  1. http://www.courierpress.com/news/2009/nov/...-coaster-feel-/ Assuming by "cars" they mean trains, this is the bargain of the century, if the figures are indeed correct. Even that much per train would be a bargain compared to other companies prices. Of course it is possible that Holiday World got a substantial discount by being a previous customer AND taking delivery of the very first Timberliners, but still... Maybe they got a good trade in value out of the old trains? If the new trains load quicker would that not mean you would want another train to load due to them not stacking up as much?
  2. It has been stated many times that the decision would be made in the off season, and that date was NOT going to be Nov 2nd and in my prediction probably not Dec 1st either for that matter. I am sure the recent news has not helped it's chances of survival.
  3. I wonder how many years these former managers are willing work work for a $1.00 salary to turn this around. This is not going to happen overnight!
  4. Probably just us enthusiasts! Could start a Roller Coaster Polar Bear Club?
  5. No, I do not think it will be coming back. If they made money on their Winterfests is the past, they would still be doing it today. Plus, if I am thinking correctly, wasn't it CF who cancelled WF after they acquired the park when Paramount was selling tickets during the regular season? I never attended WF.
  6. I don't think so. I have seen it down several times. You must not have been at KI on closing day. DB did not open till 10:50. I was on the first train of the day and only got 2 rides in before the ROTB. Although, I have seen Beast down as well as you stated.
  7. The last time I asked her around 6 PM she was like in the 1290's on Sunday. I am not sure if she got to 1300 or not?
  8. HUMM.. me neither?
  9. Very Nice PTR GB! I rode the Ducks in Brandson MO several years ago. Very Fun!
  10. They removed the magnets? Intresting... I have noticed that if you sit in the front, you don't feel the trims biting as hard. They were still there, but just not as noticeable. I am usually a back seat rider, and I notice the trims a lot more in the front on The Beast? I guess it is what you are used too. If I rode in the front more it would praobbly be more noticable in the back. Nice TR Angie, glad you had fun with family and friends!
  11. Jackson, I would almost swear that Terpy was logged in as you when this post was made! I do agree, but I would think they would want their websites to be accurate and all standard. It seems they have their website guys spending all their time on RWN. How often do people visit their site and forums? Edit: Fixed RRN to RWN.
  12. Thanks for sharing with us! Enjoyed the PTR!
  13. Sounds like whatever situation that you are afraid of is nothing to worry about. You will make it just fine!
  14. So the LA Times does have a point, but they have gotten something new to the park over the last few years. I do hope they work on updating the old Paramount website templates in this off season. Not going to hold my breathe.
  15. When was the last time they got a "New" Ride?
  16. Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope, Serveral times a season. Most of the top items I can do in Indy. If I am going to drive for 2 hrs one way, I make sure I do things I can't do in Indy. Ridding DB comes to mind.
  17. LOL, So true! Thanks for the TR Angie!
  18. True. But has he mentioned any of the others? I would imagine Racer will be running, since it's also a wood coaster. Add Flight of Fear to that list as well, since it's indoors. Vortex? Firehawk? Stunt Coaster? Invertigo? Diamondback?!?! I'll be interested to see if any of these are operating. Also keep in mind that they started initial test runs on DB after being built in about this type of weather, if not cooler. So I don't see why it would not be running. Just my thoughts, I could be wrong though!
  19. Keep in mind that Terpy has stated many times that he has ridden Beast while it was snowing.
  20. My argument to keep ridding DB is the line speed. I can ride DB 3 time (or so) or ride Invertigo, FH, FOF, and AE (Ok, just kidding on AE) one time.
  21. I spoke to Gary a few weeks ago when I was there. I asked him how he had been keeping track of his ride count. He said that he documents every ride in his PDA.
  22. I think it would be cool (HA!) to ride The Beast in the snow! Was there accumulated snow on the ground Terpy or was it just flurries?
  23. At lunch today the Subway lady noticed I had on my Cedar Fair jacket. She asked if they owned KI. I said yes. She asked how much tickets were for the park. I was not totally sure since I had a season pass, but told her to try Meijer for discount tickets. I was there earlier in the week and heard a ticket/DB commercial while shopping. She said that she had called Kroger and they were out of tickets. While I was there eating she called and they still had tickets! Just by wearing my CF jacket, I helped a lady save some money for a KI trip.
  24. I do not see VF going anywhere. I would like to see a flat go in where the former Paramount Story is at, or right now Cemetery Drive.
  25. Sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing!
