  1. This is a great deal for those that KNOW they will want a Gold Pass next year - last year, if I recall, they were offering a $5 savings for renewal in September: Gold Pass price at the time was $89.99. For those who aren't sure about getting a pass or those thinking about going with the Platinum Pass, you can wait, see, and take your chances that a similar deal will be available for a while.
  2. Kat - thanks for sharing an awesome PTR with us all. I love the way your emotion comes through in words and pics. Also, pretty cool that you joined Gary for ride 1000 - funny how Adam looks more excited than him. Although the busted lip from Jackson may be the funniest part of the TR.
  3. No you didn't, so I apologize if my answer made it seem that way. I understand being skeptical, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. And the reality is that there are many people at KI and on KIC (and some in both places) who know who the heavy power lappers are (>500 rides) so while technically you might not be able to be proven wrong, your statement would be doubted - and for what purpose would someone want to lie to a bunch of unknowns in internet land?
  4. For me, my favorite sound is the following: "Station Clear, All Clear, That all clear means your out of here ... " It means I'm about to experience all the other sounds and feelings over the next three minutes that make Diamondback an awesome ride experience. Other options considered for favorite sounds include: - "Single Rider - row 1 (or 2 or 16)" so long as I'm the one standing at the front of the SRL - Agree with the B&M Roar, but for me that is a better sound when watching DB versus riding
  5. Some people use a pencil and paper that they keep in their pocket and mark on the brake run (including at least one poster here), others keep notes in their phones/blackberries, others keep a running total in their head (on a day by day basis it is simple math), others have a spreadsheet on their computer at home, etc... Bottom line, how do you know it's 1,000 and not 999 - because they said so.
  6. Good for Andrew! I've seen him several times, and almost got to ride first ride of the day with him once - except he unfortunately proved why you shouldn't "run" to Diamondback from the Gold Pass entrance on a damp morning. Coaster Kid - I hope you make it soon and try not to worry about what other people say.
  7. No, sometime back in late July/early August, Darlene was away from the park for a couple of weeks which is when Gary overtook her. From what I've seen, Gary also tends to stay at the park more, while Darlene often leaves in the middle of the day.
  8. That is truly awesome for Gary! I've ridden with him several times this season and seen him in the Single Rider line a bunch also - very nice guy. Just think 50 hours riding Diamondback for him - Sweet!
  9. I think we were all just standing there dumbfounded wondering what on earth was he talking about! What was your response - 'thanks, now move along' or something like that? Andrew - I only was with the group a short time around when Jesse took the video as I had stuff to do at home. Hopefully next time I'll get to hang out longer.
  10. Andrew - thanks for writing up the Trip Report and linking the pictures. I wish I'd signed up/been able to stay for the whole day; instead I was only able to get some normal gold pass ERT and a few other rides with some fun KIC'ers. Picture notes: - Jesse/Pumpkin picture: Wonder if Jesse thinks talking to the pumpkin or debating Ryan was easier! - Sign Shop pics: Some really neat pics there, thanks for sharing! - Beast Structure pics: I love structure pics and you have some great ones posted - wow.
  11. In addition, I think I can also make out: - Indianapolisman - AgentSOB - kiruler102 and Dad - BavarianBeatle and Kids - Avatar (top of head and eyes only?)
  12. I'll be adding to my 105 in a little over 9 hrs
  13. I'm glad you had as much fun as I did. Awesome day - although I preferred to start with DB laps versus your auditions. Too much fun!
  14. Wait a minute, according to TTD Maverick, you were banned - how are you posting? Oh, hold on, I just realized who posted that. Back to the topic at hand - McSalsa, if you want to or think you should stop doing polls, then do so. But take a look at how many votes/replies/views you got on your polls - you were obviously doing something that many people enjoyed. My only advice to you would be to realize that you could be posting on these forums for a long time - don't feel like you need to post a new poll/topic every day, come and share your input on the topics that others have started also and bring up a new poll every now and then.
  15. This afternoon I noticed that the line for Wild Thornberry had more people than the line for Diamondback - I kind of enjoyed a station wait for DB. Oh BTW, I also noticed that since it was a station wait, they didn't assign seats - I think I hear tigellinus cheering
  16. Maybe I missed it, but was anything finalized regarding the lawsuits between Six Flags and the City of New Orleans? I'm just trying to figure out how the City can enter into agreements for a site that is mired in legal controversy?
  17. Why exactly would it cost less to do it in two parts? Sure it would spread the bill out over a longer period of time, but would likely cost more in total in my opinion.
  18. Opinions are great, and you are always free to state your opinion. But, when you agree to abide by things like Terms of Service (which you did when registering for this site), you are being granted a privilege by the owners/operators of these forums to use them and state your opinions on them.
  19. Yes he does and good for him. This poll may not even have been aimed at McSalsa - others have "borrowed" his Coaster Battle name for their own polls.
  20. At the other two locations they actually know how to check height. The guest relations workers seem to either not care or not know what they're doing when it comes to height checking. I'm sure your co-workers in Guest Relations appreciate your support and confidence. I've actually found them to be very helpful and friendly about checking height on the many, many occasions that I've been there. The stand in GR is also consistent, which can not always be said for the different people in NickU.
  21. Like you could do it. Have some class. Was that really necessary? He is stating his opinion as is his right privilege on these forums. Edited: CedarPointer is correct (see below)

I think Terpy was sad when he opened this thread and didn't get to talk about his favorite park
  23. I was there but didn't post a TR because I figured there would be several others from those that brought a camera and took pictures. Except for Rotag's (which was dominated by the cast!) I'm also waiting. Edit - just saw Beast1979 reply and have to disagree. A picture of pkiboy after getting off Tip Top and the related story would be interesting to many. Really, how many rides can cause you to skip the follow-up Ferris Wheel ride because you weren't feeling up to it
