  1. What did Paramount advertise they would provide for ERT? It seems from Avatar, PKIVortex, and markr's posts there was something provided to Gold pass members, and I'm sure what they offered is what they provided. Which is what Kings Island is doing now, to their credit, providing what they advertised when we bought our passes. I intend on spending much more time and money at KI as a result of this decision. When I bought my pass it was advertised I'd have ERT on WindSeeker and Vortex, not The Beast and Diamondback....just saying It doesn't bother me because I don't go to ERT and if I did, I'd prefer the updated pair
  2. Well it's good that you ignored it because it was none of your business. That's a lot of the reason our nation is in trouble - people cannot keep their nose where it belongs. They have no right to charge $15 (before the deposit is returned) for a locker. It's not only ridiculous, it's irresponsible. Kings Island is a business in a free country built on capitalism. They have the right to charge whatever they want to for a locker, just like I have the right to choose to not rent a locker because I feel the price is too high. That does NOT, however, give people the right to change into swimsuits in the dry park and violate the dress code just to save $8, because while this great nation may be built on capitalism, it is most certainly NOT built on anarchy. Yeah, I know it's the rules you can't be in the dry park in only a swimsuit but....it was a smart thing on their part! If they changed in the nearest restroom to the train, it's not that much of a walk for them through the park in only swimsuits. And considering they were dressed appropriately to go to the waterpark, I think they should've been allowed to ride the train. You can't fit stuff for 7 people in one locker...so they saved more than $8. Smart choice
  3. Also in the absurd catagory is the actual cost to purchase those lockers: http://securacoinloc.../coin-sizes.php Wow, that IS expensive! But I'd say easily made up for! $646 for a set of twelves works out to be just over $107 per compartment. After renting it out 11 times, it's paid for. KI is making good money off of lockers! :/
  4. Really? Huh. Well, I guess the person didn't want/need one this time
  5. What else would they take? I don't see much of that being of interest to a thief, except for cash....
  6. Most likely. Aquatica was closed at capacity by 10:00AM both yesterday and today, so hearing that about Typhoon isn't surprising. With that said, Magic Kingdom was dead last night and Hollywood Studios wasn't that busy tonight either. 10am?!?! What time does it open? Any idea what the capacity is?
  7. There's the possiblility it could be back in the woods, begind SOB, AE, Firehawk, etc. You wouldn't really see signs of construction
  8. ^^Fixing SOB to where the ride experience would be "acceptable for park management" would be expensive. ^I think that was before land was sold to the Great Wolf Lodge.
  9. *paging this guy* And I second what skaterboy said....your friend can easily be fired.
  10. I enjoyed reading your letter and thought it was well thought-out. Just a couple proofing things to fix: Paragraph 1: "To begin, I can say with great certainty that the news our your hiring at Cedar Fair was a surprising, and welcome, sign of change to those of us is the fan community." -Change "our" to "of" -Change "welcome" to "welcomed" -"is" to "in" Paragraph 2: "You won't just see a handful of people picnicking out of their cars, in my recent experience it's been dozens and dozens of families eating cold sandwiches and chips in the parking lot." -After "cars" change the comma to a semi-colon Paragraph 4: "The smart relocation of Ocean Motion is easily offset by the stupid relocation of Demon Drop." -I know the word "stupid" creates a contrast with "smart" that you're trying to create but I'd take it out. I think the word "stupid" seems kinda child-ish in what is a nice, business-type letter. *My comments are not meant to be nipicky, just helpful. Also, I think what I said is correct....I could be wrong
  11. According to KI Twitter (and another topic on this site), ERT will go back to being on The Beast and Diamondback, starting tomorrow morning
  12. I have no idea what you're talking about....no drop got shortened...
  13. You're certain of that? How?
  14. I don't really have any advice or tips but my first thought was you are gonna be very tired!!! That's a lot of driving and walking to do in nine days..
  15. OMG YESSSSS! I am so pumped for the final installment of Harry Potter!!! I am currently trying to make plans to go to the midnight premiere with some friends I'm also trying to read the final two books again before it comes out haha (sorry I have no input about the original topic....)
  16. ...Bottom line is, management is being obtuse, stubborn, ignorant, whatever you want to call it. It was not a wise decision, and, they have ample time to change it to ANYTHING else, does not have to be DB/Beast. When folks travel, and arrive early to do the advertised, agreed upon ERT rides, and both times within a week the main attraction for said ERT is not operating, does not take a rocket scientist to see that something needs to be tweaked. You said: "I would rather them do any two other rides for the rest of this year, even The Racer instead of WindSeeker, simply because the WindSeeker has, at best, a 50/50 shot of being open." Well....when WindSeeker does not open for ERT, the park opens another ride in its place...so isn't that what you just asked for? No, IMO, ERT should be on Diamondback and Beast now and forever as long as those rides remain in the park! No matter what coaster or thrill ride comes in the future. Ruth Voss started the ERT on Beast in 1979, and up until this year, that's how it's been. It should remain that way... I believe someone once said the "ERT" on The Beast was for ACE members...
  17. Ummm the water was probably circulated and new water could be added, preventing it all from evaporating...
  18. There are places in the park where survey markings could be and we;d have no idea...
  19. Ok so I went to KI on Friday and rode WindSeeker for the first time. The line may look long because it's out into the midway but the actual queue line doesn't hold many people, and it moves fairly fast. The average time per ride cycle was 7:35-7:40 (time from the start of one cycle to the next). Friday was definitely a windy day!! On the ground, it was consistently breezy wiith frequent gusts. Once up on the ride, it was MUCH windier. That for me was the scariest part....suddenly having a wind gust blowing on you! However, I didn't experience my seat moving forwards and backwards towards other seats, and didn't see that while watching the ride run. So I think WindSeeker was closed down for some other reason that one day last week. I do NOT think winds will be as big of an issue as you guys think
  20. I went to KI on Friday and arrived around 2:15. There was a worker at the booth...but she wasn't checking passes
