a total of 3 rides without getting off before people realized it was open again and filled the station. I really wanted to ride Dodgems so we rode those and got another ride on Vortex in 5-1 for Terpy! : ) We then went and rode The Beast. Dustin was going to eat at RJ so the rest of us got in queue for DB. Michael’s sister and her friend joined us then as well. It was about a 20 min wait. When were under the track before starting the stairs the ride ops started clearing the queue. Not knowing what was going on we sort of stayed as close as possible for we did not want to lose our spot in line, but we found out someone was sick and they cleared everyone out of the queues. I think KI handled things well considering this was probably not a common occurrence on DB or even at KI. In the mean time we went and rode Surf Dog. Dustin meet us over there and was able to ride the same cycle as us. We then went and rode Woodstock Express, Flying Ace Areal Chase, and BBOBH. We were trying to stay close to DB for when it reopened. I am guessing it needed reinspected after the person got sick on the ride. Dustin had to leave, so before we did all of us got a picture in front of the fountains and Dustin using the recycle bins in the park. Group Pic Dustin using the recycle bins! We then went and rode Race for Your Life Charlie Brown. As we were getting in queue a mother who had one kid in her stroller who fell asleep was looking for someone to take her other son Evan on the ride since she could not leave the other child in the stroller alone. So we picked up another rider with us. Evan did not like the ride for he got wet. I think he liked the drop, but not the water aspect. While in queue for RFYLCB we heard the DB horn go off so we headed there after we got off and got Evan back to his mom. We got back in queue for DB and had a good ride. We then headed to The Beast. Kylee and I wanted a few more rides on DB and It was a little after 9pm. So we decided to end the night with a few more rides on DB. Michael and his group went to Vortex. So it was just Kylee and I to go hit DB 2 more times to make it 10 for the day. We watched the fireworks as we headed to the car. Ride count for the day. AE -3 Beast – 3 BBOBH -2 BLSC – 1 CF - 1 DB – 10 Delirum – 1 Dodgems - 1 DT -1 FD - 2 FOF -1 Racer – 2 RFYLCB – 1 SD -1 Vortex – 2 WE - 1 WWC - 1 Total: 34 Rides

I will only ride a middle seat on Racer and Beast. I agree with your assessment on Raven and Legend. Maybe the Timberlines will allow you to expand your seat range!
-
I almost always go to the back of the train on most rides, but 1-1 on Flight Deck is the best in my opinion. You get more swinging action in that car than any other!

Rode 5-1 this past Monday. Terpy would be proud. Smooth, but I think 7-1 gives more air.
