  1. disco2000, I believe children under the age of 13 are permitted to have an account as long as they have their parent's permission (and you creating the account would obviously be giving your permission).
  2. It appears as though not all of the footers have been completed back in that area.
  3. "The park ATTEMPTS to disclaim liability...." Meaning they could actually be held liable?
  4. I have my black sling backpack with me 95% of the time I go to the park. I usually carry keys, phone, sunglasses case, drink, snacks, and a sweatshirt and/or long pants (in the late fall) in it. I also ride with this on every ride, except Firehawk, Diamondback, Invertigo, Drop Tower, and Delirium. I don't ride Firehawk often due to the bag policy, I unfortunately take a risk on Diamondback, and there's little chance if it being stolen on those other there rides. Now with the new storage bins I feel a little safer while riding...:/
  5. When FoF first opened, word was that the government was looking into using LIM technology for launching fighter jets. Whether or not that was true, I have no idea, but LIM was pretty state-of-the-art at the time. Not sure how long this has been in development but... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_Aircraft_Launch_System It's an interesting read, even if it is Wikipedia.
  6. ^^I'm going to have to put that under a very unfortunate pre-existing medical condition. It could've ruptured anywhere. It's not like the ride was faulty and caused that accident. (It did bit it didn't...)
  7. From my limited medical knowledge, riding a roller coaster wouldn't cause a brain aneurism...?
  8. I was able to get an interview with Don on my last visit to the park. We talk about the restraints on Banshee! I think this video will address some of your and others concerns! Enjoy! What did he say about the problems with Gatekeeper's restraints? Right as you asked him about them, either the wind picked up, the microphone had problems, or both, because I could not hear a single word of Don's answer to that question. He said that they've been working on the Gatekeeper restraints and he anticipates that B&M will have a solution so Banshee will not have an issue.
  9. I've only been there for Diamondback's opening.
  10. It was stated at the announcement that it will be Adena doing the steel.
  11. I really liked the music that played leasing up to the announcement. This included at least one song by Evanescence and what sounded like (to me anyways) some sort of Celtic chanting type of music:)
  12. Edit: nevermind, already answered
  13. You mean this? No no, something else. Hmmm...
  14. I'm hoping that it won't be another 5 year gap between roller coasters, so maybe a new coaster in 2017. But push that back to 2018 if we get a new flat ride of sorta between coasters. Kinda hope for an Intamin next in order to change it up some...BUT ONLY if they get their act together and can have less downtime!
  15. I LOVE the new coaster! Everything from color combo, logo, layout, station, and front entrance area! It's also nice to have another (fairly) long coaster! I'm not disappointed by any means, but tallest and/or fastest invert I think packs more of a punch and sounds better to most ppl than longest though. Does anyone else think that logo looks familiar? Like something similar had been posted in the Decoding thread...? That shirt looks sick btw!
  16. Is it too early to start the official meetup thread for next April?
  17. Edit nevermind
  18. 3 questions I'd love Don to answer: 1. Will the track be filled/will the coaster be quieted by some means? Or will this thing actually have a loud ROAR? (Like louder than Diamondback preferably) 2. Will these restraints be identical to those on Gatekeeper? 3. Will slingshot be staying? Edit: also, congrats to the marketing team for keeping this thing under wraps! I was continually refreshing for the ride's web page but it didnt come on even a minute early!
  19. I'm going to to guess the first drop is around 170 feet, since the total change in elevation is 208
  20. Using new ride restrains that utilize a lap bar and the new vest. The top speed won't be until the second half. Total elevation change is 208 feet (too of lift to out in the valley). This coaster looks absolutely beautiful. I LOVE the color scheme.
  21. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  22. Out go the lights! And then a nice wail!
  23. Random: in the last six days, this thread has had 140,000 views, bringing the total to 640,000 total!
  24. Looks the the URL/coding IS correct. They just keep switching out the image.
  25. Have you been here? It will break the record for longest, and not for height. 1. I decided on those last night but forgot to post em, and decided not to change from them. 2. You can't guarantee that's true 3. You can't say that's the only record it'll break
